Play is still one of my favorites. Who doesn't like to play? That intro guitar very much reminds me of Dave Navarro in early Jane's Addiction but with Kanami's signature twist. Thanks for sharing the fun!

Thank you for reacting to BAND-MAID's song, I enjoy watching your program every time after reacting to them. “Onset” (live) is a wonderful instrumental song. Also, the music videos for songs like "Sense," "Blooming," and "Choose Me" are wonderful works.

The only time that they did a "live" performance outside of the maid costumes, was a Christmas Livestream where they dressed up as Santa and the reindeer 🦌. Other than that, it's pretty much right there in the name... Band-MAID. 👈 Miku worked for a maid cafe, and thought it would be funny to dress like maids and play hard rock music.

In answer to "Do you ever sit down at a Band-Maid concert?" No is the only response! I've seen them four times and sitting is not an option, but jumping and chanting is!

At the end of this video their positions and sound shows they are about to start Domination (LIVE) which you have seen from the same show.

Another new band alert. BAND MAID has been the best find for me in years and I haven't listened to much more since discovering them. But on the weekend I found a band called "The Sixsters". No comparison to BAND MAID as they are in a league of their own. However, The Sixsters are a band everyone needs to hear (in my opinion). A five piece all female group from Ukraine - I read they were in Germany now because of the war in Ukraine Try "Feels" - "Hold" - "Fever" - "City" ... and there's more. WELL worth a listen. Love that you’re doing live Band Maid!, they are phenomenal live - answer question, yes they wear the maid outfits - they call it “their armor” also Jimmy Page saw Band Maid in Tokyo, went backstage to get picture with Akane and said she was the reincarnation of Jon Bonham(sp)

A good idea for people new to BAND-MAID is to watch one of the interviews or documentaries which are all on RU-vid and easy to find.

The outfits started out with the traditional "French Maid" style. Their first video, "Thrill," shows all of them wearing that style. In the years since Thrill, their outfits have gradually changed, with bassist MISA's being the least maid-like. They update every year or two, all at the same time. Their current outfits can be seen in their most recent live videos (Endless Story, Hate?, Don't You Tell Me, and Unleash!!!!!).

The vibe at their concerts is like no other. It’s uplifting and fun for both the band and fans. No crazy mosh pit. Fans are having a blast but not violently.

With this one it’s all about the name. Four plus minutes of pure call and response exuberance. When Saiki says “sing”, you SING!

They have 6 concerts out on DVD. But majority of the live videos on their RU-vid page is from just 2 of them. They used to have more from a 3rd concert, but deleted them to make room for newer stuff.

During their breaks Miku red rose leads the crowd and band members in comedy sketches that are hilarious

The two times I saw them , the first show 2022 they opened with the song , Sense with its orchestrial opening , the 2nd show 2023 the opened with the song From now on , the instrumental , when the Small Pigeon says sing you sing .

The very last, ringing, note from Kanami's guitar at the end of this is also the first note on the song Domination, from this same gig, which you watched a few days ago. They segued from PLAY, their 21st song of this 2020 Shibuya concert, into the 22nd, DOMINATION, and finished the 23 song gig with GLORY. It is one of my favourite Band-Maid concert DVD's....along with the other 5 concerts on DVD I have which are also all favourites!

Play live and Choose Me live were the first two songs I heard by them. Hooked right then.

They change costumes about once every year, but Saiki and Misa have their own take on costumes, being mostly black and not typical maid style. This has changed- once for the full acoustic concert in 2021- beige and red, and more recently for the Bestie video this year, where they were all in white/ivory. Which a lot of fans quite liked.

Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are rock goddesses. Their stage presence and ability to control the crowd are simply unrivaled. Play! will forever be in my top 5 B-M songs of all time. As @Jonas_S has stated, Saiki really liked this song and wanted in on the fun of performing it with the rest of the ladies. I watched part of a Motley Crue concert last night, now there's a half hour of my life I'll never get back, a couple of great rock songs delivered with all the dynamics of a four day old custard, thank fck for BAND-MAID, these Rock Goddesses show how it should be done, what a fcken band Po, cheers 👍🍻

I was fortunate to see *BAND-MAID* live in 2022 in (Sacramento, San Francisco, Phoenix and Silver Spring) and in 2023 in (Houston, Atlanta, Nashville and Denver) 😁

It sounds like you're from the Boston area. You missed them when they were here last year at The Paradise. Yes these are their concert outfits although if you see anything from their latest in Japan (Hate or Don't You Tell Me) they got new outfits with some changes

They’ve changed their outfits a half dozen times or so over the years. This is from the same show as Domination. Actually this was the song right before Domination.

'Play' started out as an instrumental, but Saiki liked it so much that she asked Miku to write lyrics for it. The result is this banging tune! 😎🤘

The best, most impactful official music video in my opinion is “From Now On.” All I will say is please have good headphones 🎧 and be prepared for their instrumental prowess. There are several songs actually best served by the music video, so far. “Blooming,” “Thrill,” and “Daydreaming” being the most prominent. Yeah, being a Maidiac at a Band Maid okiyuji is a workout! Jumping, fist pumping, and shouting all the audience parts. The Maids’ energy and happiness are contagious. Saiki makes a little wave of a hand and the crowd responds. At one show she was flicking sweat at the front row and people were trying to catch it. (Kanami became a bit jealous 😂) The Maid uniforms/battle gear/outfits change after each tour, with the most recent iteration being debuted at the Yokohama Arena. The changes help know which era a video is from. The years 2015-2018 are affectionately known as the “Tiny Hat Era,” named for the little top hat worn askew on Akane’s head. They retired it for the “World Domination” outfits you see in today’s video. All these trivial details make being a fan of Band Maid kinda like a treasure hunter or a collector of quirks. Extra layer of fun.

This isn't even the best LIVE version of this song. That would be Zepp Tokyo LIVE, but all that Classic BAND-MAID from it and Studio Coast was taken off RU-vid ahead of a DVD release and can only be found on RU-vid, being a Chinese site they don't care about copyrights. This one has a good intro though.
