I've seen a fair number of rock bands in my 76 years. I can no longer go to live concerts and so I have to view them at home via streaming or DVD/Blu-ray. Band-Maid, watched at home, brings me the same or better experience as the best bands I've ever seen live in person. This show was the final one of their 10th anniversary tour. 3 1/2 hours, 33 songs, and much, much interaction with the crowd. They are very skilled, musicians, songwriters, lyricists, and live performers. They bring me joy with every performance I watch or re-watch. I hope you too enjoy this ride.
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
"Bass doesn't always get the love they deserve. " Welcome to Japanese music and Band-Maid in particular. Bass is front and center. Some of the greatest bassists on the planet are Japanese women.

Thank you so much for stopping by, checking it out, and leaving so much information. These young ladies have blown me away. I will most certainly be checking out more in the future, and appreciate your suggestions.
I caught BAND-MAID live in Minneapolis last year. A smaller stage, without the lasers and the smoke. Even so, their sheer virtuosity and energy are overwhelming. And then, there's the obvious joy every one of the five take in their music, and in performing. You can see it on their faces.
@@mymorningmayhem I second what @kla4600 said, I too, was at that show in "Mini-police" as Miku would say. That was a busy weekend for the Maids, they played a full set (19 songs) that ended @1am Friday morning, then about 12 hrs later they did 13 songs for Lollapalooza Chicago and Sunday's okyu-ji in Minneapolis was 19 songs.
The Maids have been around for 11 years and have about 130 songs in their catalog, plus a new album out this summer. Misa, the bassist, is definitely a Band-Maid, secert weapon. She is fantastic !! 😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
Clearly. That kind of catalog is mind-blowing. I've been given some great recommendations for more songs to check out, and I've heard they don't put out a bad song, so I'm looking forward to this journey.
Was working in rock business over 25 years, seen few thousand gigs, seen all the major ones multiple times and NEVER seen better band than Band-Maid. They have it all..Passion Work Heart Talent. 11 years and 130+ songs of pure greatness. Magical band, amazing musicians, humble humans. They are on their own level ❤️ Japan’s rock/metal-scene is also on their own level nowadays. Rock is not dead, it lives in Japan. These amazing ladies should get so much more credit and glory here in western world. There are dozens of great All Female Bands in Japan who deserves to be known like Nemophila, Lovebites, Scandal, Gacharic Spin, Hanabie, Trident, Nek!, Bridear, Fate Gear just for starters 😂 Greets from Finland 🇫🇮🤘
What up Finland! 🤘 I think you may have just opened the door to a whole other journey. That's quite the list to get started on. May very well start throwing some of them into the mix. Thanks!
@@mymorningmayhem Haha. You’re welcome 🤘 Lot’s of people are doin’ everything they can do, to get these amazing band known all over the world. Actually Lovebites and Hanabie are touring in Europe right now and most of the shows been sold-out 👍 For me..Most promising metalband of these is Nemophila, you could watch some of their Official Live Videos..( Oiran, Revive, Rise, Zen etc..) Glad you liked Band-Maid, Lovin them ❤️
Welcome to Band Maid! The best rock band on the planet (imo of course). I’ve been to 2 live shows here in the states, the shows are a lot more paired down as far as lasers and smoke and that, but these ladies still put on a show. They make sure the crowd is having a great time and is into it. Saiki (lead singer) is excellent at getting everyone involved. They also do little comedy bits and other crowd interactions that are very entertaining and few times a show. Enjoy checking out more, they don’t know how to release a bad song, so you’ll have plenty to enjoy.
Thanks so much! And yes, @rogerchance5309 is my new best friend for suggesting this one. I need an afro for listening to these happy little bands, I think. LOL!
