Looks like there was an unmasked head AND the Rocket pack from Kamino. I really hope Figuarts releases that version of Jango, I love the Rocket pack WAY more than the Arena pack.
There are two types of people in the world kanino jet pack people and arena. There usually isn’t any middle ground haha. You’re one or the other and I’m with you I’m kamino/ boba / z6 mitrinomon all the way
The neck is under the helmet so my guess is they were planning on including an extra unmasked head but didn’t add it. Edit: I just realized robo said that he did originally come with it nvm
Even when they first released the official pics, I had my doubts about this figure. The figure is waaaay too _clean_ to be the best bounty hunter of the galaxy. It needs the weathering effects on the jumpsuit and scratches on armour to make it more authentic. Black Series done a much better job on that department. One thing that COULD have made this figure *shine* would have been to use that Figuarts digital printing magic to create a Temuera Morrison head. That would have been awesome and they missed out on that too.
In another review, I saw that the torso has a joint shift of some sort. It shifts down and limits the movement but it stops the wobble fest. If you try this just be careful you don't break it out of frustration.
I did notice the shift but didn't think it was an actual motion. Unfortunately both up and down the waist is still loosey goosey. And yeah, I tend to get frustrated haha.
Knew Jango looked too good to be true. A crying shame. Thanks for the review! Now I'm certain I won't pick him up. Neat paint job on the Boba Model Kit, btw. Simple but efficient.
Yeah, I haven't gotten around to weathering the jumpsuit on Boba yet, mostly because I got a second one after I learned how to do waterslides. They look so much better so I'll do my second one up all pretty and then turn this one into Jodo Kast or Tobbi Dala or someone else. Big plans, it will probably stay as Boba Fett in a drawer for the next 10 years, haha.
Thank you for reviewing this figure! I purchased it around November and I swore mine was used and damaged but now I see that its just a super loose figure so I feel a little better about this purchase.
Plasti Adicto dude... thank you so much. Are you referring to like the plastic they use in their packaging over the figures and in this figures case inside the armor at the waist?
You're probably my favourite toy reviewer. You are so frank with the toys and really honest. It was you that convinced me to buy the Bandai model kits. Keep up the great work
Oh man, I will preach the goodness of the model kits for as long as they are available, everyone should get them. Thank you very much, I appreciate it!
You've got that right c: I ordered them the day I saw your Threepio review and kept rewatching it until mine came. You're a great advertisement for toys :p
Ben Elgar I should totally get some kickback from Bandai but they won't even answer my phone calls. And here I am, still buying most of their Star Wars figures, haha!
Great review! Just wanted to give you an FYI on the waist joint....after watching your review about the loose joints I was curious to see if others had the same issue. One reviewer commented that the waist joint is extendable so that Jango can do more dynamic ab crunches. Push the torso down and he doesn't become as floppy as you demonstrated. He's still a bit loose but not that loose. However, extend that waist joint, he is floppy. So maybe you might've had him in the extended position. Also it appeared that the swappable parts on the gauntlet were easy to come off as well so I'm starting to believe that the loose parts and joints is shared by everyone. Anyways, I hope that's useful info for you. Keep up the great reviews!
yeah, loose joints in waist and more so in legs are common for the shf line. Quality control issue been a big part with bandai lately since they are expanding their figure line in rapid fashion. shame though silve colour looks so good, what bandai known for.
they could have included alor more accessories with this kit. unmasked head, poncho, rocket launcher jet pack, and maybe even a flamethrower effect part.
Sad to see the joins being so loose on this figure. I've heard a lot of other people say the same thing about this Jango. Probably just going to stick with my Black Series version.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I've been checking a lot of pics on the web and the removable hook from right gauntlet is GREATLY oversized. So not nice :c I'm removing mine for display...
