I Don't even speak their language but in assuming it went like Annoyed girlfriend : why are you throwing are food into the lava?? How old are you 13?? Cameraman : babe, chill, it's for RU-vid @.@
I'm Icelandic. Here's the translation. Woman: "Why on earth did you do that?" Man: "What?" Woman: "What was that for?" Man: "To get 1000 views on RU-vid." *banana gets covered by lava* "See, there! It's gone!" I couldn't hear the last thing he said at the end.
The symbolic offering of fruit to the volcano is believed to be part of an elaborate harvest ritual, performed in small, precisely timed sacred acts on following a strict yearly schedule
This was oddly anticlimactic. I expected the banana to catch on fire or sink in, but instead it just got covered slowly. I guess sometimes real life is disappointing. At least I can rest easy knowing what a banana in Icelandic lava looks like.
Dangerous, especially with hiw windy it is there, we saw at the end were the grass that wasn't on fire in front of him quickly started to blaze as the lava touched it, if quickly could have ready his feet with the rights gusts of wind
2000 years later... " archeoligists have determined that around the turn of the 20th century, iceland was a tropical climate and covered in banana trees"
Funny, but it also makes me legitimately wonder how much confusion and misinformation there will be for future archeologists created by humans just doing weird things and putting stuff where it's not supposed to be.
@@MisterMelange 'Yes, sir director. It appear that this male from the early part of the 2000 was buried with a harmonica up his bottom. We are not sure if this was an accident or part of some previously unrecorded funeral ceremony.'
@@MisterMelange One single item does not paint a big enough picture. There's plenty of finds that have Archeologists discussing trade and travel. Humans for hundreds of thousands of years have walked very long distances, and have exchanged goods with each other. One banana would just be a "oh wow look at these guys able to send a banana all that way". Would still be a really cool find because it'd tell a story in itself, but it wouldn't be confused for "banana grow in iceland" lmao.
That's what I was thinking. Like one slip and you are absolute toast and not like the banana. It's gonna look and feel a helluva different. The human body has nerves and senses which I can guarantee are going to come really active for a short period of time... Haha kinda like the volcano! See what I did there?
Just FYI, in Hawaii (not here), volcanoes are considered sacred and it's believed that the rocks have ties to their ancestors. So in Hawaii this would in fact be disrespectful to their culture
Exactly it's What prophet Mohammed Told us before 1400 years ago , this is sign of Helfire, and it will be harder for the Lava 1000 times, those non believers they go for ever, that's why you see Money people convert to islam
@@tonysoldan You were the Chosen Fruit! It was said you would destroy the Hunger, not join it. Bring Potassium to The Diet, not leave it in indigestion!
In about 65 million years, an Icelandic Palaeontologist will unearthed this banana, resulting in the Palaeontologist assuming that Iceland was once a tropical island😂
I used to always think it was unrealistic the way Gollum died in the lava at the end of Lord of the Rings. Now I realize he was literally just a banana.

@@abdirisakdirie3124bro it's a gut throwing a banana into a volcano...its not that deep also money people convert to Islam because it damn near allows slavery to a tee...
@@abdirisakdirie3124 This has nothing to do with religion, it has to do with movement of tectonic plates and pressure inside the Earth causing a volcanic eruption. Lava is just molten rock. It is all explained by scientific principles, no deity necessary.

Senior Banologist here. While your stats are in line with what's currently accepted as the industry standard for the approximate percentage of fire resistant bananas, I doubt the probability of one being present in this video. Let me break it down to a number, rather than a percentage. Adult bananas weigh between four and five ounces. 16 oz = 1 lb, and 2000 lb = 1 ton. So if we take the median weight of 4.5 ounces, we get 7111.1 bananas per ton. The yearly global production of bananas is about 105 million tons, so we're looking at a total of 746,665,500,000 bananas produced globally every year. Multiply that by 0.02, and we're left with 1,493,331,000 fire resistant bananas. While 1.493331 billion fire resistant bananas sounds like a lot, it is statistically nearly impossible that one ended up in this video. PS: all joking aside, I really did spend about ten minutes googling those stats and mathing it out. That's the real world data analyst in me. :-D