Thank you for reacting to the Greatest band on earth!! I have been around since the Van Halen, Rush days. Firmly believe the bassist ,MISA, is the best alive today. Actually I can go on and on about how much each of the members of Band Maid are the best around at their craft, but you’ll see if you keep reacting to them. Try ‘Moratorium’ or ‘Take me higher’ for some good ol’ fashion rock. Just pick any song and you won’t be disappointed. I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤
Remember to turn on the Closed Caption when checking out Band-Maid. You missed out on some of the best put down or dis lyrics ever recorded. (lol) Misa (Barefoot Assassin) Lead Bass is given all the time she needs to shine. There are no ego clashes in Band-Maid. They truly love what they are doing and appreciate each other and their fans as well.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. The more reactions that you get to do, you will get to appreciate the musicianship and mutual love and respect that there is between these ladies and their fans (Maidiacs). I can see already by the numbers that the fans have found you and liked what they saw. Best rhythm section around right now. Great reaction- Thanks (UK)
BAND-MAID are so good that God said he has a special place in heaven for them, but they said they don't need it cos they're already living on cloud nine :)
Band-Maid are extremely talented and considered one of the best hard rock bands in the world ! If you like the bass this is the band for you . Please check out "PLAY" Official Live or the "From Now On" MV thanks Nice Reaction =)
Welcome to the BandMaid experience. The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts: •Bass solos are more likely to happen than not. There's a bass solo in their first video! •Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be •Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen. •Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre! •You like a hard rocking crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version? They do that. •April Fools Day 2019 As a joke they recorded a redo of Secret my Lips with traditional instruments and with lyrics in a Kyoto dialect. MV is stunningly beautiful. •The linchpin member of the band gets the least notice/praise. The Mighty Miku Kobato founder/original lead singer steps back to make way for a new more hard rock vocalist. They want her to hold a guitar so she does and learns to play on the fly, performing all the while she's learning. So the person who willed the band into existence, who is the primary lyricist, the only member who sings and plays an instrument most of the time gets the least comments from reactors. Oh yeah she has her own signature model guitar from Zematis. •10 plus years with the same line up. Think about that. •More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole. •Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics. •Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's. •As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both. •Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese. Most songs are full of joy as well. •They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other. •Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.
I really enjoyed your reaction. You picked up on a lot of details. I have seen Band Maid 4 times here in the US. They were the most enjoyable and interactive concerts I have been to
I'm still recovering from that bass. The whole band was insane, but rarely do I hear bass like that. I'm looking forward to checking more out from them. Thanks for stopping by.
Excellent thing you have discovered the amazing Band Maid! If you want another suggestion check out LOVEBITES: you can see other five fantastic metal women! Japan rules!
Great comments The bassist is usually mentioned a lot. Probably because bass is not a big part of most bands. The drummer is usually 2nd to get noticed. Eventually it dawns on people that every member excels, and is integral to their "sound".
This was the 27th song of their 33 song set at this 10th Anniversary concert last November - very energetic as well as musical maestros! But then they are THE best Hard Rock band on Earth. "Bass doesn't always get the love they deserve" is true...but the brightness of the bass and lead call-and-response here means Akane's incredibly precise and fast drumming is lost in the glare. Totally understandable given the greatness on show! You said at the end that you didn't understand a word - but still loved it! - but there are English subtitles on this MV (and they are really worth reading as they'll make you smile) and also on all their MV's on their YT channel from the past 4 or 5 years and they never block anything from their YT channel.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid Master Chris. If you like the bass, you're going to love Band-Maid. No egos in this band and they all let each other shine. And MISA, all CAPS and no last name, "The Barefoot Assassin", is one of the best bassist in the world right now. As for live shows...yes, it's a must. Even with their smaller production stages, without the all the laser and big video screens, they rock and the energy is through the roof. Great music and their MC's can be quite entertaining in the own right. And the extended solo "conversation" between MISA and Kanami, the lead guitarist and main genius composer, are not in the original song. As a treat for the Masters and Princesses (what the call their fans) at their Okyu-ji's (translate to "Servings", which wat the call their live concerts) you will get extend/added intros and solos. BTW...the whole "Masters and Princesses", "Okyu-ji" and Maid costumes are just some of the elements from the Japan Maid Cafe theme the band is formed around. The deeper you dive into learning about the Maids, the more you will "ah ha" moments as to why they do things. Rambling here...anyway, Band-Maid has a very deep and diverse portfolio, so you only have about 120+ great songs explore, so buckle up and enjoy the journey. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Thanks so much. I'm even more intrigued now, due to the all the love this video is getting and the awesome fans that they have pouring into my comments. You guys are an awesome bunch. Will definitely be checking out more from them.
Welcome & thanks from Japan, the homeland of Band-Maid 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄) Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Thanks for stopping by to check out the reaction. These young ladies are absolutely amazing, and I saw someone else give me a list of other bands from Japan to check out. You guys are definitely keep rock alive. 🤘
You should have the Captions on. But there are Japanese Female Noode Meister Showoff Bands, like LOVEBITES. BAND-MAID aren't that. It's more tasteful. This is about as Showy as they get.
DIFFERENT is another song by BAND-MAID. BAND-MAID are from JAPAN. Few bands have a bassist like MISA. Watch the video again. They put English lyrics in the CC.
