I couldn't find a good copy of this fight anywhere on RU-vid, so I decided to upload the whole fight. This is only the 720p version; let me know if you would like me to upload the 1080p version. Bounty Hunter vs. Jedi Knight
This fight is criminally underrated. It has so many elements and really shows just how many tricks and firepower a skilled Bounty Hunter has to use against a Jedi. Just an awesome battle!
@@cykeok3525I was just thinking that as I watched. Mandalorian using every trick and bringing a Jedi Knight down capably. Jedi Knight not necessarily relying only on a lightsaber to fight and subdue his enemy.
Obi Immortal Jesus Christ Wan Kenobi survives against rockets, blaster of a ship and blaster of a handgun that disappear...Wow!Can he turns water into wine???
It would shred his hands and at least dislocate his shoulders because falling from such a height and then all of a sudden coming to a stop when the wire reached its full length isn't just something a human body can tolerate effortlessly.
@@FallenxMalo it would straight amputate both of his hands it's a steel wire couple that with falling at that speed it probably would've amputated his hands and if not then atleast what you said, shredded hands and broken and dislocated bones
Kreanon The door did hit his head as if you listened closely you can hear the thumping noise. Besides it was already stated that the scene was meant to pay homage to the original trilogy
for me it just sounds like a "normal door closing sound" from Star Wars, and yes i have heard that people say it was to pay homage to the original trilogy, but i havnt found any offical writing or video of that being confirmed.
hah, okey :P in my eyes then, poorly executed xD because even tho i liked the idea of it being him bumping hes head, it honestly dosnt look like that in my eyes :P
I also noticed that Boba has a seat belt on, and there aren't much seat belts at least that I've seen so Jango must have had some more concern if he had Boba with a seat belt
***** well some are, the 501st Legion, aka Vader's Fist are the only pure clone Legion left in the Empire, and they just so happen to be the very best, every time you see Stormtroopers kicking ass, it's the 501st, every time they don't, it's a different Legion
RogersBase The Stormtroopers are NOT clones. For one, they all have different voices and two, if they were clones, why would they casually chit-chat with each other.
"Why are people so obsessed with Mandolorians vs Jedi?" "Because it's basically Star Wars Batman/Punisher vs space samurai." "...Shit, that actually sounds pretty cool."
This is one of my favorite fights in Star Wars because it’s an all out brawl. It’s messy, violent, fast-paced, and not drawn out. It really feels like two elite warriors desperately trying to get an edge over each other. It’s perfect.
Yeah!! I like how the vibe of the fight is pretty much just Jango and Obi-Wan mutually thinking "Oh no, damnit, oh man this sucks, I've got to finish this somehow," so they're not particularly flashy, but you can tell they're both amazingly competent fighters, so even in such a harried, stressed fight, they're both kicking ass. It just happens that they're both trying to kick ass as quickly and efficiently as possible so they can LEAVE. I also really like how Jango Fett's first thought is for Boba's safety, telling him to get inside, and how he tries to finish the fight with Obi-Wan as quickly as he can, even if that means just cheesing it out of there with his jetpack.
The way I see it, Jango Fett's the better warrior whereas Boba Fett's the better bounty hunter. If I had to engage one of them in a straight fight, I'd rather fight Boba than Jango, but if I were hiding somewhere in the galaxy, I'd rather hide from Jango than Boba.
You got a point there, mainly it's because Jango is a warrior first and bounty hunter second while on the other hand Boba is a bounty hunter first and warrior second.
That is an incredibly good point, especially when you look into the whole backstory stuff that builds up to moments like this. I mean, Jango was Manda'lore, Leader of the True Mandalorians who sought to rejuvenate their lost culture of honorable war and battle, he had a skewed moral compass but he very much had one and his primary goals were centered more around being a father and a leader than anything else. Boba, especially after his father was killed, lost the connection he had to being Mandalorian and pretty much gave up on that culture, and instead was forced to turn the skills he learned from a very young age to being able to survive in a galaxy being torn apart by war at every turn. If I remember right, he ended up basically being half raised by a bunch of the bounty hunters his dad used to partner with when on the job, and thus really saw no other way of life than BEING a bounty hunter. Plus, he saw what the warrior/soldier culture did to his father and the many clones that wore his father's face, and he most definitely didn't want that for himself. ...wow this got long.
