@@senpaislayer how could u force yourself 😭 they spoke directly to my soul. I loved them & still love them. Ville Valo forever 🥰♾🎼💕 thank god for Bam giving them their platform in the US!!
@@catherine520 They still speak to my soul. 30 year old me still jams out to a playlist on Spotify of my favorite songs from each album to this day... (and tbh this playlist more or less ended up being most of their discography because it was hard to pick a handful of songs from each album, one of the only bands where I know the words to every song on every album and listen to them all with fairly equal enthusiasm)
Finding gems like this is why I love RU-vid. Amazing footage. It's like a time capsule, simultaneously feels so recent yet a lifetime ago. Thank you for the upload 💗
I try to explain to my wife or friends ever since I heard infernal Majesty 95 Demo. It's very very very rare to have a artist/band whose music got better and better or would change artistical inspiration in their sound and would still have songs in the album that was better than previous. Being a teenager when he did his first Show with Bam n the DVDs I begged for of both of them was such a great experience
HIM's best years. I know that there were a "lot of substances", but look at them...they were glowing. Ville was happy, surounded by love and in his maximum creativity. I love Ville sober, is good, is healthy, but man..., he was glowing back then when he was HIM(self).
That's why it's so hard to stay sober. That the allure "if I just have a drink etc, i'll be happy like I used to be..." bam is a perfect example of why that doesn't work.
I sincerely hope Bam gets back to this Bam. He is so talented and has so much to offer the word... regardless on anyones feelings about him, he did NOT deserve the absolute HELL that demon Lima put him through.... neither did her sister or Amanda Rabb. I wish him nothing but the best and I pray he heals and is able to raise his son in a happy, healthy home 💜
I'm not sure what you talking about. I stop following him shortly after Dunn's death. Fact that he didn't invite Ville to his wedding was enough to me. And he started posting shit that were far from fun anymore.
@Aries WildChild what wedding? Bam & Nikki are not married. Ville was also going through his own issues as well, but he is now sober and doing amazing ! I'm actually really sad i didn't get to see him perform on the 8th when he was in my city 😭
Definitely think villes alcoholism was made worse by Bam, not saying he is entirely to blame but it's like hhe wanted to drag him down too. I mean look at ville now, sober and bam is just a bloated mess
Feel like Ville lit Bam's alcoholism spark which then fed back into Ville's Finnish alcoholism and on and on in a vicious cycle. Definitely two very bad influences on each other.
Think it was the other way around Bam didn't drink until he started hanging out with the band but choices are personal no one is to blame for someone else's choices
There was an interview with Bam's mother regarding his issues with food at the time. She said Ville is a lovely guy and all, but he never ate, only drank and Bam really wanted to be like Valo so he started to avoid food in order to become as skinny. I think Bam was pretty obsessed with him and was copying Ville's behaviour... that being said you don't become a drunk blob out of nowhere, you must be predesposed, but hanging with the band really helped. You can't truly blame anyone though, guess they just found each other.
That's not what I saw or have read. Bam might be living in Neverland as as a drugged up man-child now, but if you pay attention in HIM vs Bam you catch Bam lightheartedly teasing Ville waking up and drinking first thing in the morning. This was not something Bam did. Years later Bam brought it up once again when he was hurt by their close friendship being over, he said Ville would drink a lot, first thing in the morning even, and not eat as he didn't have a strong appetite like ever. Bam was very impressionable and wanted to keep up and be like him. I'm sure Ville was also impressionable and wanted to be liked by Bam and realized they both liked and bonded through alcohol, but we'll never know what went on in his mind in the early 2000s because Ville is very mysterious and private. We'd truly need both sides of the story as much as I'm a huge fan of Ville. We can't put all the blame on Bam because we all know he hasn't been cancelled for being a liar or terrible person which says a lot. He just needs help and will hopefully recover soon.
@@marinavictoria9411 Valle had a million people wanting to be his friend. I'm sure with Margera there was a element of "show business", or helping each other's brands by associating with each other, but the "fascination" that Bam had for Valo only went one way----Valo didn't reciprocate the worship aspect, and it was probably him who backed away from the friendship after he stopped drinking.
Muistan pienenä poikana nähneeni Wings of a Butterflyn videon pyörivän jatkuvasti MTV Finlandilla(?) :D
I remember when Ville started to live sober life and Bam was getting married. Bam asked Ville to come there but Ville denied it. Because he said that there will be booze and other substances and he cant be sober there. Bam was pissed and they did not speak anything each other for years.
I miss this time of my life more than anything else. BAM was such an icon for us kids growing up in the early 2000s! Im 30 now and I still come back time to time to jam out when I have a couple. I was in middle school when I would rock out to these guys man and I was one of the few who genuinely listened to HIM.
Nah, it was a one way obsession. Bam was just a glorified groupie, and Valo probably saw right through him and was careful not to get too close to him. Valo had thousands of people who wanted to be his best friend. After he stopped drinking he pretty much stopped hanging out with Bam.
