"Matchless GUM" live. My all time number one bar none! Nothing comes close to this. The way Saiki oozes passion in the beginning, Miku's low voice harmonies and the weird rhythmic distortion she throws in, Kanami's crazy guitar solo's and one handed playing. Misa's thick heavy bass. And then to top it all off, Saiki's distorted fermata at 2:32😵

I get psychogenic shivers with nearly every Band-Maid song. It’s like a music-drug they fiendishly inject into their music to keep you addicted… in a good way, of course. The first couple that come to mind at this moment are: Matchless Gum - the classical-like passage with that hunting chorus pedal and low bass effect just after the solo - especially the last two chords with the counter bass notes. It’s chilling; and second, the way Saiki soulfully attacks the first word “ I “ in the last lines of the official Choose Me MV, “I cannot wait forever…” combined with the raw, tribal drum and funky bass pulls. Pure rock phrasing. She only does it in the official MV. Thx, Rick!

Matchless Gum is a top 10 Band-Maid song for me, unfortunately many reactors never look into it. I was very excited to see your reaction once I saw your thumbnail. Watching you get down to this and picking on Kanami's Wah Work underneath, brought a deep smile to my soul. Most of the community will disagree but, for me, this is Prime Band-Maid. The one thing you cannot do to Band-Maid is say they are always the same, except for it being excellent! It's why we Maidiac's say Band-Maid is a genre of their own!
Cool reaction to another great BAND-MAID song!!!!!They use the same vocal effect on "H-G-K" a slow ballad from UNSEEN WORLD...definitely worth checking out....🕊🍌🍻☕⚾
BAND-MAID will do their best to recreate the studio version when possible, even the vocal stutter. Pretty cool, eh? Most all the backing tracks are played by Kanami. She just can't play all those synths and handle Lead Guitar too.
