06/23/2024 Montour, Ia. Another busy Sunday on the UP! Multiple manifest trains, coal, priority, and stack trains. Caught this ballast undercutter at the end of the day as it passed through town heading West.
Boy, UP opened up the gates that day Red, they were flat running some trains, but anyway, it looks like the tie gang got up to the second Crossing by your house from what I could tell from the cross ties I guess they’ll be back carry on eastbound with them but anyway, another awesome video my friend you stay safe out there and watch your back. We’ll see you on the next one.
Hi Red, once again fantastic UP freight trains and a Norfolk & Southern freight train, And finally the track construction machines. Great drone footage,👍👍👍👍❤❤🚂🚂 thanks for showing and stay safe. Best wishes from Germany. Wolfgang
Another fab & exciting video Red! Love the Wisconsin loaded coal train with rear dpu it was flyin! My favourite has to be the 4 loco UP intermodel with 2 dpu wow it was fast! The N/S & UP Mixed manifest was a cool train. Have a fab weekend Red, Thank you ❤🥰👍
Thank you for the fabulous video today, Red. It was full of great trains, and I really enjoyed seeing the ballast cleaner, even if it wasn't in operation. It must be quite interesting to watch in action. The trains you film put our local trains to shame, at least in my general area. Almost never do I see more than one locomotive or more than 100 cars. I just really love ❤️ your long, fast trains! I hope you have a safe and enjoyable week ahead! Please tell Walter and Roger heĺlo for me. I'll chat with you later. 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤
You had another busy railfanning day on 23 June 2024 in Montour, Iowa, Red! The former CNW green cover hopper car that appeared at 1:47 is now carrying MWCX reporting marks. I wonder what was under the heavy plastic or tarps in the six gondola cars at the end of that last westbound manifest. The bulkhead flat car had some heavy-duty construction timbers on it. I was surprised to see that the reporting marks on that ballast cleaner/undercutter were UP reporting marks. I was initially thinking that the ballast cleaner/undercutter was owned by someone like LORAM. (Posted 5 July 2024 at 1805 CDT.)
@thomasmackowiak Yep another busy one Thomas! I still managed to get the mowing done between trains. Not sure what was in the gondolas. Maybe some day I can catch an undercutter in action👍
@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 the Wide World of Trains RU-vid channel had a video that showed a ballast cleaner/undercutter in action on the CSX mainline in the Dunkirk, New York area that was uploaded around two years ago. The is the only video that I have seen of one in action. I hope you have a chance to record one in action. )Posted 5 July 2024 at 2019 CDT.)
Montour capable of hosting an overnight semi truck and trailer on your street? Had an extremely long layover at the Indian Reservation truck stop on the 1st of July. Would have been nice to have done my 10+ and watch some trains instead of traffic on US-30 before heading to Norway.
@chrisroeben1085 Maybe on the North side of the tracks you could park along Elm Street. There's a big building there that a trucker uses. Probly park along the North side of the building.
Hello Red! Thanks for your reply and info. I Appreciate you explaining this. Keep up the Strong 💪 Efforts. Enjoy Seeing your Furry Family Members Railfanning. 😬👍
