Bandura's Social Learning Theory - Simplest Explanation Ever 

Thank you for such a simple yet comprehensive presentation. As per discussion it is very concerning what children are exposed to with regards to media. Yes , parents have to ensure that they have sone form of control over what they expose their children too, but I feel that policy has let us down, it is too relaxed, and many companies are enjoying exponential profits from this content at the expense of our children. As much as we want to keep them away, once they arevin school and have social circles, peer pressure now comes into place, peers show and talk about certain tv games, shows etc and creates curiosity, they develop outrageous intelligence such as knowing how to bypass passwords etc...its a mess!!!!

Firstly, i thank you for this wonderful presentation! As a part of a discussion i can say that , yes our children influenced by the social media and they are much attracted towards that games and videos which are not that much helpful for their improvement...so we must take care of them properly .

Related to Discussions yes the young minds are influenced by both positive and negative content observed directly or indirecty ,hence teaching self control to them by creating awareness in both ways ,its like showing them the bad world and good world with their impacts in their personality .

Now about the discussion questions, When I was teaching in a school, we requested parents to not allow the children to watch Shin Chan as we found that the elementary school children were getting influenced with it and were being more aggressive towards their peers . Now I'm working as a counseling psychologist and before corona I was regularly getting clients who were getting violent after getting addicted to PUBG.

Regarding the influencing in young minds with violence in media, I think people who argue that this does effect children negatively don't give enough credit to children. It seems to me that the majority are clearly quite capable of separating fiction and "play" from reality and what behaviours are expected of them in certain social contexts. Additionally, we've been running this experiment for quite some time now, and overall violence continues to drop in societies with violent films and video games.

However, alongside their growth, it can be beneficial to witness some negative sides in their lives, thereby preparing for the intricacy of society.

As for the discussion questions, no doubt unregulated access to mainstream media, films video games and social media has a direct influence on learning and behavior in children and even adults through vicarious learning and imitation. Society does have a responsibility to consider the impact of aggressive behavior since the children as well as members of the society do get influenced. We should not assume that all children have parents or guardians to regulate screen time or access to online content. Some are busy, others would not care less, others are struggling with their own social issues and yet others could be perpetrators of violent behavior! Negative behavior ends up affecting society through for example drunk driving, gang related crimes, gun violence, drugs problems among other social vices,

As educators, we MUST choose our role models on display very wisely in our milieus. Students must understand the difference between learning a concept and learning from a role model. These things must be explained when using various sources/resources especially in the arts/music.

I think that Games and Movies actually have Their impacts on our minds. As i am a Gamer, and i play alot of Fighting games, so whenever i am playing these games, i get automatically aggressive, my mood changes, my way of speaking and alot of other impressions. This my POV and free for Critics.

As per discussion though in my view society and producers have tried by age restrictions as well as accounts of goggle linked to parents and as much as children are sensitive ,parents should have a full time job of protecting children against such exposure and yes so much impact is done on children but we can only protect them as much as we can be fair to adults who enjoys watching that to films , I mean not completely take it off our screens but it is a full time job for a parent to be that much over protective to their kids

Thank you for sharing your video; with regards to the issue, it is apparent that media has an effect on children. However, I would like to emphasise that video games, particularly endless ones like Minecraft and frustrating ones like FallGuys, make children more aggressive and self-isolated. After pausing their games, we all noted that they are hyperactive due to the games triggering their GAPPA receptors for pleasure.

But the key element was the adult was hitting the Bobo doll. In movies and games, there is no social interaction. The idea of 'scoring a point is not worth as much as social interaction. So I would say we should base behavior amongst adults but movies and TV's are less important. Then we have the question of why is your child watching an 18+ show in the first place?

Well, childrens won't have an access to social media (where most aggressive content can be found) if parents don't allowed them to. So, yeah, parents are responsible for the behavior of their children. Don't let them use gadgets unless they are fully matured enough. Also, model an exemplary behavior, as stated by Bandura, that children learn through observation.

Society and parental caregivers are responsible when it comes to the reinforcement of negative behavior. How much exposure to the child is important also. Monitoring what children hear and watch is crucial. This is where the environment comes in, the philosophy of the adults and their influence, the observational as well as language learning. We are all born with the inherent traits of our parents. As a child matures will depend on those traits as well as the guidance of the parents to reinforce the negative as well as the positive rewards. I came up with watching violence in movies. Black and White TV with James Cagney, Humprey Bogart, George Ralph. Cowboys shoot them up everywhere the issue is mentoring the child as to what is real and what is not. How the child intakes information without instruction leaves it up to the child to come to their own imagination and formation of opinions which is part of how they see the world. The BoBo doll has been criticized for how it was conducted. First, He used children from the university child care of employees, All of the same social background and parent's mindsets as an educated and racial similarity. Also, there is no empirical research on this group of children as they matured and how this BoBo experiment affected them. What was the outcome without continued exposure did they continue with the behavior outside of the study to others like family or at school.? When I was on 4 grade. I was play a game that banned from many country. Name's postal 2. My father bought it from store and he think it's a normal game about delivery service and a lil bit pew pew like gta. My english wasnt good back then. I found out that, I can torture people there like incinerate, chop people's limb and etc. I love how people beg for mercy, scream of pain and pleeding for their life. I play it almost everytime I can play games on pc, every saturday night because I dont want my parent find out that this game is sick. Fast forward on my 25 yo, I still not have any interest of blood. I even avoid any gore video and movie such isis decapitate western journalist and saw films. I never bully someone except being toxic that I got from my mother. But I still have internal urge having pleasure over people's suffering and misery, both mentally or physically. I don't know if this urge from games that I played when I was a kid, or from my natural gene. Because I have something almost similiar when I was kindergarten age. My dad did violence over my mother and me. I dont know for sure if this the cause. But today, the urge still there, getting more and more worse but I never do any such temptation.