Boba Fett - his only role in saga was tracking Millenium Falcon, his only battle was 10 seconds long, he didnt kill anybody, he had like 3 lines, he had no personality, his armor looks like a rusty can, his blaster was pretty generic, he immediately lost it to Luke and he got defeated, because blind guy pushed him into the pit. Jango Fett - had GIGANTIC role in saga, since entire army of clones was made after him, had 3 cool battles (here with Obi-Wan, then space battle with Obi-Wan, and then fight with Mace Windu), he easily killed a jedi master (who was also in the jedi council) and pretty much kicked Obi-Wan's ass (who was already pretty good in Episode 2), he had plenty of dialogue, he had an interesting personality, his armor looks sick, his dual pistols were really badass, and he only was defeated by motherfucking Mace Windu - second strongest jedi of his era, who also kicked Palpatine's ass. So, explain to me please, why the fuck first one has a giant army of fans, and the second one is barely mentioned anywhere? This is just straight up unfair. Jango deserves much better treatment, and Boba is absolutely overrated.
Михаил Пашковский Wrong. Boba Fett is the only person in Empire Strikes Back who succeeds in their mission. Everyone else fails big time, literally everybody, even Vader fails, none of this is Boba Fett's fault who did everything he was told to do with total professionalism. Thats why people like him, in Empire he's a royal pain in the ass for the rebels, a truly effective no bullshit, understated character. Thats also why people hate the treatment of him in Return of the Jedi - Lucas completely squandered a good character built up by the previous movie. Also Boba is Jango, Jango is Boba, they're the same damn character, whatever one can do, the other can too. People should really look at them as the same guy, really. Lucas included Jango pretty much as an apology to the the fans for how he treated Boba, the only reason he changed the name and outfit was likely to sell new action figures and toys of what is essentially a repackaged Boba Fett. People are essentially arguing over a character driven completely by business decisions.
he wasnt supposed to kill anyone, Vader and the emperor probably gave him orders to capture them alive if ever given the chance, theirs a reason he uses cables instead of a blaster or flame thrower... and we dont know who he did kill or didnt for sure, theirs alota dead bodies we dont get explanations for.... and missing bounty hunters etc
oh and besides jango fett is a great story, so complaining at all about the cloning thing is ridiculous, its a great backstory, a entire army of fetts... that slike epic :/
Something I always interpreted considering the cleanliness of the Fett's armor, was Boba's armor was all scratched up and damaged, while Jango's was silver and spotless. I always saw that of how much of a cleaner operator Jango was that he didn't even get his armor dirty.
This fight uses: lightsabers, guns, fists, legs and gadgets. One of the greatest fights ever. Also, if you think about it, it's highly realistic. Jango really struggles with Obi-Wan, using everything he's got, and Obi-Wan isn't reduced to an all-powerful jedi, who can just force blast Jango into oblivion. A truly amazing fight.
I love how Jango is able to hold his own against Kenobi even whilst disarmed. It makes him seem even more badass considering that Obi-Wan is a Jedi and Fett is only a man.
@@row5175 Not only a man. It was a duel between a Jedi knight and a Mandalorian soldier. In the history, the mandalorians are one of the most experienced warriors of the galaxy, like the Jedi. Remember the mandalorian wars? really hard to defeat.
@@rafaelcardenas1629 Definitely. You can see how well equipped mandalorians are to deal with jedi and their force abilities, and Jango's fighting style reflects his knowledge of his opponent.