Before I ever did a single reaction on here, she and I had started recording some of me introducing her to music from my youth to see what she thought. So I know she's atleast somewhat down to do this. That's an excellent suggestion, and may very well be something we try.
...and a small pigeon shall lead them, under the watchful eye of His Holiness, TinyHat-san who leads BAND-MAID to the "Unseen World" on the way to "World Domination."
@@mymorningmayhemYeah, I think somewhere I wrote that the Maids harvested DNA from Kiss, picked some elements of Rush, and add a measure of Power Rangers to the mix. Lots of fun
The Barefoot Assassin (MISA - bass) is one of the best bassist's out there. The other members are great in their own right. This band is well worth checking out! Welcome to the pigeon hole that is Band Maid.
You’ve just scratched the surface, friend. If you ever get a chance to see Band-Maid, take it. Half their music the crowd is the sixth maid. Check out Domination live (not the MV) or Play live. As a studio track, this doesn’t even break their top 50 imho. Moratorium is my favorite. There is a high quality live version on yt just not on their official channel.
You guys from Germany keep popping up in my comments. You all ROCK 🤘 Thanks for stopping by and checking out the reaction. I really enjoyed listening/watching them.
Band-Maid is based in Tokyo and they call their "maid costumes" their 'Battle Armor'. This was their big Tour Final of their Tenth Anniversary Tour. I saw them perform last May in Detroit at a small club and in Columbus, Ohio at Sonic Temple. The Ladies know how to put on a show. At the small club they talk to the audience during breaks and they are funny and engaging. The rhythm guitarist cheerleads the crowd during her 'Magic Spell time" supposedly blessing the concert while the rest of the band trolls her.
Band Maid adds a lot when they do a live show. They have MC time that is sweet/funny and they add twists to their songs. They always look like they are having the best time of their lives. I saw them at a small venue in Phoenix with my daughter …500 people. I have been to many rock shows from Rush to Zep and the Band Maid show was as good as those bands.
@@mymorningmayhemThe Maids will stir every one of your emotions. Congratulations on improving your life by hearing the Maids. Now you need to head down the “Pigeon Hole” and explore more of their remarkable discography. Next? - “Domination” - official live video. Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎤🥁🎸🎼🙌🏼😎✌🏼
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, a lot of Band-Maid official video's have embedded English subtitles. The lyrics to "Hate?" are effing brutal. They normally play shows of 2+ hours - no support bands, no encores. This show was an epic 3.5 hours long! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
Otherwise known as taking a "Roger Chance" :p . Our MAIDs have been serving up the best hard rock for over 10 years. They play everything ... there is bound to be something (or everything) you like :) . MISA MISA MISA plays lead bass ;) .
You know all the work that goes into the final musical product? The finer details that only the engineers hear? Band Maid will shower you with riches. Brace yourself. Band Maid not only consistently outperforms their studio tracks, but each member gives 110% on every measure of every song, all concert long. The energy you saw here? Every bit of that and more was what I experienced last year in a little 700 capacity club. It was like hearing and seeing Led Zeppelin in a coffeehouse. The Maids deliver. Take your pick: “From Now On,” OMV, heavy metal instrumental “Play,” LIVE, a funky rock intro to one of their most fun arena rock songs “Blooming,” OMV. A little early for this dense, frantic masterpiece of punk/hard rock and alternative…but you’ve been training for this your whole life. “Domination,” official LIVE video. You may want to consider watching this with your little one. Because then you’ll be forced to get tickets the next time Band Maid comes near you I put the Band Maid concert experience I had in the same category as Kiss, 1978 in Detroit. Madonna, second row center at the Silverdome in 1987, and Ozzy with Jake E Lee, front row, 1986. I would take a second mortgage on a house to fly to Japan and see the Maids again. ❤ 🤘🏽
Wow. That's quite a testimony for how great they are. I need to check out some of their studio stuff too. I greatly appreciate attention to detail, like you were saying. A band that does a phenomenal job at that was Porcupine Tree several years ago. Really great production quality. I dig that, and lively live performances. Sounds like these ladies are it.
"Killin' it on the bass!" Misa! Misa! Misa! "Giving more than they have to." Yeah, I've seen Pink Floyd in concert, and in terms of performance, I've seen Band-Maid in concert, and yeah, the energy level for a Band-Maid concert is off the charts. A must-see when they come back to the US. Be there, or miss out!
