I noticed that too, first he shot couple of times but Alex stuffed it. So he targeted legs for the next rounds and when he realized Alex has weakened he took him down. His fight IQ is insane
@@charlesg7926 bro a picogram😂 besides they just passed a new law in the UFC a while ago that that is not a thing anymore so 🤷🏾♂️. But let's turn it into a conversation ⏳ you said he's on steroids😈😈 well how many people do you think are on steroids in the mma world? Also those who are on roids still are not winning fights, already not the important ones so the fighters on it that have been trying to win fights for years still can't do it because it's about skill it's about talent
Too bad he wasn't clean. Amazingly talented yet soiled his legacy by not playing by the same rules as others. For the Jones fanboys, the levels measured in his system were similar to someone who had taken Turbinol a month before. Alexander deserved a better opponent.
@@snoopyshultz close enough to the ears, your opponent is not gonna sit around waiting. He wouldn’t of had to eat shots, nearly to the back of his head, if gus were maneuvering
This is one of the most perfect fights I ever seen someone fight. Considering how their first fight went makes this even more impressive as well. Hopefully we get to see Jon Jones fight a few more times before he retires but who knows.
I certainly hope so. He hasn't done nearly what he was capable of him. Could have been one of the most dominant guy in sports in general. Even still he's the GOAT in my eyes. If he comes back and wins the title at heavyweight that would be absolutely incredible as well. Unfortunately he got involved in drugs and negative things, which really almost ended his career, and definitely messed it up big time. Jons is coming back though to do what he does best though. March next year vs Francis they say.
@@elijahmitchell195 Yeah I hear you, but I think they're planning on just putting Jon against Franicis without a warm up now. Originally Jon was going to fight Stipe, but that never happened.
Incredible how he is able to manipulate arms of opponent, the wrist control, over hooks to wrench elbows/shoulders. As a martial artist myself it’s literally awesome to watch and breakdown film of this man. He pure genius in there. He started out so raw, and late in game it’s strange almost how he was able to master the game so quickly. Everything he does is calculated to wreak havoc on opponents joints and psyche. Fights in an exciting manner as well. Doesn’t force takedowns but the threat is always there. He is everywhere all the time. Meaning he is a great pressure fighter as well as great defensively as he loves to play counter striker. Moves left as a southpaw to anticipate and counter strike. Stays long but can chop up on inside with elbow attacks. Attacks wrists, shoulders, elbows, knees, neck, all vulnerable points of human anatomy. Also fights very well from both lefty and righty, like the Marvin Hagler of boxing. How does anyone say he not TBE. Khabib, GSP, Demetrius Johnson. They all don’t really come close. Cejudo is the only one that’s in sight but not as dominant and does not have the physicality of Jones. Can’t wait to see Jones Ngannou or Jones and the new Russian who just annihilated Tuivasa
Yepp the longer I watch MMA the more I realize Jon just does everything well his versatility and fight iq is the best. The only thing he lacks is perhaps heavy hands but he is smart like Cyril Gane and keeps distance well I think he can beat Gane with wrestling and perhaps Pavlovich and Francis the same way. His toughest matchup might be another wrestler like Blaydes
@@joeschmoe3665 he's been great against wrestlers. His problem isn't his grappling or defense against the same. His potential problem could be with another striker that can mix up kicks better than Dominic Reyes did. Although I think Jon wasn't 100% himself that fight he did show kinks previously unseen in his defense especially with getting punched by DR. Hopefully it was a one time thing and he's still as hungry as ever
The respect between Jones and Gustafsson is pure class. Dare I say these two probably ended up as low-key friends. Great to see good sportsmanship at this level.
