If you've made it here, you're a real aspinall fan. This was a mile long scroll to find something new lol. Damn commentator made a soulja boy reference, this shit old af 🤣
turns out, by anyone with half decent take downs unfortunately. thankfully the ufc heavyweight division has very few wrestlers, hopefully they keep matching him up with strikers
@@andrewtregoning this was 7 years ago in his 4th fight. Tom has developed alot in every area since this fight and is physically a different animal now too
its nice to see heavyweights that are knowledgeable on the ground although in mma i'd like to see a greater focus on cardio and speed at that weight class
@@John11- So? The guys been training since a little kid AND had 30 pounds on the guy...how does that make sense? That's not something that should happen. I'm not saying he wouldn't beat Jon but Jon entered the UFC after 9 months of training? Do you see Jon Jones losing to a nobody whilst having 30 pounds on the guy?
This was embarrassing. Aspinal is heavier by quite a margin, pretty much solid muscle, however he got manhandled, held against his will on the bottom, and pounded on. He would make attempts to change his position but then he's still end up on the bottom. What the hell aspinall? You have 30 lb on this guy
The commentary here was a bit unfair on Stuart, his grappling at this point was much higher level that Toms. Stuart was full English Cadet level in Judo and had trained from a very young age. He wasnt really just a black belt, he was an international level junior fighting for team GB.
His wrestling & grappling hasn't even been tested since & ppl are so confident he beats Jon Jones, not me, I knew he'd beat everyone he's beaten so far, Jon on the other hand is the 1 I'm picking against Tom.
@@ArseneBorz It depends on how Blaydes decides to fight if he mixes his wrestling I'd say 60% because I'm not too confident only because for all we know Tom's ground game defense is so much better. But if Curtis decides to stand & trade I give Curtis about 45% I'd say. What's your opinion?
I think Tom would have the world of respect for the guy, Austin gave up next to thirty pounds to Aspinall, that's like another weight division. Show respect to the Victor, that's some weight to give up
@@grammargestapo6654 doesn’t have an exclusive contract anywhere at the moment, was with EFC in South Africa but has also fought on a couple of local UK shows.
To be fair, this is an early fight of Tom’s. He’s absolutely improved since then. I will say his wrestling and cardio didn’t look the best in the fight, though.
@@stephencox8723 His wrestling & grappling hasn't even been tested since then, what if it still sucks? Which is why ppl shouldn't be confident he'd even beat Jon.
How many unanswered punches is that wrath going to allow for Stewart Austin? If it was UFC that fight would have been stopped before Austin got that heel lock. What a crazy ending. I wish UFC would give people that much time to defend themselves and get out of a situation like Stuart had to work with at the end of this fight
What happened to Tom Aspinall? He was good here, sure, but he went on to become probably the ONLY heavyweight to have surpassed Fedor and Cain in sheer skill.
The young HW fighters in the UFC don't have great fights like this. Other than Magomedov, and Rosholt these guys could probably blow out most of them. They are more versatile than Rosholt too. A big Brit striker would always have the chance of KO over that guy.
@@stephencox8723 You made no sense there. If Im happy that Aspinall lost to this guy, why would I be even more satisfied if he THEN lost to Johnny Walker? I like Tom, one of my top fav fighters now.
@@RatedRRaj if the guy who beat Aspinall loses to someone else who isn’t a world beater that devalues Aspinall even further. And of course you’re an Aspinall fan now he’s had plenty bandwagon fans as of recent.
@@user-fd5gp4xv4zAre you a casual? Who were the 4 hall of famers that he beat in 1 year lmao. Only current hall of famer he’s beaten are DC and Rashad, but he didn’t beat 4 different ones in a single year. Yea he beat good fighters and killers which is why he’s the GOAT but still, get your facts straight.

@@stephencox8723 Well there’s normal safe predictions and then there’s the ones that seem like they carry some sort of spite behind them, like his for example. That’s why.
@@RatedRRaj carry some sort of spite? isn’t that just your projecting? your reply seemed to carry more spite 🤷♂️. doesn’t really matter, anyways though.
My brother is about the same size as Tom, my brother is 6 foot 5 and weighs 17 and a half stone which is about 6lb lighter than Tom and that’s a big unit.
@@chizzelfingers You sound scared and triggered. The fact that a guy who is not a wrestler and weighs 30 pounds lighter than Tom can take him down easily and control him is very telling. Jones is one of the best wrestler in the ufc and is very difficult to take down. Tom aspinall can train grappling for as long as he wants after this but the fact remains that he is not a wrestler. During this fight Tom was already an accomplished grappled still he got ragdolled. Jones said that he would be taking notes in the Aspinall vs Blaydes fight. I will be watching too. But after watching this fight, apart from Tom blitz and heavy hands, Jones wins this fight. When Jones was 23 years old he was dominating the competition. That cannot be said for Tom aspinall who has three loses in his career compare to Jones one loss.
what I was thinking lol. Jon aint tapping to a bum like this and sure as hell ain't losing. Vitor had a submission way more locked in than that and thats vitor
