Thank you for showing us how the bailer functions inside. I was curious about it. It is a lot of work yet you make it all look so calming and relaxing. Your drone footage is fantastic and I finally saw how you were multitasking the drone with your tractor work. You have so many practical talents and real-life farm experiences on your "just a few acres farm". Thank you for sharing your life with us. Shalom(Peace)

Pete, thank you for the vicarious return to my childhood. Of course we did square bails. The hay was always too wet or dry. If too wet, one could wait a day unless rain was in the forecast. If too dry, well rain would cause mildew. Farming is always a gamble with most of the variables beyond control. Never thought I would miss those days of driving a tractor for hours in the sun and dust. These days most have air conditioned cabs.

Pete, sorry about the hydraulic leak and the wrecked Drone.....! All in All you got the Hay baled w/2 hiccups.... I suppose it could have been much worse but we won't go there because nothing else happened. Some things we have to expect to happen but we never know what it's gonna be.....? Things don't always give us a sign they're going to go bad, it's wear and tear on the equipment and it's connections, whether mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or..? Larger Farms have to call in the troops(service people) to get repairs done and it's not cheap...! Thankfully you are well versed enough in the many years of operation that you can deal w/all down times and fix things yourself...! Great day of baling the hay it's done except for the storage..! =)

Pretty quiet with no monsters... pork chops!! Well, if there's a good side to the extra dry hay not baling as nicely, the mulch left behind will help the pasture grow. I loved the video. Making hay is a very rewarding activity. Growing up in Idaho in a very dry climate I remember going out at 4 in the. Morning to bale while there was some dew on the hay to keep it from shattering, and we would have to quit by 10. It was always satisfying to compete each stage. Cutting, baling and then hauling and stacking. I remember my biggest day. I hauled 30 stacks of hay with our New Holland stack wagon, and our JD 3020. Each stack had 70 bales in it.

I recall dry hay like that from my childhood, 60 years or so ago. Putting square bales up in the barn loft was the most undesirable job. The chaff would cling to the sweat lines on your face and arms. Dust and chaff would sift through your jeans and then some! You had to take care to scrub the ring from the bathtub that evening or Grandma would be upset.

I was about 12 and in a rush raking with my uncle's Farmall F12 trying to keep ahead of the bailing crew. The F12 boiled over. It had other ideas. I don't know which was worse, being yelled at for not raking fast enough in an antique tractor or being yelled at for boiling it over. My uncle got yelled at when my aunt heard him ranting at me...😁
