This is part of a Christmas Acoustics Concert held last Christmas day 2021. Im telling you they're versatile and not genre restricted. It a beautiful song to react to. Thank you for reacting to this one Jules. 👍😁❤️

The whole Christmas Day concert was great. Akane played a cajon for one song with Saiki and Miku. Miku played guitar with just Akane and Misa for support for two songs -- she played and sang well ("Time" and "Sayonakidori"). It wasn't all five for every song. For something different again, watch their song "Gion-cho" -- under their pseudonym "Band-Maiko" (maiko are apprentice geisha). It was an April 1st treat for their fans -- a very beautiful video with a different style of music (a little more traditional Japanese).

Good news...on April 27 the 14 song acoustic Christmas concert will be released on CD..having watched this concert (streaming service archived) about a dozen times I highly recommend getting a copy! Peace and Respect from 🇨🇦

So glad they're releasing the live acoustic set as its own album. I really hope the announcement wasn't an April Fools joke.

This is one song from a whole acoustic show released Christmas day, 2021. Today is April fools day. A couple years ago on April First they released a song called "Secret MAIKO Lips" by BAND-MAIKO. You must check it out I feel it's a logical next move. .

Yay, a reactor who can not only _pronounce_ "catharsis" but even knows what it means! 🧐😄 There are several segments in this concert with different member groupings: full band (first four and last three songs), Saiki & Kanami, Saiki + Kanami + Misa, Miku + Misa + Akane, and Saiki + Akane + Miku. In that last grouping, Akane plays a cajon instead of the kit. As to the bass, remember that Misa plays a five-string. There are, as best I can tell, only two 5-string acoustic basses on the market, a $400 Ibanez and an $800 ESP. Those price points indicate that they're not top-flight instruments. She _could_ have re-written all her parts for her old 4-string Fender, but they already spent two or three times longer than usual prepping for this concert with all the different arrangements - for instance, other than the basic chords and melody, this version is _very_ different from the one on the album.

This was from an online concert on December 25, which they just announced will be release on April 27.

This was just part of a complete acoustic set. It was available online until last week. But not any more. The CD/DVD will be released on 27th of April. Another great acoustic song live in concert is 'Puzzle'. Just Saiki & Kanami. Kanami's voice is really something special in that one.

A little history; track 2 of the Band-Maid "Just Bring It" album is "Puzzle." It's a fantastic song, highly recommended. A live version from one of their concert DVDs made it to RU-vid and everyone raved over it: It's a song about how their "missing piece of the puzzle" is never going to be with them; (already married as I understand it, but it is a different language). It's loud and angry and heartbroken. Dishes may have been thrown. They performed it again later, at a different concert, as an acoustic song with just Saiki and Kanami on guitar and backing vocals (with "Anemone" done the same way directly after it). The contrast between those two versions of the song is truly breathtaking; the acoustic version is tender and disappointed and heart wrenching, but it's the exact same song. The uploads are no longer available although I know some reactors have seen them; you might reach out to Wave Potter, Ryan Mear, or A Metalheads Perspective and ask if they have any advice, or check the Band-Maid Prime subscription service. But ever since, the fandom has clamored for more acoustic from them. They've done some songs as semi-acoustic, like "Smile" and this concert (that is, with electric bass and drum kit). There was as commentary that went along with the live stream; in it Akane said that was not her usual kit but an "acoustic" kit (which I think means smaller) and she used "rods" instead of sticks.They didn't use a baffle around the drums, either. She used a cajon for a couple of songs; she said it was borrowed, a nice one, and she's considering buying it. The guitars and vocals all went through some amplification and processing but it was fairly minimal. You can hear some reverb and delay in places, and they probably did some equalization, there was a synth string backing track on "Page", but it is all unobtrusive. They took this video down from RU-vid yesterday, and announced a CD of the concert. Considering all the cameras and lighting, I expected a DVD. One final thing; their October tour sold out, and they've extended it by adding two dates: New Jersey and Chicago. Moe Moe! Kyun Kyun!

I'd suggest you check out the original version from the album "CONQUEROR." Believe it or not- its one of the most instrumentally heavy songs. Keep on rockin' man!

well, sure usually you do not use a full drum set. But this is Band-Maid, they are not usually, they are special.😄

That's the thing about this band. They just make you happy. Their music brings a smile to your face and just fills you with joy. Looking forward to getting this DVD when it releases cause I didn't catch the show. Great reaction - rock on dude.

