Do visit the church; believe there are Anglo Saxon burial remains there. Also visit the castle itself, particularly if there’s an exhibition (charges apply). Views spectacular. Carter’s butchers sausage rolls historic; sister shop next door will prepare picnic-type snacks for beach. Potted lobster good but expensive & got slightly above station since on tv (Hairy Bikers visited). Take car to Stag Rock (1 mile down The Wynding opposite Lord Crewe Arms) & follow public footpath across the golf club (which by the way is a ‘hidden gem’). Views stunning, especially over Budle Bay to Lindisfarne; view from 16th Green to the castle out of this world. Talking of BB, drive to Warren Mill (next village) and walk (tidal), BB is a nature reserve. Nice c. 5 mile walk is to park car at 12th tee on golf course and walk back into Bamburgh, down The Wynding, via stag rock and across the golf course. Club house serves great food (not to public I believe at weekends) & good beers. I ❤ Bamburgh, is that obvious?!?! 😂
I wouldn't call Bamburgh a 'resort' personally because its a very small village albeit with some nice places to eat and drink. The Beach is amazing though and perfect for dogs :)
Hi, I wouldn’t to, but the which magazine compared Bamburgh to be a resort, that’s show how much they no about places comparing with seaside resorts like Skegness and Clacton plus more, they need to star categorising places before they start issuing them with the best resorts in Great Britain.
