This is one of the best beginner tutorials BandLab that I’ve seen! I like the way you explain each element - clear and concise for a basic lesson. Keep making these tutorials! Thanks
this definitely helped me because some of the things bandlab could do i didn’t even kno and i’m trying to become better at audio and background adlives for my song
You take the time to explain so much but yet, you flip through it so fast! I appreciate that! Learn lots and is little as possible! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos!! 23:56
Thank you so much for the tutorial Pete! I just downloaded the app and this is my first time ever creating music and this video has really helped. Question though. Like the piano and drum, is there way how I can use the guitar where I am hitting a strum pattern fast?
Hey there. Not 100% sure what you’re asking sorry. Check out my other. Ideas here that might help. ru-vid.com/group/PLc8Xg_23Wa56jGYADzGja3mHOpX1t6zbR&si=-9fPCKfX57rY1VkQ
You are a good teacher Pete. This band lab has been really well thought out. I haven’t really looked at it cos I’m happy with GarageBand but it does seem to cover everything. Just 1 question; is it stand alone or do you need internet?
That’s a good question mate? It definitely needs internet access to save files as it stores then in the cloud. Not sure if you can record and edit offline and then it uploads when you’re back online? I’ll have to check it out.
Hello there, and thanks for this video! Today I installed the BandLab app on my Galaxy Tab A7 (Android) and connected a MIDI keyboard via USB-B to USB-C cable. I hear the notes playing. My question is, how to display more than just 2 OCTAVES on the on-screen keyboard? 3-4 Octaves total would be awesome...would appreciate that very much! Thanks!
I don’t believe this is adjustable in BandLab sorry. You might need to consider an external MIDI keyboard. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N1gHwJlap2s.html&feature=shares
Excellent tutorial. Can the loops, one shots, etc be downloaded on to a sd card, or does it have to go straight into the devices hard drive? Referencing Android S10 phone.
Excellent, pedagogical introduction. Just one question. Your example used an IOS device, so I have a question. Android gets some criticism for audio latency out and about on the web. Have you tested recording vocals to a multitrack project on an Android device? Any notable differences in latency, and if so, how did you handle them?
Yup. Everything in BandLab can be used royalty free in all your songs. Just ensure you use multiple loops and samples together, as sometimes other people use loops and then add RU-vid Content ID.
I love this tutorial ! I’ve seen some yet on Bandlab but this time I’ve really learned something! Also like your singing voice and the example of a song you’ve made here sounds great! I have a for me very important question : for track one, the loop of Bandlab you choosed, I find it very unfortunate it’s not indicated which Bandlab Sound or loop it is. Among other things it’s important for me when for example I’ve saved my song and later I want to know which loop I’ve choosen. Is there a way to fix that problem? I would be very happy to know because this is the reason for me whether to use Bandlab or not in the future.
Pete, great stuff as always... Can a SMF file done in Cakewalk/Bandlab on Computer, be imported to this App on Ipad and then continue working? Thanks, David
That’s a great question David? Not something I’m familiar with. I would think not, as there’s only the option to import audio, not open a project? I’ll ask over at the Cakewalk group and see if anyone has tried it.
@PeteJohnsMusic Thanks,im a drummer starting backing track, and splitting music from my phone,to front desk on left channel and click to me on the right,Thanks.
How can it be free? It looks like am optimised GarageBand with the advantage of availability on windows. I started with GarageBand on iPad and add Cubasis 3. Cubasis is from my point of view an outdated DAW, which looks and behave like 90s and even Craig on my iPad. Bandlab looks interesting. But it’s free? How ?
Hey Thies. Yes, the BandLab company have a bunch of different businesses such as the free Cakewalk on PC and BandLab web based DAW, and they subsidise this by other businesses that generate revenue. I understand why you're skeptical - I was (and still am) in many ways... but I think they are just doing what they can to get as many folks in their systems as possible.
@@PeteJohnsMusic well i have my head phones mic on but idk how to turn my phones si i dont rap from my earpuds but from my phone u get me any way thanks for rplying ❤️

@markrobertson2358 You are always welcome Pete, looking forward to your lessons of the future and past, showing us, what a wonderful DAW even Garage Band is, l purchased Logic Pro X for my 2 , 16inch MacBook Pro’s with 2 licences, but, truly I enjoy the experience and ability of Garage Band, even though my pre Logic Pro’s songs which loaded automatically into Logic Pro X from within Garage Band truly sound so much sweeter within Logic Pro X which now l am retired from the Australian professional Army, l intend on watching lots of yours and Patrick Bairds excellent teaching videos, thanks so much again Pete, @@PeteJohnsMusic .
