I'm not a farmer but stumbled on your videos a few months back and thoroughly enjoy them. I lived next to a farmer growing up and I used to lay next to the window and watch them, especially when they were storing their square hay bales. They ran them on a conveyor from the trailer. Oh my land the swearing they did!!! Had to laugh at them always swearing at each other. Never acted like they cared about each other but would help a neighbor in a second. I do appreciate the love and genuine humor your family shares much more!! Thanks for sharing!

Also, unrelated but like, Cole... When your knee is feeling better, I totally expect you to start randomly kneeing Brian and saying "It wasn't me, dad it was the dead guy!" :D

Thanks for an enjoyable video that was interesting and fun to watch. Thanks for telling us more about the operation of the baler. Neat how you can control and tell what the baler is doing on your screen. Much less time getting in and out of tractor. Machines now days are so much more operator friendly. Glad you are getting along good with your knee. Trust it is healing good and will be good for you going forward. Putting the bales in a row in the field makes it easier to pick them up and move to storage. Was a good video. Thanks for your time making it. You all take care and be safe. Thanks. I worked on farms as a teenager back in the 60's. We started out bailing hay and straw in 80 pound bales, hand stacked on a wagon pulled behind the bailer. Worked in the hot direct sun. You'd be able to get about 30 bales on a wagon. That's about 2400 pounds. Then you'd have to take the wagons into the barnyard and off load the bales into the barn hay mow. Really hot work. In the later 60's, when farm labor started getting expensive, the farmers went to 40 pound bales with "kick" bailers. You'd use a silage wagon and the bailer would "kick" the bales into the wagon. One man could run the entire operation of bailing the hay and loading the wagon. Unfortunately, if you turned the wagon at the wrong time the hay bale would be kicked out onto the field. A lot of the bales in the wagon were mis-shaped due to bales being thrown on top of bales already in the wagon. Farmers got the idea that you could hire a teenager for cheap and put them into the wagon to stack bales between the time bales were being kicked into the wagon. I got a job doing that. The green colored bailers had a kick mechanism that would kick the bale into the wagon. The red colored bailers had a conveyor belt mechanism with a belt above and below the bale. It would shoot the bale into the wagon. We'd load a silage wagon with about 100 of the 40 pound bales - about 4000 pounds. I got really good at stacking bales between the times they were kicked into the wagon. Take too long and you'd get knocked over by a 40 pound bale flying at you. I've still got scars from where the bales hit me and the hard grass stems would stab into your skin. After loading the wagons we then had to fill the hay mow. Hot summer days. Temperature in the enclosed mow was 115 degrees F. You'd restack the bales into the mow and that would be used to feed the cattle all winter. I'd finish unloading a wagon, get out of the mow soaking wet from sweat, and drink about half a gallon of water. I don't think labor laws would let you do that kind of work now. From being in the hot sun with no protection I have all sorts of discolored skin markings. I have to have them regularly checked at a doctor's office. We've come a long way since the 60's. Now, as you said, you stack a 1400 pound bale from an air conditioned cab while being shielded from the sun. What a change. Oh, by working with the Holstein cows, I got stomped, kicked, bit, shoved, and swished (with the tail). And that was all before I started dating girls.
