I have been wearing mine for a few weeks now. I can confirm the lume is surprisingly good for a field watch. I woke at 4:15 this morning and I had no problem reading the time. This is obviously an homage to the Khaki Field Automatic, but l think they actually improved it in a couple of areas. They color matched the date wheel and without the outlined frame. Also, I prefer this style of hands to the original. Very well done Baltany.
Baltany seem to be actively and deliberately stepping up and away from the usual Ali Express offerings and that’s a darn good thing too, their product offering quality is now clearly superior to PD’s usual stuff especially with their stubbornly awful lume , and others at that level in that place. This is definitely a watch worth considering for mine. Very nice review as always! Cheers !
I have had the Blue dial version for a week now. Incredible watch, i have the Khaki King also. But this baltany is so much easier to read in sunlight, has better lume and sits better on a nato. Fantastic watch.
Thanks for sharing! I agree with you. I had The Khaki Mechanical and I just didn't get on with it. I got tired of the looks and was surprised by how poorly it wears. The strap was awful!
@johnswatchjoint Yeah, the clasp on the Khaki King on has 2 micro adjustments. Can't get a comfy fit on bracelet. Great videos mate, keep up the good work.
@@XjohnjohnX88 I'd say the Hamilton, just. But there are more polished surfaces. I've had mine for 2 years and it looks like I've taken a brillo pad to it. It's not a user friendly watch. The baltany seems way more practical as a daily wear
Great review John! I’ve tried the Hamilton on so many times, but I never connected with it too. Can’t put my finger on why that was. Might pick this up instead to see if that changes!
Hey Harvind. This fits the bill. Wraps around the wrist really nicely and on a quality leather it's just the ticket...excuse the audio as I am playing around. This is a Movo mix mixed via AI...not the best. Also playing with Audicity via another mic. What did you think of the vocal on this. Felt muffled even though AI enhanced to me?
I have bought some Ali watches which are obvious copies, taking them as a bit of fun for not a lot of money. This watch makes a compelling case for being every bit the equal of the KF and I'm a Hamilton lover. If I wanted a field watch at the moment I'd buy this in preference to a Hamilton whose prices have risen considerably recently.
Another great watch from Baltany! They really do a great job! I love the blue one. With a quality leather strap (even if the original one is good enough), more to my liking, it would be perfect! As always, great review John 👍
I like this one more than LIW’s 39mm field watch. I just recently bought Baltany’s 39mm A11 retro offering. I was really impressed by it for the price point. I think this one will be next.
The color you were referring to is verdigris (pronounced VERDYgree). Nice watch, I just ordered one in blue. Always wanted a Hamilton, but priced way out of my budget. This is the next best thing, imo.
I like the big crown. Baltany does not try to save money there like many other Ali watches. The double domed sapphire is a nice touch. The lume is also good as the digits are equally bright. This watch is going to end up in my 11.11 basket.

8:49 there's a concerning squishy sound there haha. Great review thank you. I love their crystals, and I love that dark browny tone to the dial in the light. I have the blue one coming. So tempted to get the black dial as well but think I'll hold off until the next sale. Maybe they'll sign their crown and buckle by then.
This one is a beaut! If I were looking for a field watch, I'd be giving this one serious considerstion over a Khaki Field. But I already have a KF mechanicsl that I love, so this one isnt in my future. Good job, Baltany!

Friend of mine got it with blue dial.. really pops in the sun light .. looks bigger in person I thought ..still very nice watch baltany do watches right.
Honestly that baltany is probably one of the best GADAs of the year and that bundstrap looked amazing on it but you can always dress it up a little bit with a suede or go a little wild with an ostrich strap.
Glad to see that there are some who like bind straps...I have even had people message me and unsubscribe because I like them. The world is full of some very angry people at the moment haha!
Hi John this watch does look stunning. Is this the best Khaki homage you’ve seen on Aliexpress or anywhere else? If they did a 42mm version as well that would be amazing.
On AliExpress this is the one to go for if you want the Khaki look. Other watches to look at would be Timex for example but it depends whether you like quartz....also Boldr.
I've bought the black one. The watch really is high quality for the price. Though I regret it a little bit for now getting the blue one. The sunburst is a bit to brown for my liking.
That's a shame. Aesthetics can be tricky. I had both in for review and chose black for review purposes as I thought it looked the better of the two but I have had many saying they love the blue....all down to personal taste at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing ;)
I got me this with the blue dial and asked for a black strap with it. I have bought 39mm addisdive field watch with engeneer bracelet and have been looking at others for a year or so. There is one Quartz Khaki Homage that is thinner, cheaper and very good looking. If i can get good specs WR and thinner, i am sometimes game. This is i think what i was waiting for because i don't want to spend that much on a Hamilton. But maybe you know this John,, i saw on description on the store i bought this that the Companies or manufactors name is Mystery Code. Do you know if Baltany is the same company?
Not sure about that but if you want a khaki Field homage look back at my review from a few weeks back on the escapement time version. I basically haven't taken it off my wrist since that review. They also homage the Hamilton Murph and you'll see that in tomorrow's vid :)
It’s a good looking watch. I just can’t help thinking the 24hr markers over complicate the dial. Prefer a cleaner face as it has the date window. Lover the counter O on the end of the second hand. It’s always about the little details.
Unfortunately if they took the 24;hour markers off it would no longer be a field watch. They were going for the Hamilton Khaki aesthetic and have carried it off really well. still some improvement, the outer part of the dial should have rings, but honestly this makes a compelling case to buy over hamiliton over their constantly rising cost
It’s like a fairly decent cover version of a classic song by a wedding band or something. It’s recognisable, has a similar feeling and the right notes played in the right places. But, it will never be as good as the original. In addition, it’s unable to have a display case back because it can’t show what a real Hamilton Khaki Auto would have in it, that Swiss made 80 hour power reserve movement. Save up, get a proper Khaki Auto. I don’t understand why these Chinese companies don’t just make their own designs with their own movements and sapphire etc. If they can make a quality watch that purposely copies the looks of another for a cheaper price, why don’t they just design their own with the same level of quality for a cheaper price ?
I totally get what you are saying however the reason why people gravitate towards these watches is based on budget. You can get the look for a fraction of the price...and if you are not a watch fanatic like us, that's enough. For me I actually like this one a lot. I never got on with my Khaki Field. It was always awkward with those long lugs and that oversized crown was always an annoyance to me. As for the movement....not the best and the brown leather strap seemed to come from a lucky bag. I just felt under-whelmed by it. Of course that was my experience and that is why it got flipped pretty quickly. Thanks for watching :)
Well done John. Just remember that Tandorio do not do water resistance. It is well documented and is something I always highlight. Great fun watches with lots of different styles but no W/R.

Hi John. Please do not let that spoil your enjoyment of the watch. Tandorio, whilst not making their watches water resistant, always give enjoyment and value for money in every other way! I can only surmise that the store themselves have seen the comment and taken it down. They track links and if they don't like a comment posted about their store they have probably reported it.
