Band Maid Be OK At Club Crawl Tokyo reaction 

"Nobody is ever getting that close to the crowd again" They still play clubs like these. I saw them last October in a tiny basement club, standing capacity was 350. No barriers, no security and with Kanami's family in the crowd too. The crowd all had towels and sweat was dripping off the ceiling! Only difference is now they have their own sound engineer! They also get very close to the audience in Europe depending on venue. Notice Miku isn't even holding her guitar at this point?

First song on their first album. "It's gonna be OK" Well, they are doing pretty ok at the moment.

I normally also prefer more professional sound, but I actually love this recording. It has an unbelievable presence. It feels like you are there. I have spent a lot of time in clubs like this with live bands that has this sound, and this video make me relive those moments.

I dig the "Garage Band" sound....so raw. These girls were ALWAYS tight, not one note or beat out of place. Akane is working her little Gorilla butt off. Miku's headbanging is priceless.

As an old punk rocker from the 80s, I love this old music from Band Maid. Reminds me of the Japanese punk bands that used to come to Australia back in the 80s and yep, same sound quality. Now that I live in Japan, I’ve been lucky enough to see Band Maid at small local music venues, they still play them.

Hey Jammer. This is back when the band was playing short sets in small clubs to small crowds, nearly always as one of several bands on the playbill. I think they were still learning how to be professionals in a band. They were also not playing their own music, the composers and lyricists were provided by their management company. The first song credited to them ("Alone") wasn't released until the following year. The interesting thing about the timing of this performance is that their big break as a band had occurred just the month before when the MV for their song "Thrill" had gone viral after it was posted on Facebook by Jrock Radio. Thanks for the reaction--interesting to see how far they have come.

Pre-throst surgery, pre-gorilla posture lessons, pre-barefeet, pre-PRS, pre-Zemaitis, pre-Omaginaitime, pre-everything but talent Band-Maid. Love it! This song reminds me of The Rembrandts or The Producers. Also, doesn't the Hello Hello Hello sound familiar? 🕊️

This definitely has that early 80's local new wave bar vibe, love the energy here.

So many of their earlier songs were steeped in 'Punk DNA" Reminds me of 'The Go-Go's', 'Bananarama', 'The Bangles' etc.

I know it's not standard Band-Maid fare, but this pop punk rock song by the Maids is so damned much fun.

Band-Maid's older, somewhat overlooked songs are going to be rediscovered for years to come. This will bring a continuous flow of new fans into their fold. Some of these tunes are heavy, hard punk rock adding a new depth of artistry to the Maids many fans didn't know they had. Of course, for Maidiacs, they always knew about these bitchin tunes long ago and still listen to them all the time. Thx, Joe!

I was at their Phoenix show in 2022, very small venue, under 300 mostly standing in the room. I was on the rail in front of Kanami, and when she would come to the front of the stage for her solo's she was just out of arms reach, right in your face(I have photos to prove it), and there was minimal security. Everyone was respectful and there were no problems and it was a great performance.

Yup, pretty much everything has changed drastically, except they're all the same people. Still kinda fun to reach back into their earliest days.

This is band maid at it's rawest. Reminds me when I was a kid going to see my friends play. Miku and saiki have gone into the crowd on their servings before. Miku looked so short surrounded by a bunch of Americans