Jon’s coach and corner has INSANELY good advice. It’s all in the delivery and how you make the fighter feel; the coach literally spoke in a hypnotic way and got even me feeling relaxed and hyped

Silva is much closer to being third behind GSP, Silva ended up worse than GSP did... the argument between Jones vs GSP is even more complicated actually
A true mixed martial artist. He really doesn't even use boxing punches. He tears your legs and mid section up. Then elbows the crap out ya. Then submits your ass. Rampage said the kicks to his knee should be banned. He couldn't even walk afterwards.
He isn't just trying to win the fight, he's literally trying to hurt you. This is why I say don't look for honour in a fight, because eventually you'll find a beast like this who will throw that shit out the window.
Lol it seizes the muscles and tendons that support your knee. You’ll be fine after but that shit has to hurt. Thankfully I haven’t come across anyone who has the IQ to do it
@@zeneth8082 We don't really know if they do any more damage than a standard unchecked leg kick. I can't think of a fighter that hasn't had an ACL/LCL/MCL/Meniscus surgery! Bisping had to have both knees replaced, and most of his career happened before Jackson Wink popularised the "Oblique Kick"...
@SavingPrivateBob You don't go looking for honor if YOU have it. You fight , your opponent doesn't have honor , that's when you show yours more while continuing to fight.
As a fan who only started watching mma during the pandemic, i can only imagine how invincible jon jones must’ve looked after this victory. The first man to ever made jones look human, now made him look unstoppable again. Edit: either that or people immediately accused him of PEDs afterwards lol
haha Only haters bring up the PED thing. Truth is, they're all on it. DC had testosterone levels three times the average male amount in their rematch, you can look it up. It's public info on USADA's database. People just aren't too educated on what it takes to be like these guys, but taking PEDs won't make you even 5% of Jon Jones lol
Haha Interesting story. This video was banned from all views for 3 years. Recently they allowed it for viewing. Not sure why, but I'm glad everyone's enjoying the fight
Let's be real, if he fought Reyes again he'd probably destroy him too. I'd never want to fight Jones in a rematch. He's too smart and will make the adjustments. Your best chance is that first opportunity
Yeah, well unfortunately Jon doesn't usually train for guys he doesn't know much. He would destroy Reyes easily. Alex is much tougher than Reyes. The Alex rematch was big to him, so he trained hard.
No, Jones had no answer for Dominic Reyes. Dominic Reyes would've had more stamina on the rematch and that would've been even worse for Jones. There's a reason Jones disappeared after.
Jones' boxing is not good. His hands are slow and they lack power, it's only good if the timing is right. His strength is in his kicks and his grappling. Jones did not like going shin to shin with Reyes. And Reyes had good takedown defense that Jones could not do anything with.
That fight was so cool, they were very young and thirsty to reach bigger flights in the first one, here they are more matured and we could see how much they evolved as a person, as an athlete and what changed in their skills and strategies with the learnings they had throughout their career, the concept of REMATCH on its purest form, one that was really worth the wait.
Gustafsson can't reach Jones when Jones is stepping backwards, Jon is also shadowing with his hands higher. Jon clearly studied way more for this fight. Jon is in great shape
Funny how everyone conveniently forgets Jon Jones pulsed for this fight and Dana White had to convince Alexander to accept the fight. Hell, they literally had to change the state of the fight LAST MINUTE to California because the Nevada State Athletic Commission was forbidding it from transpiring it in Nevada.
This was Jons most impressive fight to me it was a huge improvement from his first fight with gus...his legs were stronger, his foot work was better, and because of that he was able to take him down and get the finish. All of Jons other opponents at the time had been smaller with a shorter reach but Gustafson made Jon grow skill wise and be a technically better fighter in my opinion.
