Finally my wish came true! I've been waiting for a reaction to this song ever since the reaction to "Onset." Thanks so much. Everyone at Maidiacs knows about Kanami's genius. Now we leave the bass and drums to them, but originally Kanami made the basic score. So Kanami is not only a composer but also an arranger and producer. I'm so happy that you have come to a better understanding of Kanami.
BM instrumentals are always a sonic treat to the spirit.....and by the way, nobody's booing you David, we always want Kanami to be more centre stage and louder. But it's her unique personality of sincere humbleness and her aim to always serve the song and not showcase egotism that keeps her ticking away. Still, each and every one of them are an essential driving force of course. 🤘
Hold on to that program. There are a few good Band Maid live songs on Bilibili that isn't on RU-vid anymore. You could see a face off Kanami and Misa with Akane backing them.
Finally got to their banger of an instrumental that is criminally underrated. Edit: and who cares about the video, man? We're here for the music brother.
Totally true. Steve when i first read your comment i thought you'd said "Imagine being a sniper". I was about to reply with something not so nice.😂🤦♂️
There were a number of these instrumental videos that came as a bonus with a DVD of theirs. Most of them were instrumental versions of songs with lyrics but this was an actual instrumental to start with. All the videos were done in this visual format, with the white background, shots of the whole band and close-ups of each member playing. Better a 480 resolution Band-Maid video than many 5k videos of some 'stars' I see (briefly, before turning them off).
I have heard Kanami say in an interview that when she writes instrumentals, she changes her guitar part to fill the tonal space that the vocals would normally occupy.
And I hope he actually goes to a live concert. That way, he will appreciate more the video and "Omajinai time" that have been underappreciated so far!😏
I haven't read through all the comments and I know this isn't a unique opinion, but Kanami Tōno seems like a composer who plays guitar, rather than a guitarist who writes music. She's a very good guitarist - but there are a _lot_ of really good guitarists in the world. Not many of them play as musically as she does; her phrasing and dynamic expression give her playing a vocal aspect. She doesn't seem as interested in playing a page of notes so much as making a musical statement. So, yeah, sometimes she is underrated as a guitarist, and sometimes Akane and MISA take the attention away from her, but as a composer she knows it is necessary and desirable. Saiki has a role. No one in the band is going to be jealous of her because they _want_ her to take the spotlight. She breathes life into their songs. She doesn't begrudge them playing instrumentals because she _needs_ the mid-set break for her vocal health. She's already had surgery for nodules and she ain't interested in going through _that_ again. It's that the one-for-all and all-for-one aspect to this band that's so appealing. As good as Akane and MISA are, their band, as a whole, is greater. Same for Saiki. Same for Miku - Miku isn't a blazing guitarist but she doesn't need to be. She provides freedom to MISA and Kanami and her band is greater for it. It is especially true for Kanami; she gives her band a cohesiveness by her compositions, and they make her compositions greater then if they would otherwise be.
Exactly my thought. Kanami is not a guitarist, she's a composer who happens to play guitar at a very high level. BAND-MAID is her instrument, not her guitar only.
@@VladimirChupin I don't think it was uncommon in the past. W.A. Mozart was a very good pianist and violinist, he toured Europe, but he's known for 41 symphonies, 27 piano concertos, operas like Le nozzi di Figaro, Cosi fan tutti, and Don Giovanni, and many many more.
The quality of the vid was no big deal. We could see and hear what was going on. The white room instrumentals are always part of a bonus DVD that comes with their albums, so the videos aren't always easy to find because the band never officially releases them on their RU-vid channel. Kanami tends to hold herself back a bit so everyone can be featured equally. It's just the way she is. From Now On was her biggest leap as far as her showing off. There have been a few reactions recently to a live version from one of their online concerts over the past few months. Another difficult video to find I'm sure. They killed it as always.
Kanami is the composer who brings up the song. She allows Akane and Misa to compose their parts these days. When Saiki sings, she always holds back because she wants Saiki to shine. She is also a teacher to Miku to play her part and to send online to Miku so that she can practice how to play a certain song. But it is Saiki , also in this issue, who gives the final decision.