@@austinbevis4266b-but how can it be Star Wars if you dont have a shithole not-tattooine( or actual tattooine) in it? originality or trying anything new? Hell no!
The camerawork leaves a bit to be desired, but the premise is phenomenal. A fight between a Jedi & a Mandalorian bounty Hunter on a rain-soaked landing platform over a bottomless ocean? So cool!
This fight demonstrates how badass Obi-wan and Jango are. It shows that Obi-wan is strong and skilled enough to take on a Mandalorian Supercommando, and it shows how Jango was so effective at killing and fighting Jedi, that it takes someone like Obi-wan, a Jedi Master in all but name, to provide him with an actual challenge.
Keep in mind, this was after Obi-Wan beat Darth Maul. The first Jedi to defeat a Sith in a thousand years, and a Mandalorian bounty hunter gave him a fair fight.
I just realized. Do you know how fucking insanely difficult it would be to use a metal cord, to catch your whole body weight, stopping suddenly, after hitting terminal velocity, in a rain storm, without either A: Sliding off the end, or B: Completely ripping off your hand?
@@DoubleClefFm Jango had Beskar armor. Kenobi was probably using the force to enhance his strength and speed but that armor still held. Plus Jango was a Jedi killer, I think Mandalorian in general are stronger and faster than normal humans.
@@DoubleClefFm it’s not easy to just use the force. It requires a lot of focus. That being said I think it would be pretty hard for Obi wan to focus while fighting a highly skilled jedi-killing Mandalorian.
@@DoubleClefFm doesn’t matter that Obi Wan is a jedi master. Skill wise, jango was highly lethal, and almost on par with him. Also it’s well known that the sequels just broke the established rules of Star Wars whenever they wanted.
Dodging Jango's bullets is no piece of cake, as this scene clearly demonstrates. That gives an idea how talented Mace Windu actually is, as he is able to block the shots even at close range.
Pretty sure Windu had some plot armor because Jango had a messed up jetpack (with no missile to fire as well), no other gadgets at his disposal apparently, as well as he only had one of his pistols instead of two. Anyways, sorry to respond to such an old comment.
What I like about this fight is that they finally show the Jedi doing some hand to hand combat moves (even if it was for like 10 seconds). Here you see they're not helpless suckers without their lightsaber. I wish this happened more often in the franchise.
It also showcases how dangerous Mandalorians can be, considering the fact that they have the confidence to fight space wizards with uber-powerful laser swords with their bare hands.
@@magetaaaaaa lol I guess that make sense. You could make the case that if he had forced jumped, he wouldn't have had enough force to protect his hands, so it was better to get dragged down and figure something else out.
Must be pretty awesome to be a Jedi, where not only can you reach maximum velocity on a fall and not so much as dislocate your shoulders or cut your hands on the cable when you suddenly stop, but also have big explosions go off right next to you without so much as any damage to your clothing. Ruins what is otherwise a pretty good fight.
Actually.... that's not even that abnormal for Jedi. Did you forget Luke's fall on Bespin after his fight with Vader? Or Darth Maul surviving being cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi and then tumbling down a similar fall? Yoda getting up after being blasted off the Senate platform by Palpatine like it was only a mild annoyance? Hell, even in the Darth Maul fight both Maul and Obi-Wan are thrown off the catwalks at varying times, and fall several stories onto a second steel catwalk (Obi-Wan landing mostly on his shoulders and NECK), and were completely fine. And that's only the movies. Vader had a fortress fall on top of him and he was fine, Maul was hit point blank by a grenade and hopped up like it was nothing, Anakin has been hit in the face with a grenade, and was only briefly dazed, Darth Bane was in a star ship that literally crash landed cockpit first, and suffered only minor scrapes and bruises, and a dislocated shoulder (that he fixed himself, and was ready to fight literally seconds after), Darth Malgus had a cliff collapse on top of him after being hit by a Force blast that levelled said cliff.... And you're complaining about Kenobi here?
