Sepultura announced a farewell tour in 2024 as well... ending the band with 40 years of history.

Technically Kiss has not stopped touring or called it quits. They have transformed into an Avatar band and will continue on for eternity.

They stopped touring as kiss after Eric Carr died until the 90s when Peter Chris came back. So technically they stopped touring for a moment

Not everyone retires....Paul McCartney and Cliff Richard spring to mind. Like in normal life, not everyone wants to retire. Sad for those who have, but I'm sure most will be happier. ❤

Was in the industry at the time so if I didn’t have anything on, I’d see whatever was playing given I never had to pay. 2 x Kiss Farewell Tour shows in the space of probably five years was ridiculous, so farewell 💋, I’M done now 😂

You were incorrect when you said that the eagles and Aerosmith were the most commercially successful bands of all time. Maybe in the USA, but in the whole world, definitely not, both pink floyd and led zeppelin have been more commercially successful than those groups. Each of these have sold 45 million albums in just the USA alone.

Sorry, but too many bands call it quits but they never go away. Heck Foreigner is back again touring next year. It is always funny the "farewell tours" that never end.

@@2v_5r84 Ozzy has done multiple farewell tours, KISS, Black Sabbath, Scorpions., The Who, LCD Soundsystem, Motley Crue. I am not talking about extended farewell tours that take longer than a year, I stand corrected with Foreigner. I am talking about coming back after it is over.

In my opinion anyone who gives up their style from the early adulthood, has died from the neck up. I'm 62 and have dressed in a set of styles I have worn, since my late teens and early twenties. Get old....you might as well, drop off the twig.

The KISS farewell tours are just another cash grab. KISS fans complain about everything they do, yet keep buying their garbage. KISS ceased as a Band, and became a Business very early on. The so called music was just a front to sell their merch.