One of the cool things about this 14 song show was they had multiple combinations. I think it was 5. A couple of songs with just one guitar and Saiki (Manners was done this way). Some songs with guitar, bass, vocals. The had one song with guitar, vocals, and Akane on the Cajon which was really cool. Kept it interesting.

Akane plays the drum you were described in a couple off songs in this concert. There was a video in the past all acoustic where Akane played one of those drums too . I have heard an acoustic bass before, but I think it would not stick out enough for Misa's parts.

If it does go away, don't worry. Cluppo made an announcement the other day that the band would release an acoustic cd of the concert at the end of April. That little musical interlude, I call an acoustic romp. Imagine ponies (or children) running, jumping, and playing in a meadow.

CATHARSIS on accoustic is nice But, but go and listen to PUZZLE on accoustic is more touching and d feel is on different level

Another great video! 👍 Misa is all about the tone (you can notice that on the heavier songs where she slides all the way up on a thicker string instead of just going to a thinner one on the same fretting, for instance) so the choice of her Black Cloud here is most likely because of that. This show (or "okyu-ji", as they call it) was amazing, but sadly it's no longer available anywhere. Some of their heaviest and craziest songs done in completely different arrangements and everything just worked perfectly! If any of it ever becomes available again I strongly recommend you check it out! 😊

This was part of the Christmas Acoustic mini-concert. So the ladies wanted to give a different, more laid back vibe.

It's funny that you mentioned that it's fun because you can actually see people's eye in this kind of setting. Maids said that they felt awkward about performing in this setting because they could see staff members face so clearly. The place was too bright for them. Check the video again, then you can see Maids are trying not to look straight at the staff side.

Please do a double bill. First Band-Maid 'Secret My Lips' THEN Band-Maiko 'Secret Maiko Lips'. You will love them both and see another side of Band-Maid! Only a few reactors have done both at once, it was great to see their surprise!

You can't hide flaws in an acoustic set. They are near masters at their craft. CD of this Okyu-ji (concert debuted on Christmas day 2021) just went on sale, Po! Yes, Akane said it was a task to use the acoustic drums with her gorilla ways. So, she had to use the hot rod sticks to boot. She also did a song on the cajon.

This whole Christmas acoustic show for the fans was incredible. Highly recommend trying to see it (I think they will sell it shortly, which will be an insta-buy from me). During the show, they performed different songs with 2-3-5 members. Akane indeed pulls out the cajon for a couple songs. I re-watched the show half dozen times lol - it's that good, and exudes such a joyful Christmas vibe. There is also a short "backstage" vid of the band for this performance (for fanclub folks on their website) that shows some of their mistakes (they laugh when they make mistakes - they are a tight group).

The live performance of this song played at their World Domination Tour has a faster tempo.

You should listen/react to their rock version and compare it with this 'stripped down' acoustic version and see how they still can maintain the melody. Cheers !

Puzzle and Puzzle acoustic doubleheader will change your life. Serously. It is beyond amazing. They are a little harder to find (not on Utoob) but well worth the effort. In my opinion, those two versions of Puzzle are their best work.

Yeah, this was taken down yesterday. Thanks for getting to it Jules. They needed to make room for more concert announcements (chicago and new jersey). And a CD release (no DVD yet) of this concert you've just watched. They revamped 14 Rock songs into a supherb Christmas Day acoustic concert for their fans. Some of the many reasons BAND-MAID is Awesome. Peace.

😄 I see from the comments you've been provided the full info on the amazing Band Maid Christmas concert? I'd like to add just how freaking fearless this band is in pushing their own (and our) musical boundaries, think about it , Band Maid acoustic - there's a fair chance the naysayers could have trolled the concert remorselessly also because BM rearranged the tunes for this gig, however, ya can't beat pure class and talent and that's Band Maid 👍 Hmm it sort of reminds me of the beach, oh wait cold beer tastes great at the beach, so yup the beach, Band Maid and beer it is. You picked a bizarre thing to point out about the drums, imho. Very backhanded compliment kinda thing lol. I always wonder, would it kill reactors to write down the names of the band members on a piece of paper before filming? There are still such things as pens and paper nowadays, right?

80% acoustic, and not live, but it's still BAND-MAID.

yeah calling it "accoustic" is a bit of a stretch, it's just acoustic guitars but electric base and full drum set. besides the technicality though, it's stil a great song.

Every time i hear BAND-MAID play i'm Maid for life :)
