While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. Welcome to Band Maid! The best rock band on the planet (imo of course) Don't worry, I don't speak a lick of Japanese, and I sing along all the time to it. Most of the videos have subtitles, some of the older ones like this do not. What you will notice when you listen to songs with subtitles, you'll see that they actually mix a lot of english into most of their songs. Check out Dice, Blooming, and Choose Me.
Band-Maid does have a handful of songs sung entirely in English. They also add in English words or phrases. You didn't catch it but this video has some English sentences... "I'm just suffocating here" "I need escape from this place here" "I wanna go away in 3, 2, 1 go" I am surprised that you couldn't find any lyrics online as they are easy to find. Also, always turn on the CC closed captions when watching Band-Maid videos as most of their later stuff is captioned in English. Some song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum. Their latest live videos from Yokohama Arena are incredible. Don't You Tell Me and Hate are straight up bangers with guitar vs bass duels, and Endless Story is a tear jerker that even choked up the singer, Saiki, and the drummer, Akane, since it was the last song of their 10th year anniversary tour. Also, they just released a collaboration with The Warning called Show Them which is a must listen.

Welcome to the amazing world of Band-Maid. Great reaction and music is a universal language. My Japanese is not as good as it should be, but it really doesn't matter, it's about the music and how it makes you feel and if you enjoy it. I often will not put on the CC on the first listen as I want to hear as much as possible. Reading the subtitles will often distract me enough I miss some stuff. You'll find with Band-Maid, there is so much going on, a distraction of a few seconds, you could miss something. BM4-Life had you listen to one of their older tracks, but a huge milestone song for the Maids. This was the first song which the Maids wrote and the label approved. Since then, they pretty much write all their music. The pigeon hole is deep and diverse, so enjoy the journey. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 Some songs to consider: "From Now On" OMV - An amazing instrumental. No lyrics and Kanami takes the lead with her guitar. "Hate?" Official Live MV - from their 10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. You'll be having conversation on the amazing bass and "guitar conversation" "Blooming" OMV - Kanami's (lead guitar and main composer) assigned "homework" to her fellow Maids to come up with a part for this song. She took their homework...massaged and stitched all together into a masterpiece. "Daydreaming" OMV - A rock ballad masterpiece. "Trill" OMV - Another step back into the past, with another milestone marker in their history. Their first MV and the song which saved the band. Luckily, the Maids insisted on this song vs what their Label wanted to do for their first song. The song went viral and the rest is history...now in their 11th year.

I sing along even if I don't speak the language. The lyrics are usually available in Romaji (Japanese written in Latin alphabets.) Although it helps that I've been listening to Japanese music since 2005 and watching anime regularly since that time as well.

It only takes about 5 seconds to Google translated lyrics either way. Don't let the costumes fool you. They are a 100% legit band that,s been around for 11 years. They have over 130 quality songs (most they wrote themselves). and have a new album coming out in a few days. They are well worth your time.

They are primarily a hard rock band that leans to the progressive side in style but their music crosses many genres sometimes within one song. They are great musicians with an amazing singer. Kanami the lead guitarist writes all of their music, she is a musical savant and a prolific songwriter. They pack so much into their songs that after the twentieth time listening you can hear something new and best of all they ( the songs) are very appealing to your ears. They have soooo many great songs do buckle up enjoy the ride these ladies are amazing.

If you give these ladies a chance, after a few songs you will forget about lyrics and the melodies alone will carry you through. You will find some songs that have the lyrics available in English and they are excellent. Positive, uplifting, spiritual, heart breaking, and empowering lyrics. After awhile you will get used to the accented English and be able to pick out the English words they use. Their music might sound simple but is actually complicated and takes many listens for the average person to enjoy more and more. When you see the Englush words flashed big on an MV it will help you focus and hear them. Even Lovebites that sings in English is difficult to understand, again because the music is so awesome it is difficult to focus on lyrics. Again there is accented English that takes developing g an ear for. I think that you guys like many of us enjoy the many accents that people of other countries have. We all have accents and it is a good thing, imo.
Cool, most of their songs do have english subtitles (CC's), but a very few don't. When, not if, you react to "HATE?", make SURE they're on - the lyrics are eviscerating! As an aside, is the young lady an actress, might be mistaking her for someone else, but I'm fairly sure I've seen her before? Regardless, you make an adorable couple 👍😎
