Hi I'm keeping the pied mexican spinytail iguana from Korea. I can't understand your video because I can't listening englishTT. What do you supply for ctenosaura? I'm giving the vegetable three times a week and protein such as insect once a week. Is it correct?
How can I send a picture of my spiny black tailed iguana. To me he is most unusual. He is outside. I started feeding him a year ago and now he comes right up to me. But yesterday I saw him with a bird in his mouth! I didn’t know they did that anyway, I got a picture of it and I wanted to post it
Yes just as some of the other folks have pointed out these Mexican Spiny Tails species of iguanas are totally legal in Florida they do not fall under the Florida Iguana law which prohibits the breeding an even owning of Green Iguanas (Iguana iguana)
Unless these have different care requirements then the average green iguana, please correct me if there is, Iguanas are not omnivores in the wild, thats not even debatable, and its generally unhealthy to feed them anything but a vegetarian diet. As a biologist (granted an ornithologist) not reptiles, but i did keep iguanas for about a dozen yrs and read everything available and research available and thats ehat other biologists say, soo let me know. Just cause theyll eat it, and enjoy it, doesnt mean its good for them
These iguanas require a smaller enclosure insects or another insect protein substitute as a baby every meal (mixed in with greens). As adults they eat insects 2 times a week and vegetables will suffice every other meal.