You can also tell he was much more prepared. In the first fight he was talking about partying a lot pre Gus #1 - I just watched it and you can tell he was worn down from partying and not so quick. Came back fully ready and dismantled Gus. Great fight. Jones is truly a killer in there
@@jasonboom9267everyone knows gustafson won the first fight simple gus won rounds 1-3 jones won round 4&5 and couldn’t even take down gustafson and gustafson took him down 4 times and outlanded him 😂 but Dana white had to come rescue his juiced up athlete 😂😂

People still saying Anderson Silva is the 185 GOAT despite he tested positive just like Jones. But with him it's okay i guess couse he is a fan favourite and Jon is not so people still always bring that up under every Jon Jones video. It's pretty salty that we only use steroids tests for fighters we don't like but don't do the same with fighters we like. Cheal Sonnen, Silva, Henderson exct, we only talk about PEDs when it comes to hated fighters like Jon and TJ, so it's salty and unfair to do
@@EmeralArcher The thing is Anderson Silva was not mentioned in this comment, was he? If he was mentioned as the GOAT, I would have said the same thing. Anyone who is exposed for taking steroids, their legacy is forever tainted.
Jon vs machita & this fight are some of my favorite! The way he made us think he was going to choke him out and then just started bombing on him was crazy!!
tôi đã xem trận đấu trước jones vs gus và đọc những bình luận. ở trận thứ hai này đã giải đáp tất cả cho những ai từng nghi ngờ ở trận thứ nhất. hay thừa nhận jones là goat
You actually see jon reach for the kimura in side control before he established crucifix in this fight. I think Gus’a team watched his Americana finish against belfort
Once Jones had him on the ground it looks in hindsight that his intention was always a ground-and-pound finish. The way he disengaged from the choke really gives the impression that that, and all the grappling that came just before was an elaborate misdirection. Gus wasn't given a chance to react. His back was already taken, and started the endless flurry. Clever that.
Thinking after watching this the 15th time that just the way Jones is circling around to the left is limiting Gustufson’s kicking. And overall striking
Styles make fights, this was essentially a boxer vs a kickboxer that's allowed to kick. If you control the distance you in a sense control your opponents moveset. Bones is cold man, that man had tools for days, but I personally love his elbows 🗿
Exactly. He made gus look slow and old compared to their first fight just by putting his ego aside and understanding his boxing isn’t crisp enough to trade with Gus. Intercepted with kicks every time Gus took a step foward and used that to set up the elbows/takedown
This fight was much more technical by Jon than the first.. the first fight Gustafson was backpedaling and even RUNNING away at times but having great counters.. this fight Jon was much more patient and was the one doing the countering. He’s gotten smarter and that makes him scarier. He’s the LeBron of the UFC in terms of having multiple yet different primes

@@ProfessionalCurryDefender Definitely not. They faked the stats like they did first fight. Gustafsson was tagging him the whole time. See that fight again.
Jones for the exact things that he showed in this fight. That's why I came back to watch it. I remember Jon sort of neutralizing Gustafsson's movement with those weird kicks to the knee and leg that Jon does. People think that Jon is just gonna wrestle Gane; I think he will try just to see if it works and if he can hold him down. He will try mixing up strikes with shoots to see how Gane's wrestling improves. If Gane is too strong or defends the takedowns well, Jon will just chop his legs and knees everytime he tries to get his movement going, then once he sort of messes up Gane's rhythm, the Takedowns will come
@@HandsomeJackoff He didn't do any better. Jones barely trained for that fight. It has been confirmed by his coach and friends. He didn't train for Gustafsson and only partied. No gameplan. Just go and fight. Here we see the difference when Jones trains and has a gameplan.
@@notshared4072 he’s being Generous. GSP is the only one worthy of being called “🐐.” 2 losses were avenged, Beat everyone he fought, 9 Consecutive Defenses in a Stacked WW Division. 16:12 looks like Jones was trying to choke him out, but Gus kept defending the choke, so Jones got pissed off and just decided to beat the shit out of him
14:48 Jon Jones had been feinting a takedown all towards the end of the 2nd round and Gus was reacting to stop it each time. This time Jon Jones feinted it and Gus didn't react as strongly as he did in the 2nd so Jon Jones went in for a full takedown shortly after, masterful stuff.
