This is a gift for their April 1, 2018 April Fool's fans. On that day, their official homepage was replaced by the Band Maiko. At night, they returned to Band-Maid again. This song has Japanese instruments such as shamisen, koto, and wadaiko added, and the lyrics are also in the dialect of Kyoto Clothes. And there is a howl of Misa. Their costumes are those of a young Maiko from Kyoto. In 2019, a mini album of the Band Maiko was released.
Does MISA actually do that howl? I would also like to know who is playing shamisen, koto, and wadaiko on this track. I don't think any of the ladies play traditional instruments.

The noodle scene is funny because it's showing Akane as the only one actually eating. It's an inside joke because Akane ALWAYS eats, sometimes even on stage.

Band Maiko is an April's fool joke they pulled on their fans some years ago on 1 of April. They told them that they would change the name to Band Maiko and start playing more traditional music. To this date, Band Maiko has made two appearances on two separate 1 April. So there is another song with them.
There are two music videos, as well as a seven song BAND-MAIKO EP. Gion-cho is an original song, the other six (including this one) are MAIKO versions of BAND-MAID songs.

As others have mentioned, the lyrics were redone by Miku in the Kansai dialect from Kyoto. A maiko is a geisha in training. They have an entire EP with Secret Maiko Lips, 5 other re-done songs and one original, Gion-cho. Only Gion-cho and Secret Maiko Lips have MVs. Gion-cho is the name of the district in Kyoto where many geishas live. Gion-cho is highly recommended and has subtitles in English and Japanese romaji. They are playing with the "gap" again here, the contrast between their look (and the expected demeanor) and their music. A geisha and a maid-cafe maid are both entertainers and servers.
@[薔薇尻弾]OYS The number of geisha has gone way down, but the ones who work for the established houses are not doing it as a "side job". Also, the word "geisha" is never used in Kyoto - it's invariably "geiko" in Kyoto.
On April 1st, 2018 BAND-MAID announced on their social media that they were changing their focus and would be re-branding as "BAND-MAIKO". Then they released this video. At the end of the day they stated they had changed their minds, and would be reverting back to "BAND-MAID". : ) One cool thing is that they changed the dialect of their singing to "Kansai". Miku (or Hatoko as she's known in this video) rewrote the lyrics accordingly. Kansai is the traditional dialect used in the old Capital of Kyoto that is identified with Geisha culture. You might already know that a maiko is an apprentice geiko (geisha) in Kyoto and Western Japan.
Kyoto can't be "identified with geisha culture" because there aren't any geisha in Kyoto. In Kyoto they're invariably referred to as "geiko". They're "geisha" in Tokyo, and Tokyo's geisha culture and Kyoto's geiko culture are different in various ways, including dialect, terminology, manners, and customs. (Some other cities have similar entertainers and use either "geisha" or "geiko", but Tokyo and Kyoto are the largest centers.) Also, the dialect of Kyoto isn't called "Kansai". "Kansai" is the region of Japan in which the cities of Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe are located; "Kansai-ben" (more properly "Kinki Hogen", though they don't entirely overlap) is the general dialect of the Kansai region, and the Japanese refer to Kyoto speech, which is a sub-dialect of Kansai-ben, as "Kyo-kotoba" or "Kyoto-ben", not as "Kansai". When they talk with their customers, geiko and maiko will use standard modern Kyoto speech, but there are many expressions unique to the geiko/maiko culture, some of which go back 100-200 years.

The only band will rival Bando-Maid, their persona band called Band-Maiko. My favorite from theirs is "Tora and Tora", loved the instrumentals on that song. Next you should check out Wagakkiband and Lovebites, another great bands from the land of the rising sun. Love u Hatoko po! 🎌💗👗🐦🐈🎸
