Baltimore landlords evict non-paying tenants years into pandemic 

2 years no rent payments .... really people have no self respect anymore .. good grief at least make an effort or pay half anything SMH

Why did our government think it was a good idea to pay the tenant instead of the landlord directly? I just can't figure that out.

The Federal Government, State and Local Governments have continued to fail small landlords. Tenants have felt entitled, empowered to be deadbeats.

I don't have to pay rent is the attitude many people had. A landlord having to file bankruptcy to keep HIS property is disgraceful. No rent collection for 2 years just not right.. Our leadership in Washington DC gets a -F.

Hiring a professional property manager will cost more than 10% more so rent price goes up. Having a unit occupied by non-payers while a line of potential renters wait increases the market price. Having to borrow more money to prevent foreclosure makes the price go up. Getting stuck with a $6,000 water bill is gonna raise rent prices. So basically Cancel Rent means higher rent for everyone else in the neighborhood.

What really shocks me about the entire fiasco with the COVID rent eviction moratoriums is that cities/states continued to assess taxes... Yet we supplied all this money for tenants to be able to stay in their homes, for which there seems to be hardly any accounting of and now we have inflation on everything. I see it for myself, government is just plain stupid

People got those stimulus checks & most the people was buying crabs. Smh

Pay your rent. Turn off the cable, stop smoking, stop ordering pizza, use a cheap phone. Pay rent first.

Hope this goes onto the deadbeats records so other landlords are aware. They will do it again if given another place.

Why the government didn’t realize what this would do to landlords is beyond me. People thought that meant that they don’t have to pay rent and were 100% wrong. If you signed a lease you are obligated to pay the full amount of the lease. Nothing is free in this world.

Who do people think they are? Bums expecting someone else to take care of them. No wonder rent is going up so much, plus harder to get in after what people did. I don’t blame the landlords at all

I agree I’m really sick of elected leaders who side constantly with renters as opposed to the landlords. I agree with this man there’s absolutely no way that he can or should continue to allow people to live in his homes for free he has to pay property taxes insurance maintenance.And I would not accept money from the city either to allow people to continue to live for nothing in my rentals because as soon as the city stops giving money they’re not gonna pay me anymore

Don't listen to the government when they say you don't have to pay. If it's not in writing given to you don't do it. I work as a leasing agent in Dundalk and see this. I've had to relocate myself so I understand but not to pay for several months; the pandemic hit hard on all levels. Please people try to pay something especially if you have it. Then there is the rental history part to find another place. Evictions won't qualify in these automatically system checks when looking for a place; you'll get denied. It's better to give the owner notice and leave and pay what you can if you can. It's heartbreaking on both ends for tenants and the owners 🙏🏽

Government put the moratorium on landlords disregarding landlords causing huge losses for landlords. Why doesn't government just handle paying the landlord's! Why are governments paying companies to handle rental assistance? Many landlords having their properties foreclosed, on sale or in repo or eviction.

The pandemic was rougher than it needed to be because of the way our Government handle forcing regulations on our Nation.

If you don't pay your rent, he cant pay his bills. The Bank will only give you a day when they take possession of the property. However the landlord is required by LAW to store your property for 30 days at your expence.

not me? i did it differently, i posted a NO TRESSPASSING SIGN ON THE FRONT OF THE HOME, 3 DAYS PRIOR THERE GIVING A NOTICE TO PAY OR QUIT? when the tenant left for the store , i moved them out, the police were there, and i changed the locks, and had men moving there personal items into a large container parked on the street, see if you place the items on the front lawn or still on your property they have a right to move back in!!!, and LITTLE MISTAKE OF THE COURTS, ?, so if the tenant trys to get in the home, there arrested,! . if that happens, i will tell them where the items are at, and the container company will hold the container for 30 days at a cost of 1000.00 per month, if they call the container company in a few days, the items are held for the 30 days, then its trashed. this is a LITTLE LOOP HOLE IN THE SYSTEM RIGHTS FOR THE LANDLORDS,

I would off kicked the renters my self. Can't wait on the court to decide. That's their property and if the renters want to take you to court .. well fine .go to court and drag the case for a real long time and the renters will just give up . They don't want to keep paying money for court.

The government doesn't seem to care about small landlords. Perhaps they think they are all rich and can afford unpaid rents by tenants. Many tenants took undue advantage of the rental moratorium which was not right. Now certain tenants think they are entitled to free rent for years or forever which is a fantasy on their part.

If tenants are not paying, landlords have every right to evict. Lazy irresponsible people. They do not deserve any consideration since they were not responsible for paying at least SOMETHING to their landlords, who ALSO had bills to pay.

Bs. I owned 100 acres lands in the middle of America. I want my lands to be nuclear test sites as business and they said no. Why not? That's the way a tenant was evicted in Memphis. She was at work, and her belongings were out on the street. Since she was at work all day, people carted many of her possessions, that they saw and wanted. It was determined the landlord was "shady" and the police were searching for him. It was illegal for him to do it that way.

They don't realize,for every family they kick out of the homes, they create more heat for the next civil war. Those with nothing to lose,are the most dangerous.