Great review brother!!!! I watched yours first because I know you always bring the honesty!!! I got mine last Saturday and while I'm still gonna give the Figuarts the nod over the black series....I am a little disappointed at some of the same things you are with this figure. For some reason I don't like hoses that aren't fully attached, the waist joint bothers me, but the shoulder joint probably kills it for me the most! Lastly I'm glad you said it because I thought I was going crazy...I knew I saw what looked to be an unmasked head in that sneak pic....would have totally preferred that
the waist on the figure is supposed to extend upwards for extra articulation, sort of like drop down hips. when youre moving it around in the video its extended.. if you push down on it so the black isnt showing it becomes tighter.
Fair enough. Part of what convinces me it's on purpose is every single (Jango) figure has it. I was watching a Japanese reviewer at a touch and try and the first thing he did was pull the waist out.. move it around, and then push it back in, almost like he knew it was there beforehand. also the hoses are a big deal for me. One of the things that bothers me so much about the Black Series is that the hoses block articulation, so the fact that they're not attached at one end and are a little bit longer than they need to be is a huge plus. edit: youre right though it is loose in both positions, just not as much when its pushed down.
Damn I was actually gonna order this one but now I think I'll save myself a few bucks and get the black series one, thanks for the review man! (Maybe the unmasked head will come with a future Boba Fett?)
the loose waist is actually a pull up method to give the figure more ab crunch, if you push the loose waist all the way down it'll tighten up. this method is also applied to the old shf vegetas.
wow sorry to hear that, mine's not like that at all. I push the torso down and it tightens up. The first time I took the figure out of the box I also thought that the waist is too loose, until I watched D Amazing's review. He touches up on the waist issue, that's how I know about the pull up method on jango. Hope you find a way to fix yours.
greg rio It tightened up a bit when I pulled it apart and then reassembled with one of those little plastic tabs that were in the seams to protect the paint into the ball joint. Works pretty good but not perfect.
God I love your videos, I'm coming to Fwoosh from now on. I bought the Boba Figure because of your awesome video. I did buy the Jango figure too, though I'm okay with some minor problems. Thanks again for the awesome videos!
It seems like this figure has some QC issues as you weren't the only reviewer who had these problems. In a few reviews the figure seemed fine though so I'm keeping my fingers crossed as I wait for my own to come in the mail.
A good and even handed review. I do like the Figuarts line but it goes to show that they don't make perfect figures. My reason for passing on Jango was because of the knees. Maybe it's different on the final model, but the promo shots where his knees are bent looked plain weird.
mine just shipped, and apparently i have the same problem with the right hand joint. the torso joint is loose as well, i hate to say this ,but i think the black series nailed it this time, in terms of price and the pose
I have to agree. I was going to say it surprised me but honestly I should have known better. Not with the loose joints but with the size and proportions. Bandai always seems to make the armored characters shorter and slightly stylized while making humans hypre-realistic and able to fit in with other lines. Crazy thinking.
robo, this may be a lot to ask but I have a favor and if you do it you will literally be my hero (even more than you are now) The wrist peg broke on my figuarts ROTJ Luke Skywalker and I've been trying to think of ways to fix it but recently I had the idea that maybe another figure(one that doesn't go for $150) would have the same wrist peg. The cheapest one on amazon right now is jango fett....so what I would ask you to do is try and test lukes hands on jango fett... I would say switch the peg from jango to luke to see if that fits in the first place but I feel like thats asking too much of you. Maybe you could shoot a video on it, it may help other people too. Anyway if you think this is something you could help me out with pleaseee let me know, thanks
Luke's hand doesn't fit on Jango's wrist peg, for some reason it's way bigger. After some trial and error I got Luke's hand to fit on EPII Obi-Wan's wrist. It's a little more expensive though. I wish I had those WWE figures, those look like they would work and they are cheaper. Sorry man.
The Fwoosh thanks so much for trying man. I'll see what I can do. I may order the episode 2 obiwan and if it doesn't work I'll just return him. What sucks is that I kinda wanted that Obi wan for my collection haha I may try a few wwe figures. Thanks again man you saved me a lot of time!
Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......... I just ordered him!! FUDGE!!! I will keep him sealed! Unfortunate! Lets hope this is not a trend with all action figure companies! Nice review, just sad though.
Yeah, it's a bummer. Getting a SHF should be like your 16th birthday, not your 80th. You're still happy but it's mostly because you lived to see another.
I think your negativity is warranted. Figuarts figures are generally a cut above the rest. This one has some significant issues. I do agree that the overall proportions are better on this one than TBS version, but I feel that the visor on TBS Jango looks slightly more film accurate. I think the wear and tear look on TBS one would have been nice on the Figuarts. I guess you win some and you lose some. Solid review as always.
The Fwoosh what did you end up doing? I'm trying to figure out a way to fix it so I can actually pose him. I more than likely won't opt to super glue cuz that's like no turning back committed. Lol
cant believe you actually said this jango is better then the black series version in any way lol this fig is trash, this fig is expensive, has loose joints, no details in the paint app and no face, just the helmet. The black series is WAY more detailed, has tight joints and is actually affordable and it may noy have a ton of accessories but it has just what it needs to look good. Shf really droped the ball here.
This is a sad sight to behold as the Figuarts line is and always will be my go-to import line for figures. In all my years, the only jankiness I've experienced in the line was on the Mega Man Zero style Zero, whoose hair would keep falling off while posing so you had to pose the hair and figure separately before attaching them together. And that was just a slightly annoying extra step that didn't actually hinder the figure in any way when it came to the sculpt or range of poseability.
I think the pouches are way better and even more screen accurate on the TBS Jango. From all I saw I have to say I like the TBS more, even though I usually like Figuarts so much better.
I haven't actually fixed mine since I don't care too much for the figure itself but you can either put some floor wax or nail polish on the ball to thicken it up a bit, make it a little tighter. I've heard of people just sticking a piece of plastic in there too.
Thanks for the review as always. Was on the fence about this one because I'm not a huge fan of the character but thought he'd look great with the Mace Windu Figuarts, guess I'll just give it a miss after all - might pick a black series Jango instead if I can find one..
I'm new to collecting Figuarts and Black Series and I am confused. Is 1/12 scale the same as 6inch. I wan to know if I can get 1/12 scale figures that will be around the same height as black series figures.
The Black Series is excellent and if you see one, grab it. But with the tank driver sharing the same body as the Scarif Shoretrooper I can't see Bandai not releasing a model kit since it would be 90% reuse. Just needs a new helmet mostly.
The Fwoosh Don't get me wrong, I'll happily pay for *quality* figuarts ST figures but this Jango figure ins't one of them. I mean, I've seen three reviews of it already and in all of those reviews there are problems with the torso and shoulder joints.
Thanks for the review. Just a heads up. I think you may have been unlucky with your figure. The ball joint on my mace is like your Jango. So maybe it a production issues. Have fun!
The Fwoosh the belt pops out the joint. it was loose to start with, like jango. the ball joint isn't great on mine. really think it's a factory problem. have fun mate.
I've heard of some that aren't loose but a lot that are. It's just a crapshoot, man. If it is loose I've heard of people taking the protective plastic that comes between some of the joints and just snapping the torso together with it in-between, seems to tighten it up.
Man it left me with mixed feelings, Mine is still yet to come... As someone said it has a shift down in the hip joint and seen other reviewers shift it up and down. Also I had successfully fix loose joints by using floor polish, try it robo!
Yup, I've done the floor polish, it works great. But Jango still ends up small. I don't know if I can overlook that. And the shift doesn't help, it's loose in all positions. Gah, this figure, I swear, haha.
The actor for Jango is 5'8" but Jango in sw is 6' and Samuel L Jackson is 6'2" so the difference between actors is noticeable but in canon is only 2 inches
I can't see the S.H.F Jango being better than the Hasbro. I can get my black series Jango in really awesome poses. Also I don't know why your Black series Jango helmet looks really huge when mine looks the perfect size. Did I get a reissue or something? Idk?
