Nice reaction. Saiki talked before they sang this song and was very emotional about the past year and what this song meant to the band. Here is the English translation of what she said. Saiki: We were supposed to meet you today. For the first time in a year, we thought we could meet you all, those of you who could come to see us, but we can’t meet you in the end. I’m sorry. Even though it’s not my fault. We have been having days of turmoil for about a year. In the beginning, we were very surprised because we hadn’t experienced it before, and we had no experience of not being able to meet others in person. We were sad, but we found we shouldn’t be sad in this situation. When I saw you masters and princesses on social media, you were more depressed than us, and we thought that’s terrible. We Band-Maid have been thinking about how to cheer up all of you in the last one year. We truly wanted to meet you at Nippon Budokan, but it’s impossible because of COVID, so let’s wait for the day when we can meet. And in the last one year… or in the COVID pandemic, we have become more eager to cheer you up, and we Band-Maid realized again it’s important to give our songs to you. That’s why we wrote this song for Budokan. We made the album also in the pandemic, so it might have a little similar feel, but this song is planned for Nippon Budokan, and we really want to give it to you masters and princesses now. Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more. And they have given ths , this treasure, to mark their place in this world . What a gift and a legacy of pure art they have created, in such a very short time.

Thanks for getting the context of the song right off the bat. In the live show (which this video was taken from), Saiki introduced the song in the most heartfelt way. Had most of us on the verge of tears even before the first notes sounded.

100 out of 10. You'll see when you watch some of their live videos in front of a crowd, that the audience participation launches Band-Maid into the stratosphere! (But I see now that you did react to Domination live last June, so, you do already know.)

As an unabashed love letter to their fans, as you said, it is sheer perfection. With that said, although lyrically, it fits with Unseen World, musically it would've killed the vibe of the album. I think they saw that hence this being released as a separate single. Not a single member phoned this in, every one of them went all in on this song. That being said, there is one member that shines just a bit brighter than the others, not by design but if you're not listening for it you could miss it. That honor goes to Misa. This is far and away her best line to date. Not only does it groove incredibly hard with the drums, it's completely unobtrusive whilst weaving through and around all the other parts and holding everything together.

Thank you for this. Another wonderful review of a wonderful song by the wonderful Beth. It’s difficult to compare them to any other band. Whatever style they lay their hands on they turn it into gold. At the moment Band-Maid can only be topped by themselves.

I'm always listening to some extreme metal bands but band-maid has already found it's way into my heart in every music that they perform.. it's never too corny ang cringy to listen to them, they are precious.. 🤘🤘♥️♥️

Against all odds, this song is turning even hard core metal reactors heads.. it’s just SO good. New sub here - great reaction. Yes, pretty much anything live is awesome and on another level. My only exception to this is Rinne. The MV is the best by far.

Great reaction and FYI, there _are_ numbers higher than 10 :) . For live MV just pick any one from their channel, you won't be disappointed. Band-Maid is proof that the whole is greater than the parts. Each member brings something unique to this band and when combined, you get something that only a very few bands achieve (the Beatles come to mind).

You're the first one I've seen who paid attention to the lyrics and interpreted them right the first time. It's a 'love letter' and a 'thank you' to the fans and the ladies' way of sharing their feelings from last year and all the pandemic stuff with us and encouraging us at the same time. Everything else you've already said: Close to perfection! The song could be a template for other bands out there who might not know how to express feelings through music. Both instrumentally but especially vocally.

Nice one Beth, no talking while the band was playing......really well done. So many other, usually men, can not keep quiet.

Live is the best way...You will always find extras. They have a habit of changing their songs from tour to tour. They like to keep things fresh.( Adding new intro's,solo's ,middle sections etc.) Prime example: Domination MV vs Live. No contest. Live wins 100 out of 100.
