I Don't even speak their language but in assuming it went like Annoyed girlfriend : why are you throwing are food into the lava?? How old are you 13?? Cameraman : babe, chill, it's for RU-vid @.@
ITS OVER BANAKEN I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND......YOU UNDERESTIMATE MY FLAAAAAAAVER. NO DONT TRY IT. YOU WHERE THE CHOSEN ONE. IT WAS SAID YOU'D DESTROY FLAMATION NOT DIVE INTO IT. BRING BALANCE TO THE GUT NOT LEAVE IT IN DARKNESS
The symbolic offering of fruit to the volcano is believed to be part of an elaborate harvest ritual, performed in small, precisely timed sacred acts on following a strict yearly schedule
I'm Icelandic. Here's the translation. Woman: "Why on earth did you do that?" Man: "What?" Woman: "What was that for?" Man: "To get 1000 views on RU-vid." *banana gets covered by lava* "See, there! It's gone!" I couldn't hear the last thing he said at the end.
This was oddly anticlimactic. I expected the banana to catch on fire or sink in, but instead it just got covered slowly. I guess sometimes real life is disappointing. At least I can rest easy knowing what a banana in Icelandic lava looks like.
Jesus is the only way to healing, restoration and salvation to all souls. Please turn to him and he will change your life, depression into delight, soul heading from hell to heaven all because of what he did on the cross “Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13

That's what I was thinking. Like one slip and you are absolute toast and not like the banana. It's gonna look and feel a helluva different. The human body has nerves and senses which I can guarantee are going to come really active for a short period of time... Haha kinda like the volcano! See what I did there?
@@tonysoldan You were the Chosen Fruit! It was said you would destroy the Hunger, not join it. Bring Potassium to The Diet, not leave it in indigestion!
Dangerous, especially with hiw windy it is there, we saw at the end were the grass that wasn't on fire in front of him quickly started to blaze as the lava touched it, if quickly could have ready his feet with the rights gusts of wind
2000 years later... " archeoligists have determined that around the turn of the 20th century, iceland was a tropical climate and covered in banana trees"
Funny, but it also makes me legitimately wonder how much confusion and misinformation there will be for future archeologists created by humans just doing weird things and putting stuff where it's not supposed to be.
@@MisterMelange 'Yes, sir director. It appear that this male from the early part of the 2000 was buried with a harmonica up his bottom. We are not sure if this was an accident or part of some previously unrecorded funeral ceremony.'
@@MisterMelange One single item does not paint a big enough picture. There's plenty of finds that have Archeologists discussing trade and travel. Humans for hundreds of thousands of years have walked very long distances, and have exchanged goods with each other. One banana would just be a "oh wow look at these guys able to send a banana all that way". Would still be a really cool find because it'd tell a story in itself, but it wouldn't be confused for "banana grow in iceland" lmao.
Just FYI, in Hawaii (not here), volcanoes are considered sacred and it's believed that the rocks have ties to their ancestors. So in Hawaii this would in fact be disrespectful to their culture
Plot twist: the conversation they're having is more interesting than the banana experiment. (Especially given that this guy's reached 30,000x what he initially set out to achieve)
Exactly it's What prophet Mohammed Told us before 1400 years ago , this is sign of Helfire, and it will be harder for the Lava 1000 times, those non believers they go for ever, that's why you see Money people convert to islam
After 10000 years people on earth find proof of fruits existence. The greatest discover of that century. Thank this man for preserving it in a solid form
Senior Banologist here. While your stats are in line with what's currently accepted as the industry standard for the approximate percentage of fire resistant bananas, I doubt the probability of one being present in this video. Let me break it down to a number, rather than a percentage. Adult bananas weigh between four and five ounces. 16 oz = 1 lb, and 2000 lb = 1 ton. So if we take the median weight of 4.5 ounces, we get 7111.1 bananas per ton. The yearly global production of bananas is about 105 million tons, so we're looking at a total of 746,665,500,000 bananas produced globally every year. Multiply that by 0.02, and we're left with 1,493,331,000 fire resistant bananas. While 1.493331 billion fire resistant bananas sounds like a lot, it is statistically nearly impossible that one ended up in this video. PS: all joking aside, I really did spend about ten minutes googling those stats and mathing it out. That's the real world data analyst in me. :-D
LMAOOOO 🤣🤣🤣 or somehow, someway the lava perfectly preserves the banana and it ends up in a museum.. causing the biggest mystery in the world 💀 The ancient people before us had pyramids.. stonehenge.. etc. ..we got a banana lolol
Leidenfrost effect. When a heat source it hot enough ANY moisture between the source and an object of friction causes the moisture to act as a buffer layer from the heat by its own rapid evaporation which is stunted by the evaporation process happening too rapidly. Example you'd probably recognize: hot pan on the stove that gets some water dropped in it. Sort of cool - water is just water. Sort of hot - water evaporates fairly quickly. Very hot - water dances around for awhile before evaporating. And takes much longer to evaporate than at the lower heat. I dont recommend trying this on a glass top stove because it can cause the glass to break. But if this happens on the stove top surface and you put the pan on top of the water trying to evaporate away, it will take much Longer to because the water molecules trying to turn into vapor have nowhere to escape to. So they becomes this sort of barrier between the heat source and the surface trapping them. Which actually also acts as a barrier to the heat. This is also the mechanism that makes "fire walking" work. The people who walk barefoot on red hot coals. ....which has always made me wonder if someone COULD fire walk lava. But I think because it's too liquid (and dangerous if it doesn't work) nobody would ever intentionally try. Probably for the best. Thank you for reading my TED talk about why the banana didn't combust. 😂

I mean considering lava mows down houses, trees, cars, buildings and literally almost everything in its path, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the banana didn't make it ....

I'm icelandic, here's the translation: woman: "why did you hit literally the most solid part of the lava. it's very unsatisfying." man: "that will actually make it perform better on youtube"
"Millions of years ago this was once a lush tropical forest producing fruits like this fossil called a Chiquita. This particular example was serial # 4011. We presume it was used in some sort of sacrificial ceremony indicating the Chiquita was highly valued in their society." "...1,000 views for RU-vid."
I was eating a delicious cookie and when I saw this I laughed and accidentally spat out a piece and it landed on my cats forehead because she was laying next to me. Which made me laugh even more
There is a bit of telescopic foreshortening going on. You can tell by the way the banana moves when he tosses it. Lava is a bit further than it appears. If I had to guess it is likely 2x tele.
Woman: "We have 30 minutes of sunlight today, and this is how you chose for us to spend it?" Man: "It's a romantic date by lavalight! You didn't make a wish when we threw this fruit into this well? Don't you appreciate how much it cost me to have a banana shipped to Iceland?"