I was kinda upset that the alternate head didn't come with it, that was its chance to completely blow the BS version out the water with its awesome face sculpts/digital paint app. I haven't got mine yet, but does the head pop off nice enough to pose Mace decapitating him?
Oh yeah, the head pops off easily. That's one of the good points here, the parts that need or should pop off do so smoothly but are also secure when they are in place. And yeah, and unmasked Jango head would have upped this release a LOT.
I honestly don't thinks it's worth $100 the box is like 5 inches, it's a crazy amount for a collectable. Your just really paying for plan but good figure!
I've had the BS version sitting in storage for 9 months or more and decided to open it up last night. What a pleasant surprise! Sure the paint on the head is a little off and would look more like a random clone with a whack haircut, but that figure looks so bad ass to me I suddenly want a Jango Fett movie! It is much bulkier and dirtier and way bad ass looking on the shelf. The Boba figure is good, but Jango is upstaging it!
will this look fit in scale with the model kit clonetrooper because i just got it and i am still deciding if i want to get this figure. (I probably won't)
Ill wait for the price to drop. I think its a nice looking figure and I am willing to put work it. But as long as it looks nice and I can leave it on my shelve and once in a while pose it differently I'm good.
Man, I'm sorry this one is so bad. Figuarts always looks so good. Scale is the biggest issue for me. If they could just be as accurate with scale as they are with their sculpts. :\ - that Chewbacca has me worried too......
Chewbacca may end up a little bit small, but the thing there is that most of the classic heroes will be Figuarts on my shelf in the near future so it won't look so bad overall. Hopefully? Wishful thinking?
Crap. I was hoping to get this figure because it looked so good. And I got rid of rid of my BS one for this one ☹️️ if you work on the waist could you do a lil tutorial on what you did? 👍🏾
I watched this other guys review on this figure and he didn't get one with the loose ball joint. The figure I got does and it's really hard to get him to pose in most poses due to the jet pack weighing him down. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as fixing that problem? Robo if you're reading this did you ever figure out a way to fix it?
You can take some of the plastic that comes in between some of the parts and wrap the ball in it, then pop it back together. Trim off the extra that shows and it should be good to go.
Is it just me or do his holsters look... kinda awkward? I don't know how narrow they're supposed to be, but I can't help but feel like they look a bit silly.
The Fwoosh I guess, yeah. Do they stand out? I really want a Jango but my financial situation isnt super great, so Id like it if the figure is worth the higher price. I could go for the Hasbro version but the Figuarts does have multiple sets of hands. Plus, I live in the Netherlands and figures are pretty difficult to get here in general, and I'll likely have to pay €10 more than I should for both versions.
It was a visual thing, I believe. Btw regarding the arms movement, there is a cup inside the "shoulder" that is aiding in preventing the full range of movement. It should be removable and thus more range.
Maybe it didn't come with Temuera's head coz that would make it much more expensive? and maybe they will release 4 Temuera heads with Boba? So we can use on Boba and Jango and troopers... and since we all LOVE boba we can pay anything for those 4 head sculpts?... Help me Obi Wan Kenobi... you're my only hope.
But Captain America and can get two heads, both of which use the printing tech? Luke gets extra faces and hairs. Maul gets two awesome heads, Mace gets two that are barely different, again, both printed. Like I said, do away with some of the useless accessories and throw in an extra head.
Well, well, well. Pretty disappointing. Fortunately I'm really happy with my Black Series Jango Fett, funny eyebrows aside. While I get most of the human unmasked and unarmored characters from SH Figuarts' Star Wars line, I'm definitely skipping the armored ones. Luckily, Hasbro's Black Series armored figures are usually great while the human faces tend to be awfuly painted or terribly ugly... or at least difficult to look at. So you can have an awesome Star Wars figure collection by picking each figure from the right line. I know there can be some minor size differences but it's something I can deal with.