KatakiDoragon Yes, and I'm going to let you in on a little secret: all those other things you listed are even more ridiculously stupid. And before you answer, those things have a lot less to do with Jedi powers than they do with just terrible writing.
David Gee Actually a lot of them are to show just how tough Jedi actually are. The bit with Luke, Kenobi and Maul, yes, just an oversight in the writing. However, Maul's survival after Kenobi cut him in half, Malgus surviving Satele Shan's force blast, Bane surviving the ship crash (and he's survived worse than that) and others are deliberately intended to show just how tough Jedi are (Bane even notes that the crash would have killed a normal person instantly). Maul's survival is an indication of just how ridiculously tough to hurt and kill Jedi and Sith can be. In the novelization of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi was shown to be so strong, when amplified by the force that he broke General Grievous's arm with one hand. Actually, hell, there's another showing of Jedi durability. Obi-Wan Kenobi's fistfight with General Grievous. Kenobi was getting hit by a guy who literally DENTED A STARSHIP with one of his punches (and in one of the comics literally punched Durge through a durasteel wall), and didn't even get a bruise out of it. Point being, even if you ignore the EU and look solely at the movies, Jedi are absolutely ridiculously tough and that little short of a direct, lethal hit from something will even so much as hinder them. Everything Kenobi does here (or rather isn't notably hurt by here), is completely in keeping with other showings by Jedi, and even himself, in the films. You don't complain that Spiderman doesn't break his arms when web swinging through New York, why complain that Obi-Wan didn't here?
KatakiDoragon First of all, how do you know what I think about Spiderman? That is the worst straw man argument I think I've ever read. However, you get an answer anyway. You can't compare the two as Spiderman's webbing stretches quite a bit and there's no "sudden stop". So amazingly, your straw man argument has been answered. As for everything else, it's just lazy storytelling. If a Jedi gets shot, he gets killed. Period. You're defending writers who insult your intelligence.
David Gee Really, I was just generalizing. You never see someone on a spiderman video complaining: "He can't swing like that, he'd dislocate his arm!" Incidentally, Spiderman's webs don't actually have THAT much flexibility. Gwen Stacy's (comic) death is evidence of that. You don't see people complaining about Peter Parker taking a grenade to the face in his (film) fight with the Green Goblin and suffering nothing more than a shredded mask, and getting knocked on his ass. So why suddenly make all these complaints here (this is another generalization-- I am not targeting these at you specifically, but I notice a surprising number of people seem to make these complaints on Star Wars videos, despite literally all Disney-canon material showing that Jedi are superhuman). As for "if a Jedi gets shot, he gets killed", that honestly depends, there've been cases in the EU where they have withstood it. Kyle Katarn lived through Darth Caedus ramming his lightsaber right through his chest. Hell, Galen Marek survived Vader doing the same thing, followed by Vader literally throwing Marek out into space without a protective suit. The movies clearly show that Jedi are much tougher than normal people and the Expanded Universe only bolsters this. Using Darth Maul again, if Maul can survive being cut in half from a STORYTELLING perspective, through the use of the force, it clearly shows that force users are considerably more resistant to injury. And again, Kenobi getting beaten up by Grievous yet not suffering any serious injury, despite taking full power punches from a guy who dented a starship with his fist. And that was only the movie-- as I mentioned in the novelization, Obi-Wan was able to overpower Grievous and bent his arm "like a cheap spoon". Jedi and Sith are basically superhuman. Even the movies show us this. I would assume you wouldn't complain if someone like Superman or Spiderman or Hulk got through a situation like that because: "Well they have superpowers". So do Jedi. They can protect themselves and augment their bodies with the Force.
must have seen this movie about 100 times and only just realised that when Jango is going into his ship, the door comes down and bumps his head! what a call back to episode 4 with the stormtrooper!
Yes, it is. You did research? They did that because jango fett was a clone that had their genes changed so that they can see what a clone does when they make them better.
