I could be wrong but I believe this was the last of many of the original Ballet National du Senegal members. I recognize a number of my teachers from over the years: Tackho, Jouncounda, Idrissaa Gueye (one of the best sabar drummers ever) and Oussemane to name a few.

Hey, I saw parts of this beautiful show in Rasa, Utrecht Netherlands in 1996, so what's up with dating this? I guess it's around the time Leopold Sedar Senghor died (2001)? Man, all you africanist anthropologists and historians please wake up!!!!!

And who posted this anyway? I'm tempted to call the NSA, they seem to be able to find anyting (not!).....
