Kanami's years at the piano have obviously given her extreme finger strength and flexibility. Misa is also a pianist and I think Akane started piano before trombone before guitar before drums. Strangely each member is not playing their first instrument. Says so much for awesome musical talent.

Clang is my favourite song off of WD but have never warmed up to the live version (EXCEPT LA Sep 30th 2019 and Oct 1st 2019) the drums don't push thru as much as on the studio version (in my opinion)

I will never get tired of that transition into the solo, that riff is sooooooooo fuckin nasty god damn boi. thicc, nasty, meaty, juicy riff boi. It is pretty hard to pick just one favorite solo, but this is definitely up there as one of the best and the tone is just completely different than other Kanami solos.

I love every parts of the song, band-maid songs all have hooks, but with this song, it's hooks overload. I've tried to convince my partner how brilliant the band is, and now he gets it. Their music has colours, and how many hooks can a song have? are Gold comments from him.

Kanami did a similar intro during the now somewhat legendary gig in Hamburg 2019. She even quoted a few bars of Santana's Europe before Moratorium kicked in. Needless to say the small crowd (maybe 250 people) in the tiny club went nuts. If you want to check it out, there is a very good fan-cam capture courtesy of my friend Vladimir Chupin. Four of the nine songs from Summer Sonic 2019 were broadcast live on RU-vid, so you are right that there was no post-processing done. This was not something done or released by the band, but by the festival itself. Sometime later (during the pandemic), they released the full 9-song set for free (during a limited time period), but the sound mix was the same as what was broadcast IIRC.

Actually, it's easy to get confused about these types of things. You actually have a great memory about music in that, you can recall how a certain riff from some random song you listened to 12 years ago sounds like a very small bit of the current song you are listening to. And remember it in such detail that you can find it right away, and play it back. I am always amazed by that! So you only have VERY BRIEF idiotic moments. LOL

It's okay buddy. The live performance from STUDIO COAST is definitely the definitive version of this song. Such a heavy song that is somehow broken up by the lightest, sing-a-long parts. Just incredible. Could listen to this song 1000x just for Miku whispering to me alone.

I like the goofy real quality of your vids. Refreshingly unpolished! Love the deep dives, especially Band-Maid, and enjoyed you delving into Tricot. The backup vocals on here are I think all backing tracks. And it always seems Kanamis microphone is always off. And she pretends to do backing vocals on a lot of full band performance songs. I've seen it in more then a few songs with them. And no I'm not talking about her incredible backing vocals when performing acousticly with Saiki

Moratorium live used to be my fave B-M recording. There are 2 excellent versions. One is at Band=Maid Prime, and the other is at bili bili. Both absolutely rock. The 6th member of the band is that song's MVP. I'm referring to the audience, of course. When Akane goes wild at the end with those double kick rolls, MISA pounding her bass in tune and time with them, and crowd chanting, it's just next level.
