5 hours and 49 minutes. That's how long my BAND-MAID playlist is. NO band, absolutely NO band before BAND-MAID recorded that much music that I want to hear on a regular basis. Not the Beatles, not Van Halen, not Rush, I love them all but NONE of them compare in terms of amount of or variety of music that BAND-MAID has recorded. And my list is only studio recordings. For me, they are simply put, the best rock and roll band of my lifetime. I love this song, it's one of my favorite mid-tempo songs. All of their mid-tempo songs are beautiful, some of them so beautiful that I can't listen without tearing up. I am so happy you guys like BAND-MAID.........I can't imagine a better combo, my favorite reactors and my favorite band. ROCK ON BROTHERS!
Thanks guys! I kind of figured you would like the groove on this one. Band-Maid covers multiple genre and has multiple "slower" songs. The bass player and drummer both went to the Tokyo School of Music, at that same time, and both were trained in Jazz/Blues/Classical. Band-Maid doesn't sing many songs in English and that is the only reason, I can think of, that they are not bigger than they are. The past couple years they have stepped up in popularithy but they are still yet to be mainstream. I have seen them live 3 times now (Chicago, Nashville, and Salt Lake City) and they are the best live band I have seen, in my 56 years.
Ah! This song is just so fantastic. No other band that I have known in 60 years of listening to music has ever come close to this. It takes me to another world. This transcends all music. They are getting bigger- 3 tours in the US 2022 and 2023.
My favourite song by these fabulous ladies! Btw, all the live footage you watch is from different shows over the years. And yes they do sound this good live, I've seen them four times, once in a tiny basement of 350 people (with Kanami the lead guitarists whole family in the crowd) And they still sounded this good.
Band-Maid did tour the US in 2022 and 2023 ! They sold out most of their concerts ! I saw them at the "Aftershock" Festival in California and "Rockville" at The Daytona Speedway ! My favorite Band-Maid song is "Blooming" MV But they do have a song that is pretty funky called "Manners " Official MV Thank Guys =)
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Manners & Bubble. You guys should also check out The Warning. Both bands are big fans of each other They recently dropped a song collab called Show Them. Was lucky enough to see their joint show in Tokyo where they live debuted their collab
Check out their latest instrumental FROM NOW ON and the triumvirate will be ingrained in your soul. Why aren't they bigger? That's another question for the ages. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace.
Their videos have a similar look because most of their Live videos are from just 2 concerts that were put out on Bluray. Bad for reviewers since they have put out 8 total concerts on Bluray. So many great performances!
Yeah, this hidden gem is one of my favorite. They are not bigger because people don't give then a chance due to the maid costume and some of the ones that do is because of the language.
And yes we all wonder why this band isn't already a household name the world over. Part of the reason of course is that they're Japanese and mostly sing in Japanese. For me, not being a lyrics guy anyway, this made no difference. But to many of my friends they won't even give them a chance. But it's been a fact for my entire life that great bands fly under the radar. Doesn't mean I get it.
Band Maid can play any style of music excellently. If you want to hear a truly beautiful song listen to ABOUT US which was a love song written to the fans and played online during the pandemic lock down. Best rock band on the planet. They don't have a bad song and their fans are totally loyal. I found them when I was 65 or 66 and I'm now almost 73 and I can't stop listening to them. There are only three bands I've ever felt this way about and Band Maid is one of them. I love this band, great stage presence, great songwriting and they nail it every time they play. There's not a bad song and you can take that to the bank.
Thanks once again gents for a great reaction to a great band! I don't know why I hadn't subbed before, but I have now! Looking forward to more reactions from you two to Band-Maid!
'They're not the greatest musicians' - seriously? 🤔 MISA (bassist), Akane (drummer) & Kanami (lead guitar) are some of the best to ever play their instruments! 😎
@@Davey-Boyd The statement was some of the best ever to play their instruments… They are good.. but I wouldn’t put them in the best ever to play their instruments category.. then again, I’ve only heard one song so I’ll defer to your vastly superior knowledge Mr. Musician…
@@VincentAgostino-gy6hr Respect. But you have only heard one song? Trust me, they are as good as it gets. Especially MISA on bass, Akane on drums and Kanami on lead guitar (and phenomenal composer) are at the top of their game and world class and respected. In fact each of them don't sound like anybody else, they are unique.
They are musicians first and rock goddesses second. They can do any style, any genre of music they want to, I bet they could kick out some funk if they wanted to, but all they do is Band Maid stuff.
I think they're not as big here as they could be because they sing mostly in Japanese. Also, they're signed to a Japanese record label, and their home turf was their big priority, especially early on. The more they tour the States, the bigger they'll get.