Nah, his head doesn't hit it. The sound is simply from the door. He ducks before it hits him. Also, the stormtrooper that hits his head on the door frame in A New Hope isn't a clone of Jango. The clones have accelerated aging, remember. They're old by A New Hope. You meet three of them in Rebels, which takes place some years before A New Hope, and it seems like it's already a long time since the Empire released them from service. None of the Imperial troops in the OT are clones. They're recruits, trained at the Imperial Academy (where Luke was going to go when his uncle didn't need him on the farm anymore).
@@DarksaberForce Not one, but close to a dozen with his bare hands during that travesty that was the Battle of Galidraan. It was also where he first encountered Dooku who'd eff off to the separatists afterwards and his apprentice Komari Vosa who'd serve as the final boss in the Bounty Hunter game. Needless to say, Vosa posthumously donated her light sabers to Asaj Ventress.
He died in battle like a true Mandalorian, with honor (he went for the lightsaber instead of shooting him!) and with courage, and that's why Jango will always be my favorite of the father and son duo. Boba is an undeniably skilled, cunning, and terrifying bounty hunter with perhaps in the long run more name recognition than Jango, but he is still no match for his father. Anyone who's read some of the now non-canon (thanks, Disney) novels on Boba knows that he lives in the shadow of his dad, fully aware his father was one of the best, period. Jango taught Boba everything he knew, and was regarded by many as the best bounty hunter in the entire galaxy in the final years of the Republic. Also, let's not forget he had an entire army cloned of himself; that's pretty badass. His superior agility, hand to hand combat skills, arguably better accuracy, and with multiple Jedi kills under his belt, I think it's safe to say Jango was the stronger Mandalorian. But hey, that's just, like, my opinion, man.
Reedster Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe he was Mandalor before becoming a bounty hunter. It was then when he killed five or so jedi, with his bare hands!
Got to give Jango props for going after the force using jedi with only his guns and his talent as a bounty hunter. Who needs the force and lightsabers when you can just shoot the bastard.

Kaltagstar96 Then again not that I'm being a Trollinator BUT BUT ... imagine if BATMAN were in this scenario as he too like Jango Fett doesn't have The Force nor any outstanding Super Super Powers and such BUT yet Batman has his wits, natural skills and pure will and resources to take on almost any opponent; true Bane broke him for a year but still if BATMAN was in this scenario or SW as he also for a HUMAN BEING by HUMAN STANDARDS is VERY STRONG and he'd probably easily deck half the bounty hunters and such other characters in strict pure h2h combat or using his wits and such ... and the fact Batman probably could have insurance in the form of Cortosis, Phrik or Bes'Kar Gem ... and an incredibly indomitable will plus a smart mouth that could put the hurt in words on almost anyone ... although imagine if Jedi or Sith tried to use a Force Trick or Mind Trick on him ...
0:48 y’all don’t realize how impressive it is for Obi Wan to be going toe to toe in hand to hand combat with a Mandalorian, and also getting the upper hand at times too.
He's one of the best, most well-trained, focused and strongest Jedi ever. Not for nothing. Plus his real power is that he can adapt to every adversary, which makes him dangerous.
@@iseeyou4117 You don't need to see the series. Before the show even existed, in the lore Mandalorians are basically the Greek Spartans of Star Wars. Literally raised from birth to be warriors.
+Dimitri Sanchez (08Cheeseits) But the reason Bobba became a.bounty hunter is because he wanted to be like jango and wanted to get revenge on that jedi.
The purpose was to develop why Order 66 was necessary as a sudden implanted command. That it would take a division of clone troopers for each Jedi and an ambush. In this fight, Jango Fett fought a Jedi under ideal conditions for Jango Fett (and the worst for a Jedi) and it was an even fight. Amazing tricks, ideal setting, etc. used perfectly. Jango had just been upheld by the Clone Masters as the pinnacle of human conditioning and training. On par with a normal Jedi.
