This week on the Mason Cox Show, Brayden and Mason discuss whether to scrap the byes or the father-son rule, defend Brian Taylor as Channel 7's lead commentator, and talk about Mason's trip to Bali.
Great show today guys. Good to have you back Coxy! Hope the noggin is all good. Sorry you have to deal with constantly being approached and hassled by members of the public 24/7. It would absolutely do my head in if it was me. I agree about Port Adelaide Supporters. In general they are very ruthless, when they are playing well Ken Hinkley is revered. When they lose, Ken is reviled. Feel bad for the bloke. Really pleased for North Melborune. My brother goes for the Kangaroos and they haven't had much to celebrate up until this point, but they have been incredbile. Wrapped for them! Just out of curiosity Coxy, did the Kangas ever let you keep that North Guernsey they had you in for that promo vid? Btw St. Kilda if you want good father-son prospects, your ex-players need to have sons. Don't cry because your club is losing the genetic lottery.
Great show guys. Thoroughly enjoyed all the updates. I was concerned for Mason's concussion progress. Thank God you are now able to train Mason. By the sounds of what you said about sitting in the stands, it's best to stay home and watch, too risky to sit in the stands.
This podcast is so interesting to listen to. I really enjoy the perspectives on footy, as well as all other things happening in the world. Brain-y discussions are brilliant. Thank you. It's really unfortunate that you deal with people hassling you when you're at a game. Unfortunately, people will assume that you're a public right - that because you play AFL, you are fair game. It's not great and I think there should be safety protocols for players that are not playing to ensure they're okay - not just physically, but psychologically, as well.
Mason: Great podcast. Over here in Florida we recently learned that the University of Florida (go Gators) recruited a kid from Canada, Oliver Rioux, who currently stands at 7'9" (236 cm). What advice do you have for young Ollie?
We have more umpires on the field and they still can't keep up with speed of the game. I am so over the Friday night commentary team, JB, MR, and BT, their obvious club, and player bias, they act as judge, jury and executioner. Just call the game guys. I watch Friday nights with audio muted. Abby is brilliant,. Hodge, and Hudson are excellent commentators. The sooner Daisy Pearce moves into coaching the better, she is so wasted in commentary. Come on Pies offer her a coaching role in the VFLW or AFLW. I agree Mason, Player protection is paramount as the game moves forward. GoPies
Collingwood fan forever and I hate BT, have forever, he is a knob, always has been, he can have energy and personality and all that but he is just such a knob straight up, I am old enough to have been around watching him when he played
