I'll be honest. I've been following bands since 93,94, when i 1st heard my High school band, i fell in love and was hooked and been a bandhead ever since. to this very day, I still don't know a damn thing about the drummers or their battles. I've even seen what i would guess were heated or intense drum battles but they still it's mostly banging and beating for the most part. I even remember back in Highschool, when i 1st saw a band's drumline playing while the opposing band played. Even the home team's crowd of the band who's drums were playing were angry.
GAMB definitely took the W. The arrangements, BALANCE, blend, total package. I really want some folk to stop believing that LOUD is better. NOLA wasn’t as clean and per usual… the whole note stabs throughout most of their arrangements- it just gave “typical” and we need more. No shade to NOLA at all.. they are good, but GAMB was just better 🤷🏽♂️
Why do folks alway say we left the door when we play an out the box piece?! Lol No band ever has a response for it. 2019 we played Lion King against MMB, and they tried to counter it with Trap Avengers. 2021 - AOT theme, no response. 2022- Spain & Gohan's Anger, no counter 2023 - The Rumbling, & Hogwarts Legacy, no countee 2024 - XLTT & Cowboy Bebop, "the door left open"?! Lol Hilarious! Lol
I definitely have seen not just me but other reactors say the same thing with these arrangements and when you put it like that I think it’s more so just different . So I will admit that being “ different “ sometimes may come off as leaving the door open , Simply because it’s not what we’re used to to hearing , but I respect your opinion most definitely
2nd round. i didn't care for either song. However. if i had to choose a song i liked better it would be drowning. and i hate to say that because i was soo sick of hearing that song. But that song Gamb played was Just not it for me at all. It reminds me of that tv show from the 70's or 80's. this detective show,like inspector gadget, Barnaby Jones or something. The way i look at it is. If someone was to torture me by playing either of those songs over and over. Which song would drive me crazy the fastest... Playing drowning over and over would greatly irritate the hell out of me, But i definitely think hearing that gamb song over and over would drive me crazy faster. Both bands sounded good playing their songs, so it came to song selection. And since i disliked both songs, I have to pick the song that i disliked the least. So Drowning won that round to me.
@@ScoobyDaEuphoGawd i didn't care for either songs, but just because 1 is more technical than the other, that does not mean the technicality will make it sound better. As i said, i had to pick between 2 bad songs. And surprisingly, that song got beat out by Drowning of all songs.
@@EarthAngel504 it definitely sounded better. You just don't want to give the round solely because it's NOLA. If NOLA could arrange, and execute something of that caliber, you would have gave it to them.
If there will be a setup like this next year - wherever that may be - NO and GAMB need to combine powers and play Real Big or some popular unison arrangement😂😂😂
Honestly I believe they blend better than some other bands I’ve heard this season . Georgia just had their number in this battle , but then again I believe Georgia would’ve had everyone’s number honestly . Several different arrangements had a variety of taste And musicality 🔥
That last round make you sound N.O. bias.. Tuba came in a hair early on "clear the smoke" vs NO fckd up all through "real big"...."yeaaa ima give that round a tie".🤯.. Stop it.. starting to think these "ties" are a way to try and please everybody🤷🏿♂️...Did the shot go in or not? What I'm saying is, YES, this was a wash, and i feel like he KNOWS it was a wash. These "ties" are a mockery to the sport. #PickOne
He did NOLA a favor. Even with GAMB tubas coming in a hair early, NOLA had been fucking up the whole night. GAMB had 2 mistakes the WHOLE battle. In one song, NOLA had 6.
Y'all do know we never got rid of the big ass band! Lol We was 350 last year. Was 330 this year! Lol 20 ppl made that much of a difference?! Lol The arranger wrote how they wanted to write. Stop with this whole note ministry crap. If whole notes are so easy to play, why we the on mass band with a solid wall of sound versus moments of being loud?

Because I peeped your whole note ministry comment but it definitely translated on the field to a lot of us with that size that y’all had last year … once the certain sections declined in numbers it’s like y’all whole book was different
@bandbruhzss the increase or decrease of any section, does not influence how our arrangers write. They wrote how they wanted because that's what they heard. I ask all the time what song did we play last year that was mostly whole notes and no one can say yet they repeat the same joke. As far as our book. I'll liked our obtused arrangements from last year more than this year. I don't care for rap tunes so I wasn't moved either way.

@@bandbruhzss That's always been my problem with (some, a lot) GAMB ppl. They don't want you to just give them props. They have a god complex and want you to get on your knees to suck them off. I know All allstar bands talk trash. But these dudes take it to a whole other level; want Praise and worship from you. and if you don't they say you're a hater or bias.. Then when it get to the point that you just don't want to deal with them. They go around saying you hating on their band because they're sooo good. They create self fulfilling prophesies, then play the victim and call you a hater.. smh. these dudes bruh. lol