Oh I don’t doubt it was a one-sided obsession. I definitely think Bam was crushing hard on Ville (but who wasn’t crushing on Ville back then tbf). I think Ville was the one to put distance between them. But Ville is still a gentleman and he’s never talked shit about Bam, meanwhile, Bam goes on Steve-O’s podcast and blames Ville for all the shit his life, never once taking responsibility for his own decisions.
Yes, I have the same feeling after watching some videos, that there was something more than friendship. And for me it was very strange to see that triangle - Ville, Bam and Ville’s girlfriend often together on photo and video. Just like Bam wanted to take a place in personal space of Ville. Especially when i see such videos 🙈 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9gJzpll-TsY.htmlsi=dN62VWHPUc0-XEx3
Anyone know what song was playing around 8:00 mark? I didn't recognize it. It's been a long time since I've listened to HIM a lot, but I don't remember that one.
@@romanborris7919 is it in like a deluxe version or? Only asking because I had the album and didn't have that song on it... Was it a thing where you had to download the album on your computer and that's how you could hear it?
Miss Mausoleum it’s on RU-vid for sure, and well it’s kinda funny cuz I bought the dark light album a few years back and I didn’t think it was on there, but if you read the cd, it should say somewhere “extra track the cage” or something like that, you have to skip to next song after the last song on the cd and boom, it played on mine and I was shocked cuz i originally thought it wasn’t on there till my brother pointed it out on the cd lol idk if it is the deluxe or not, pretty sure it’s not, but as far as most modern music sharing apps like Apple Music, their surprisingly don’t have the song 😪 so I’d have to find a way to put it on my phone via CD which is something I haven’t done in ages and has gotten more complicated over the years with all the new cloud data etc
@@romanborris7919 I found the album that has it on Amazon... I'm hopeful to get it... Dark Light is a very special album to me because it was my first HIM album and one I bought myself... And I love EVERY song on it... Killing Loneliness was my instant favorite before they released it as a single lol 😂 Also... Can we appreciate the, I think but could be wrong, original video for that song? 😍 I'm kinda not even low key OBSESSED with that video 🥰 Thank you for that info... I had the standard album and it only listed 10 tracks so... I might have to buy two versions of the album lol 😂
Miss Mausoleum I just looked at the album I have, yeah it doesn’t show anywhere but the album itself. I can show send you a picture of it so we can compare. Reach me at romanborris@hotmail.com can probably share more cool HIM fun facts/stories etc Same here. Killing loneliness was one of my faves that got me into the band and dark light as a whole, that and viva la bam / their old RU-vid videos. I only learned about “the cage” from a couple of years ago searching RU-vid, it’s a dope song, definitely a top 10 favorite of mine. Glad to find another fan that shares my enthusiasm of them. Getting scarce since their departure and they are consisted and “old” group now.
Sadly where is HIM when BAM is a disaster? I love HIM & I can"t blame them for distancing themselves from the new Phil 2.0! Remember when Bam was all over Phil for his size? Bam is now Phil!!! Just less functional!
Who knows, why HIM didn't move further into the USA and stay there and find a good producer? Was it only Bam who could promote them? why did they end up working with Bam, was it just because of the booze?
Were/are you a fan of Him, Ville Vallo, or Bam Margera? I propose a question. What would be better right now than a visit from Ville Valo to Bam in Oceanside California for a nostalgic stroll through SD AND Hollywood? If your a fan you know Bam discovered HIM on a skate trip and fell in love. Second to that love returned when Vile arrived to Hollywood and filmed a music video with Bam (see Bam Vs HIM video on RU-vid for reference). Is the third time the charm-this time in San Diego between Vile Vallo and Bam? I wonder if anything could be more magical for Bam right now than a visit from Vile Vallo to Oceanside- I think not (Therefore I am and have given it much consideration. To re live those nostalgic happy times from Helsinki to Hollywood. I say Let them drink, smoke, eat, and remember better days (for us all). “Sobriety”- while it doesn’t have too- can wait. I say Let them laugh and love and remember the time when Bam found Him and met Ville Vallo in Europe. I say let them re live the magic they experienced in Hollywood. I sincerely pray they make new memories in SD. Specifically Oceanside Carlsbad and Encinitas. Has Ville Vallo ever been? All fans of Bam, HIM, CKY, Big Brother Magazine, and Jackass I beseech you to all unite over this idea and gift to Bam please. Steve O once called every name in the yellow pages to see Motley Crew. Nope sorry hate to bust your delusional "bubble" but BAM was and STILL is a grown a** supposed to be "MAN" that made his own choices it had NOTHING to do with THE BAND H.I.M OR VILLE VALO he was obsessed with Ville and wanted to copy EVERYTHING he did!!!
14:00 Check out the ego of Ville Valo. Yeah, he's a good songwriter and all, but preeeetty damn sure he's not even near the sheer virtuosity of Prince.
@@chemi_nymphI'm pretty sure he isn't. Back in the day sky was the limit for him and booze, coke and girls were streaming whenever he wanted. Anyone could lose their minds after that.
Well why you here fool??? You can kindly go eff yourself thankyou, us fans love it so don't worry we dgaf about a hater's opinion clearly you're tone deaf and wouldn't know beautiful poetic music if it fell out of the sky and landed on your dumb head....thanks buh-BYEEE!!!😂😂😂
