As a Cubs fan, I am happy the Cubs own their own Regional Sports Networks Marquee Sports Network. We have the ability to subscribe directly to Marquee as a streaming service.
Lol that is why I turn off my ESPN notifications and tend to avoid reading game threads on Reddit because I know the feed you get from internet stream is at least three pitches (or a minute and a half) behind the feed you would get from cable TV.
The Pittsburgh Pirates games are going to be aired this coming April on the same Local Cable Sports Network with the NHL's Penguins 🏒 team that launch this past October. Which is called Sportsnet Pittsburgh.
Bro when is this league gunna pull their head out of their ass and just stream their own damn games or throw it on a current streaming service? Im about done needing 50 tv channels and services to watch baseball, football or anything. It’s ridiculous.
7:56 You're missing a very important aspect of this. When Disney bought Fox, they had to sell the Fox Sports RSNs because Disney would have had a monopoly due to Disney also owning ESPN. That was one of the conditions the Department of Justice gave Disney in order to allow this acquisition to go through.
Idc about Bally that much I dont complain much about the scorebug but could care less if they go away I think FOX Sports should come back to replace Bally but I think that is unlikely
if cable wasn't so expensive to just watch sports I think each team should have their own streaming service or their own broadcasting service, I tried to upgrade my internet to include cable but because of bally sports I would have to upgrade my package to level 3 it would cost almost 200 a month
Not always sometimes with streaming, you get extra camera angles & a choice of commentary home or away team coverage They are the key differences when you stream games.
I'm sick of Bally sports and the mlb. As a Rangers fan I'm blacked out on mlb tv even though I'm 8 hours away from Arlington but still live in TX. As for subscribing directly to Bally Plus which is $20 a month they only stream the Mavs and Stars not the Rangers. It's ridiculous its almost as if the MLB doesn't want me to watch games.
Exact problem with MLB is they don't fully share TV money with all the teams equally. If they really want more teams and more fans to be interested they need to put all the TV money including the local deals into one big pot and split it equally, the Yankees need two teams to make money why should they reap all the benefits just because they are in a big money market. The TV deals alone for the Yankees and Dodgers pay for almost 70% of their payroll before they sold a single ticket.
It is very apparent that Twins brass could care less about reaching as many fans as possible as long as they get paid by Diamond. One would think that reaching fans would matter to Diamond, more importantly Diamond sponsors, because if we are not watching there commercials, how are the going to sell there product?
can you do a video on the Washington Nationals/Baltimore Orioles drama with their regional sports network MASN? I really hope the Nats leave it because it is just horrible
Yes-Yankees, NESN-Red Sox & Marquee- Cubs have a direct streaming options for fans in Marquee. Hopefully MASN fans will be able to eventually be able to subscribe to MASN as a streaming service.
What is more interesting is MLB and the Os are still fighting over moving the expos in DC. Three mediation sessions and 10years on and they still can’t settle.
@@amazingeric97 things could change now that the O’s just got sold and Angelos is out of the picture. That’s what Nats fans are hoping for. Keep in mind, the Nationals only make either 25% or 75% (I forget the actual number) of their tv revenue. That’s a lot of money they’re getting screwed over with by not getting it
@@jondelmore3163 I was trying to figure out how the sale of the O's would figure in all of it, but it really is amazing that it is still going on. Everyone thinks they settled or gave money to the O's. They initially gave them a chunk of change but it not for everything and not for the loss of TV revenue. The damages the O's have against MLB still moves on but just new owners and new parties will claim the damages unless part of the approval of the sale is to drop the remaining claims. I think that is what is going to happen. They have spent a fortune on attorneys fess and mediation. It is really fascinating to read and there are a lot of interesting arguments. Some of it is on line others stuff is confidential.
@@jondelmore3163 It is very interesting reading if you are into legal bickering. Some of the case material is on line some is confidential. O's keep saying its impossible to come up with an exact number MLB keeps saying here is our numbers. That's the gist of the fight. No can agree what moving the Expos into DC actually costs the O's in TV revenue. Yes they came to an agreement to get part of the Nationals TV money, they didn't settle with MLB so it still an ongoing fight.
@@amazingeric97In Cleveland yes..The Local TV Networks don't want to bump Primetime Programming in the large part to put Baseball & Basketball Games on there.
Am I the only one that doesn't care about the scoreboard? I just want to watch the game. I'm stuck going on gameday and watching the cartoon of the game.