Kanami is the composer in this band. Whether you like it or not, playing guitar is simply her role in the band and obviously she has no intention of being a guitar giant. I think she would see herself as a composer.
Wow!! I thought Akane was more noticeable then usual. Misa. That's just Misa. Konami is a brilliant arranger who lets everybody shine. And Miku was a great contributor. They all have such knowledge of music that they don't step on each other.
I watched this reaction on a 55inch tv and the video quality was fine David. Out of the three instrumentals from Band-Maid(that I'm aware of), this one is my least favorite(it's still great though!). Onset is my favorite, and if I can ever find a way to purchase it as an mp3, it will be on my playlist. Great honest review as always 🤘🤘😁👍......and I waited until the end to do all the clickies and emojis! ROFL
You are missing one. Their instrumentals (not counting stuff they have instrumental versions of) are: - Onset (originally live only, later released on a super limited pre-order bonus for the Glory / Bubble singles if you bought them together. It also included puzzle acoustic and anemone acoustic) - Don't Be Long (one of the B-sides to their Different single) - Without Holding Back (on the Unseen World normal edition, the special edition got this video but not the audio track) - From Now On (on the Unleash EP) Not sure which one you haven't heard yet, but I recommend trying to listen to it. All of them are realy good. My personal ranking is probably: Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, Don't Be Long But it's very difficult to rank them, they are all pretty close in my mind.
I'm actually surprised that this seems to be your first band Maid instrumental. Many rate this as their best instrumental but From Now On and Onset still get the edge for me and then there is the brilliant instrumental version of Giovanni that translates so well into an instrumental.
I'm more interested in the music and your opinion of it than I am the actual video. The video is a bonus, but it's not the song and your opinion of same. And Kanami in most of their songs always tries to let everyone else shine. As the main composer and arranger of the Ladies songs, Kanami decides where she wants her guitar to be in the mix. And as many of us complain, in live performances, she normally keeps her guitar lower in the mix as well, except during her solos. But even then, her guitar is lower in the mix.
From Now On--ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a6ZSvmnkS00-.html-is a recent instrumental of theirs that I'm familiar with--great production values--but this one is new to me. It's a good song...From Now On is better, though, especially from the point of view of "showcasing" Kanami.
This is the great thing with japan. Lots of instrumental! When I did my last radioshow before summer break I challenge my self with 1 hour of only instrumental Japanese hardrock /metal instrumentals. I could going for 2 hours but I dedicated the first hour of Japanese punk! :-) I let Shonen Knife shine on that first hour!
One thing about Band-Maid is that they very rarely give you everything they've got all at once. You get tasty licks and great bits of composition, but they always leave you wanting just a bit more.
When Herman Li of DragonForce 'auditioned' for BAND-MAID, Miku and Kanami played "Without Holding Back" while Herman improved over it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sEgKgorAmaE.html
I've said for a long time, that the label & publishing company are screwing the Maids over big time. They pull so many great videos off line. And don't release so many great videos for them. The thing is, Band-maid love watching reactors of their videos. Also. these 'White Room' videos were released along with the full music score for the 'Whole' album, so people could learn their songs. Each white room recording, also has an individual video of each member for the whole song, to that end.
This has never been on their channel, all these white background videos videos were rips of the DVD/Blu-ray special editions of the albums by fans, so it makes sense for them to remove them. But I agree that removing things like Moratorium/Puzzle live that apparently used to be on their channel is probably not the best move.
Video quality is fine if you have a bad phone. Band Maid is "cursed" with a over abundance of talent. Any of those ladies would be the lead focus in another group.
Another time remember screen capture to a file from OBS is always an option for awkward sites like that. Or just ask us.. one of us probably has an HQ file laying about. Never heard of "BillyBilly" before 😂
Been looking forward to your reaction to this one, one of my favourites by them. There is no official MV of this, other than the one that comes on the DVD or BluRay special edition of the "Unseen World" album. This album comes in three different editions; regular, special edition with DVD or special edition with BluRay. Each of these has a different selection and order of songs on the actual CD, so worth paying attention to for anyone wanting to buy the album primarily for the CD. Kanami is modest and usually doesn't try and steal the show when it comes to the performance, that is why it may _feel_ like often she doesn't get the recognition she deserves. However, all Maidiacs know that Kanami is the primary genius behind the songs from their fourth album ("Just Bring It") onwards (give or take a few songs.) She is not only a great guitarist, but also a phenomenal composer/arranger.
