A lot of stuff that came out in the early 90s, when the style was changing again, and the post-punk/new wave thing was a spent force, was missed and never got the right appreciation.

This is one of their strongest and inventive compositions, which makes it unfortunate how poorly it performed on the charts (suffering from a lack of promotion at the time). The whole Pop Life album is one of their most listenable and creative albums.

It is a great bananarama Track but at the time there was so much better tracks out there preacher man was epic and should have been top 5 but i am not shocked this was not a big hit.

@@BlytheWorld1972The album version for this is better, in my opinion. "Ain't No Cure" is definitely 1 of Bananarama's best Stock, Aitken & Waterman ever produced tracks and should have been a released single and also a top 5 song back then...

@@BlytheWorld1972 Ironically, overall speaking, their bigger hits, with the exception of "Venus", weren't from SAW but from Jolley & Swain team of production, being "Cruel Summer" the biggest one of them up until today..."Cruel Summer" is even nowadays heavily played in radios all over the world...plus, between 1981 and 1986, when they were produced by Jolley & Swain, they had more hits in America and elsewhere in the world than with SAW, with the exception of "Venus"...

Highly Underrated, but should be qualified as a hit in the sense that it got into the top20 clubcharts in at least a dozen big countries(=populationwise) and was played maily (in a remixed form) at the cool radio stations and both at the trendy and respected underground clubs. Which was rare considering they were such a sucessfull and commercial act. Had it been a radio smash that probably wouldnt had happen. So something good came out of it. They got their cred back.

Jason Wright: You have several versions of this song out there...search for their compilations or "Pop Life" album expanded version...there's 1 that is actually better and less dated than this one...you also have a George Michael remix...