High five, that's exactly what I do. Human characters from Figuarts, armored from the model kits, aliens and background characters from the Black Series. Don't get me wrong, I buy all of the Black Series but if a better option comes along it gets replaced. Is it sad that I'm so used to paying import prices now that I think of the $20 for a BS figure cheap and disposable? So different from the mid-2000s when I had a $10 cap for action figure purchases...
ehh, figuarts. Sometimes they release an absolutely amazing figure, just to disappoint with their next reease. I feel this figure is somewhat of a wasted potential. IT could have been so much better. It just doesnt look as good as some of their other figures. I wish they went with a slightly different "skeleton", because this one just doesnt seem to work well, aesthetically-wise. Plus the arms ar too short. And the horizontal part of the visor is too wide. It was much narrower in the movie.
If you pull the joint apart and then put it back together with a piece of the plastic that protected the joints in the package pinched in-between it seems to tighten it up.
Well, well, well: Hasbro is taking their game up a notch and Figuarts is having QC issues... It's a topsy-turvy world and I don't like it '😔. My Jango is still in the post so I can't comment on in hand issues but I do think he looks the part. My only reason to get him was because I wanted a nice adversary for my Mace Windu and I think that he will at least fit that bill. I sure hope that the sudden surge of all these new SHF's doesn't signal in a decline in their quality.
They can't mess up Han, can they? It's a key release for them, surely. Although, have you seen the Obi-Wan ANH prototypes? I'm not really excited about that one, the face sculpt is nowhere near the usual quality. Then again, it's a prototype so there's plenty of time to get it right.
The GeekSpotlight Yeah, I'm not going to make any decisions about Obi-Wan until they officially solicit him. The only way I can see Han being screwy is height but with him being a non-armored character I have faith. Lots of faith.
I've heard of a couple of bootlegs, but never as the actual product came out. Always way after. But I've heard these problems from a lot of people. Blows my mind after all the other awesome figures I've gotten.
no kidding, mine is on the way, plus I ordered the red battle droid, but I wonder if it comes with the 3PO head packaged with it. only figure I am missing is the scout and bike combo, that price a little too steep, gotta save money for Star Wars Launch Bay at WDW. They have figures and statues that are exclusive to there only.
Heath Hinton I'm pretty sure the red Battle Droid comes with the C-3PO head. That's the only other SHF I have pre-ordered besides Han, I just don't need any of their trooper figures if they are going to be small. Oh wait, gotta grab EPII Obi-Wan...
This is first Figuarts where I actively hate myself for buying it. Such a waste of $$$. Usually Bandai crushes it, and it's always superior to the black series equivalent. I don't know what happened here.
I'm right there with you at this point. I really think it's something with Bandai and the armored characters. Troopers, Vader, now Jango, all underscaled for some reason. The QC issues and dumb accessories here, which are the real surprise, just push it further into bottom of the tub in the closet territory. It's not enough to put me off Figuarts like with MAFEX, but man, it sucks.
man amazon.ca had mace for $30 one day out of nowhere and I had already spent my money on a wwe figure that shipped like right before I saw that mace was on sale T-T
Think you may of just gotten a defective figure. Most other reviews of Jengo don't seem to have the wobbly issue yours dies. i would be really pissed off though and try to get another.
I have the same issue with mine being loose in the waist ball. I was wondering if I was the only one as some of the reviews I saw didnt mention it. The shoulder pad is a pain, it can easily pop out when trying to extend the armor out. There are some good things with the figure but it is a bit of a pain to pose, once you get it into position it is like leave it be forever...
I hits QC issues 😠 especially if you've ordered from ami ami (which I usually do) because then it's too much of a hassle to send it back. Those gun holding hands really piss me off....a gun toting character needs good gun slingin hands!! Entertaining review but sucks you got a dud
@ David Dávila Not a bootleg dude. The figure is just absolute shit across the board. The BS Jango ain't perfect either but it beats the hell out of this offering.
I guess they were do to release a turd. Other than the crappy build quality and sub par paint apps, he comes off a little barrel chested and he doesn't have a neck. His bucket isn't very good either. Oh well
