Explore the Ballintaggart Court Tomb with this 3D model created by researchers at Queen’s University Belfast.
This Neolithic court tomb from Ballintaggart, Co. Armagh, was excavated in 1966 and was on display on the grounds of the Ulster Museum until 2006. The Court Tomb is now on the move and will have a new home at the Ulster Folk Museum.
Researchers from Queen’s University Belfast have created a 3D model to show us the tomb in its entirety and assist with its accurate placement. The model was 3D scanned by John Meneely.
Although much was lost in the centuries from the tomb’s creation to its excavation, the tomb still has much to teach us about the Neolithic in Ulster and archaeology today.