Band-Maid has three straight-up virtuosos - MISA on the bass, Kanami on lead guitar, and Akane on the drums! They are some of the best in the business. Japanese musicians in general are some of the best in the world, generally outshining their Western counterparts! Sadly, most Americans never look outside that American/European box and are blissfully unaware of the amazing stuff coming out of Japan!
And you talked about bands needing to put on a show. Ha! This is your band! They pull the crowd all the way in, with sing-along parts and chanting and the crowd is on fire
Welcome to the Maidiacs! I will have you know, good sir, that Roger is 2nd only to Santa Claus when it comes to spreading joy around the world. Hope you're ready, there's plenty more where that came from. Thanks so much for the GREAT reaction! Just remember: Life is better with BAND-MAID! 🤘🤩🤘
Thanks to you and everyone else for rolling out the red carpet. You guys are awesome, and again, big shoutout to @RogerChance5309 for the recommendation. Killed it!
I was trying not to. I promise, but I had to talk about that bass playing. I didn't know how long that solo was going for. Please forgive me. I beg for mercy. LOL
Welcome to the fandom! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live) I'd also suggest The Warning. They're another all female rock band from Mexico I suggest these TW songs: Money, Sick, Automatic Sun, Enter Sandman (official video with Alessia Cara), Evolve (live VMAs) & Dust To Dust (live Teatro) Was lucky enough to see both live in Tokyo recently. Both bands played my fave song & they closed the nite with the live debut of their collab. Best concert ever! BTW - there's another Korean *rock* band called Rolling Quartz. I suggest this song of theirs: Fearless
MISA!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!!! 🥃🥃🥃Badass Bass Assassin. One of my favorite new "conversations" between Misa and Kanami. I have seen B-M 4 times and you will not be disappointed. Last year for their 10th Anniv tour in Japan, US and Mexico no 2 concerts were alike. Their set list were always different for every show as well as their crowd interaction.
Hi 👋 from the UK 🇬🇧 something you might like to check out the band is called Nightwish it's a symphonic metal band from Finland 🇫🇮 with a Dutch singer floor jansen ( the vakyrie) This band has a massive following in Europe and the Internet the go to song to start your Nightwish journey is Nightwish ghost love score wacken open air concert 2013 official music video And prepare for the Nightwish army arriving at the door 🚪 lol 😊
this song maid a believer out of me in Misa and I'm more or a Lovebites fan so that's saying alot. I don't see myself as a Madiac but their ability to always put on a show is number 1 I give them that,
Roger !!!!!!!! He strikes again! You have just witnessed the best band ever. I am 55 and I was able to catch Pink Floyd live in the 80's but this band is the best.Kanami, the lead guitarist and main composer, is a genius songwriter. You can pick any song from their catalog, every one is impressive. This is the top, but there are other great Japanese bands out there. About 90% of my current playlist is Japanese bands. They are that good.
Roger strikes again! Thank you for checking out Band-Maid! This is a pigeon hole you don't want to get out of! And we are all here for it! FYI They usually have captions for their songs. There are some pretty funny lyrics in this one ;-)
I loved your analysis about why this performance affected you as it did. Personally, I love this band. There is nothing they can't play and unlike so many bands they have a deep love for their fans as well. I have subscribed to your channel and I look forward to a great musical journey with you, I hope there is some more Band Maid in that future too. I would suggest "Manners" and "Black Hole," that was a dual performance they put out forfans during covid. Also, "Dice," and "Shambles" are amazing, but just about any of their music is worth a listen! Glad to be aboard!
I've gotta write all these down. You all have thrown so much at me, but I love it. Yes, I am super excited to hear more from them, and thanks for the sub!

@@mymorningmayhem Here you go. Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead. Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition. Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition. Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music. Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well) So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance. And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD! ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!! Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan. Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning" On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"... The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited) This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their RU-vid channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill. Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Also Lovebites sings in English they have a new bassist Fami and Midori and Miyako (M&M) on lead guitars yes 2 lead guitars inspired by bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden
Welcome to the best hard rock band on earth. And the most fun. The more you check them out the more you will see that they can melt your face or your heart. They get to choose though.😁🤘
Just watch it again, but dont forget to put on the closed captions to get the meaning of the lyrics. And then just pick any song to listen to more of them. You can't go wrong.
David Gilmour is in a league of his own, in my opinion. I heard he's kind of a jerk, but I guess when you're that far out of everyone else's league, you kind of get to be. I'm super jealous, but hope you have a blast!
