Baltimore City Schools has reached an alarming low in student performance. Project Baltimore has learned, during the first three quarters of this year, nearly half of high school students in City Schools earned a grade point average below a D.
When Jovani Patterson ran for Baltimore City Council President last year, he ran on a platform that included accountability in education.
“They take. They take. They take. Yet, despite the amount of money they get. We don’t see much change. Our schools outspend 97% of other major school districts,” Patterson said during a 2020 campaign ad.

I was a really bad kid my first two years of high school and had a 2.3-2.5 GPA. I hardly went to school and hardly paid any attention. I cannot imagine the kind of behavior that would warrant a GPA below 1.0. This is truly a crisis. If you want things to get better, it starts at home and a complete overhaul of the education system in Baltimore. This is not normal.

From worse to best: Black Americans (Not Foreign Nationals), Spanish (not that often, but often enough to rank), Whites, Asians. It is sad, but the common problem is simple. These women choose either to have kids way before their are ready. Plus have them with the wrong person. I have found a high correlations between, age, marriage, ethnicity, parent education, and culture.

They have voted the same way for decades. All of the public leaders have been and will remain POCs (which is great). But after decades of failing policies and watching the city deteriorate will people ever realize that throwing $ at socital ills is not a short or long term solution.
@UndertakerU2ber
@UndertakerU2ber Год назад
Why is it “great” that all of their leaders are POC? Why can’t it be neutral, or just something that we don’t even consciously think about? Voting based on color is partially why Baltimore is in the state that it’s in. They hate “racism” so much that they can’t trust a white leader and would rather side with a corrupt black one instead.

The Education Failure is a Direct Result from the Family Values within the Communities of Baltimore. The Education failure is a result from Failing Families and the Failure of Character and Values within them. Education is the Effect from a Failing Family Culture. Everyone can Point the Finger at the Schools all they want but they better pay attention to the Three Fingers coming back First. Once the Communities of Families start recognizing their Failures and Start doing something about them then the Education will Follow.

@cynthiaz9602
@cynthiaz9602 3 года назад
What difference will it make to change to charter schools?🤣🤣🤣 It is the students that make the schools. A child's First Education starts at home. Parents are a child's first teacher. First, parents need to change their attitudes and need to be held accountable. If ya not gonna put in the time for your child then don't have them and use protection. Simple as that. Parents are not being responsible adults and raising their kids...

@beacarr9652 2 года назад
Public charter schools can be just as corrupt and/or ineffectual as mainstream public schools. They are NOT the same as private schools. When you pay your child's tuition yourself, you have a voice. The rest of us must stay on it at home every day. Look in their backpacks, have them show you their work, read to them, listen to them read, be polite and show appreciation for their teachers. Visit the school. Is it bedlam? Could you work there comfortably? At the end of the day, teachers DO NOT RAISE our kids, we do.

Different cultures, especially in China or Japan. In China and Japan honor is a big thing and where students do not want to dishonor their parents or their family name so they study hard. I spent years living in Japan and if a child is doing bad in school, everyone in the neighborhood knows and the family is ridiculed and that embarrasses the family and the family name. For this reason it’s extremely rare to see any student failing school in Asian countries because the children are brought up with a sense of pride in their family and the family name and they do not want to embarrass their parents, so they study hard in school to prevent any embarrassment upon their family. Most American kids are not instilled with a sense of pride in their families, hell they barely have two parents in the home most of the time.😂😂😂