Two bands that are so extreamly easy to fall in love with... Bandmaid and Lovebites... Talent are beyond... And its talent WITH musicality and feeling. Not talent only with technality... Thankyou for your effort in getting hold of this video. It was sound and your reaction that was the inportant thing. So video quality was not so inportant in this case. Thankyou for as usual a honest and deep analysis. Much love from Stockholm Sweden/ J
No idea why this song was removed. There is a version on Dragonforce's channel (yeah dragonforce) with Herman Li dressed as a maid auditioning to join band maid, he is streaming with Miku and Kanami, so the 3 of them are playing to this song. Unfortunately they are playing to a track which has Misa and Akane recorded. It is a great video, Herman is hilarious, Miku and Kanamu are super cute and we get this song with a bit of dragonforce added in. I guess Kanami isnt always front and center but she is writes the music for these songs, so I guess she holds back normally, but not this song. Band maid has a number of instrumentals used with the miku magic time for a mid concert break mainly for saiki to get a break.
Some might say it's a crime the other way round. These White room instrumentals are only a part of the special editions of their albums, which means, people are paying a lot more money to get them. They were never meant to be free for all and never actually officially on YT. Other than David said.
@@UltraHD.7 step number is to increase the popularity of the group. Step number two make money, not other way around, for zero multiply even by one million dollars is always zero. I live in ottawa, and nobody who I know or see knows BM. Sad…
Yes, we need more Kanami in the spotlight. 😀 The video is fine. As long as we can hear it and maybe sorta kinda see what's going on it's all good. And if you're having problems finding a particular video, you can always ask the patreons. I'm sure we can help you out.
You used to be able to watch/rip 720p from bilibili and only 1080p was behind an account (possibly paywall), but they changed it some time ago so 720p is now behind that account as well. And I believe you can't create an account on the official billibilli website (so not the Western one) without living in China (possibly with a VPN if you know Chinese I guess). It's a shame, but it's understandable, most (if not all) videostreaming platforms bleed money because of how expensive bandwidth is, it's a shame though. There is a lot of stuff on there that is removed from other sites, some of it understandably so (like this limited edition exclusive video that was never meant to be free), but for others like full concerts that were aired on TV, not so much.
This was on RU-vid for only a very short time some years ago. All the reactions have been bootlegged versions. Originally from a DVD that came with deluxe versions of their albums and generally not available commercially for the most part.
Maybe the reason the video is so hard to find is because it's not been released officially online. It was part of the special edition of their Unseen World album.
In the past when Saiki's vocal wasn't as powerful as now, her voice tended to get buried in the mix because bass and drum were almost overpowering guitar/vocal especially in live version. Saiki has powerful voice now (you can disagree of course) and won't get washed over by instruments, which is a good thing for the band. If you want to hear each instrument clearly, you may be able to find some isolation videos somewhere...I'm a bandmaid prime subscriber so I can always enjoy bass/drum/guitar self-cover version of many of their songs. But don't you worry. Band-Maid does have more instrumentals and there will be more in the future.
This is/was inserted so saiki could have a pee break. Hence the title. There are several tracks with the same purpose with the same cheeky type of name.
"From now on " which is the latest instrumental, has an official MV on the site and is basically a kanami - fest. Saiki told her to do it. Was featured in guitar world magazine, even made the snobs happy. Shoo in 10
Here you go, DH ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eEiE3ND7JEc.html It's from two weeks ago, tho, so you may have recorded this video before. By the way, Band Maid have, asfaik, 3 instrumentals. Meaning you may get surprised yet one more time... 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Not sure if this was mentioned but in an interview Kanami said she wrote this song as a practice for Miku for a certain a type of difficult guitar phrase (which I can't remember).
I believe that was Don't Be Long (which was on the Different single), but I can't say I am 100% sure that it was (it was one of these 2 instrumentals for sure). I don't remember the song that needed the practice was either, it might have been Different actually.