I both love and hate this fight. I hate it, because you know that Obi-Wan isn't going to die or get maimed due to episodes that follow. But I love it, because you see a regular guy who has a lifetime of battles under his belt kick the crap out of a space wizard that has super human powers.
Ultimate Entertainment boba literally just flew right in front of Luke's face and got his blaster cut in half, the tied up luke, fell over and then hit by a blind man, which caused him to fly into a wall that he could have grabbed into and into a pit.
Not a fan of the prequels, but while this fight did have some absurd moments (Obi Wan's plot armor is top notch to survive both missile fire and laser shots from Slave 1 at close range) I still did enjoy this fight. There was some actual tension with Jango and Obi resorting to actual physical combat and Jango proved even if he was mostly just a reason to get Boba into the prequels was still an awesome character in his own right. Def one of the moments I can sincerely enjoy
+Ray Muniz Agreed! This is what any fight scene in a movie should be like. There should be tension and we should be invested in our character! The switch from fancy lightsaber to straight up fist-fighting is an excellent way of upping the ante because the fight suddenly feels desperate and personal.
+Ray Muniz Jango might just be a way to get Boba into the movie, but he's a damn better character anyway. He.. ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHINGS with his screen time.
I love watching people argue about how much more badass Boba is than Jango or vise versa not taking into account that Boba literally is an exact copy of Jango lol.
In genetics sure, but not in experiences and therefore wisdom/training. Henceforth the arguments can commence, in fact their differences in skill can also be used to argue the whole nature/nurture thing too.
@@jimisland7664 frankly that's my biggest problem with this movie as a consequence lol, maybe Jango Fett has good genetics that make the clones easy to get in good physical shape/natural intelligence/etc but that doesn't mean they'll have it when they're born lol. Okay you got a million baby clones of the most badass guy ever... the badassery is from his life experience, not his genes.
well the lasers barely did any damage to the kamino landing platform anyway, so they must have been designed to resist/absorb the blast, and also obi wan was taken by surprise so he clumsily force launched himself backward and out of harms way. he had to use all his focus very quickly so he lost control of his light saber
es porque los jedis con la fuerza aumentan su resistencia y poder es por eso que pueden saltar como pulgas y resistir caidas de varios metros solo cuando se consentran
This fight scene is pretty underrated. Love how both fighters had to use everything at their disposal. This and their battle in space were absolutely awesome.
yep he earned millions of credits some of which he put away for Boba to find, he was a good father and a brilliant tactician and a great bounty hunter and one of the few non jedi jedi killers.
Can we appreciate the tight grouping of shots at 00:20 ? They rarely show the troops with great accuracy in Star Wars, but for Jango to not only be moving, but flying in the rain, with a helmet on,shows why he was such a deadly warrior. Anyone who has ever shot before knows how difficult to move and shoot is, add inclement weather and visors and you’re left with a lot of room for error.
In general, his helmet is not just a helmet, if you have seen the game Republic Commando, or read books about them, then you should know that the entire helmet is a complex of various electronics connected to the entire suit, not to mention such things as aiming assistance, night and thermal vision and considering Bescar's armor and jetpack, his armor is pretty much the best the Galaxy has offer to a soldier.
When you really focus on John William's soundtrack, the dude is just on it. So mich tone painting, so mamy transitional elements and cues. Every emotion or cobcern has a little piece. What a fantastic composer.
They're simply put just not very well made films. Doesn't mean that the overall story and vision is trash. What's really good about the prequels IS Georges vision, what's bad about it is his directing
Prequels are unnecessarily hated. They call out the bad acting, but hey its star wars and not the godfather. Eps 4 5 6 had its moments of shit acting too.
this scene would had been better if obi wan just let him self dive in to the water but with the help of the force slowly decreasing his speed of fall so he could no be hurt ..that scene of throwing the cable was too much ...the should hurt himself like that .....fuck that tracking device. .he could had done that before .
