I love this song it has an eighties hard rock feel even more so live because the bass and drums are so punchy. I think every Bandmaid song is a drum solo from start to end. If you are looking for an Akane fix there's a video of her doing a Maximum the Hormone cover, check it out if you haven't already.
Miku does such an amazing job augmenting Saiki's voice that it's not always clear where one stops and the other starts. It's nice to have a song with more harmonizing and trading off of lines so you can hear her better. She doesn't have Saiki's power, but boy does she have a sweet voice. Someone suggested 'Rock In Me' live. That's a good one to see her really engage an audience.
Hey John! Miku and Saiki sing together more than not. Their voices meld together so well that they sound as one much of the time, kind of like how Alice In Chains used to combine their 2 voices so seamlessly.💪🏻🤘🏻

Misa and Akane are the heart of Band Maid's sound. Akane is an amazing drummer. Since you have reviewed many of the great live version performances, I suggest that you review some of the early Band Maid songs. I would recommend "Thrill" and "Shake that", as those were the songs that first drew attention to Band Maid. Good review.
Great reaction !! If you want to deeply enjoy AKANE's performance more, I recommend "Band-Maid / Alone (live @ Comiccon London 2016)" video to you. Probably this video is taken by a fan camera. So the sound quality and the movie fineness are a bit lower. But ! you will understand her high performance technique from this video, and why she is called a "beast". Please enjoy !!

Miku does have a sweet voice but she is nowhere as strong and natural a singer as Saiki. I know how you were feeling when you were smiling at her vocal parts. She can really melt your heart with that head tilt and finger wag in this song. You will get a chance to see more of her considerable moe powers if you can find a way to do "Thrill".
Miku has a more melodic voice than Saiki, definitely better for ballads, and in a duet with her, she sings not only in harmony, but contrasting delicacy of her singing with the sharp, almost Saiki scream. This appeared only after some time, because in the acoustic session of 2014, or even in "Thrill" their voices sound quite similar.

I really like Saiki's voice, and this song shows it off, I like her shouts. Miku is the heart and soul of this group, but you don't often get to see it. Even if Saiki and Kanami are my favorite parts. Look up the live version of Rock In Me, she's on stage for a while before and you see her personality. And good luck with the Akane solo, she doesn't like to do them very often AFAIK.
i dismissed this first listen but its growing on me , a lot of good parts well played, and yes Miku vocals so cute too , and Misa...a wow start to song.
The problem with Japanese girl bands is once you like one o more, you just simply can't stay away. It begins with Babymetal, next Scandal, and now Band-Maid. And you know it when you know the names of all the members.
I think I've checked them all out, But Band Maid is the only one I like. There is just something special about them...every member...every instrument...the song styling...the harmonies....everything just clicks like no other.

@@DavidMISAMISAMISACook A deal breaker for me with any band is the screaming/yelling/growling style. Some of them are great until I hear that...then I'm out. Many of the vocalists that don't growl seem to have a similar style...singing from their head...Saiki really projects power from her diaphragm... setting her apart from the rest. The other bands have singers...Saiki is a legit Rockstar. Just my opinion :-)
I don't think that her surgery has much to do with the changes in her voice. It's a matter of vocal technique. She said in an interview that she learned from her vocal coach how to use her full body to sing better and to make her voice last for more than half hour of show. In the early days she used mostly her head voice and she could barely speak at the end of the gigs, but she learned how to save strenght for a two-hour show. And she is still learning.
I know scandal long time ago far before bm, but never learn their name, i only impresed that there is exist all girl band, stereopony too .but when i found bm, i just know that this is music iv been searching for
All three can play piano since young age. That's why their music is so interesting. Their long time training have conditioned their brains to be so comfortable with music. It's like eating for them. Their minds can weave in and out of music scores like walking in the park.

Oh my dog!! I have just noticed Akane's bare shoulders, oh no, pure filth!!...LOL!! her backing is just phenominal, she never misses a beat. Another great song from these beautiful superb ladies. ps. I am now going to cut away the shoulders of all my T shirts. And I wood really love a maids outfit, and my girlfriend says she is ok with that.
I saw a bunch of that particular video. Look carefully and you'll see what MISA was drinking that night: Jim Beam! Just sayin' she might be...challenged by a "Jack Daniels" shirt...at least it would be a conversation starter.
She actually likes both whiskeys. Jim Beam and JD. Misa is an acutely shy person. She tosses back a few to stay loose. Miku says Misa plays better when drunk and Misa says a couple of shots is far better than taking tranquilizers. Best damn hard rock band anywhere today. I love this incredible band. Sacramento does, too.
Basically Kanami writes the basic music for the songs and Miku writes most of the lyrics. Have you noticed yet that you haven't heard a bad song from Band Maid?
