In my opinion the best and most accurate depiction of Bane outside the comics is from the Arkham Origins video game. They really managed to expertly portray Bane's intelligence and struggle with Venom as well as his Santa Priscan background in that game.
@@The_Phantasm he's a wrestler from WWE who stands up to 7ft tall, weighs up to 323 lb of pure muscle, and starred as a slasher villain in both of the *See No Evil* movies
@@damianprock1650 hes not in the peak physique he was in those movies anymore tho but I'm sure a good workout regimen would get him back right he'll definitely need to get some coaching on being bane tho since bane is simple but complex not just brute strength but also smart
That's one of my favorite episodes of the underrated 1990s Superman cartoon when Bane gets his clock cleaned. Thinking he's fighting Batman when he's actually fighting Superman. Also that's the episode when Superman fights without his cape. Against Brainiac.
Bane is the "vemon"version to Batman. He is Batman ultimate villain. When u look at his ability his knowledge his ways he is better and more ruthless then all his villains.
“Rick Flag, who was played by Rick Flag, who also played Bane in Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises”….I’m sorry, what? I don’t believe Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) was part of Dark Knight Rises. I’m lost on this.
@@Desinist I think the script writer confused the time that Tom Hardy was originally cast to play Rick Flag in the Suicide Squad movie but he later dropped out of the role.
Bane even learned martial arts by reading books on them. Shows how intelligent and prodigious he was. Also Superman is not a god. He is “god-like” in strength, but not a god.
Wow.. Batman & Robin was most Definitely the movie I watched as a Child that Programed me to believe that Bain was a Big Strong Mindless Brute... I never would have thought he was a SMART GUY WITH MUSCLES to match... Tom Hardy definitely did Bain Justice as his portrayal...
I'm probably gonna get hanged for this but I stand by my view that Bane is Batman's greatest enemy as he is every Batman is; brains and brawn all rolled into one, not to mention similar training too, having been trained by the league of assassins.
Bane a proven time and time again that he’s stronger then croc, on top of being an expert martial artist, only thing croc has going for him in that department is his claws and looks.
@@hazardous8301 1. The video is talking about intmidating, not strength. 2. Notice that every time Bane has "proven that he's stronger than Killer Croc" it has been a very strong version of Bane and a very weak version of Croc, in the Arkham Universe Croc is a heck of a lot stronger than Bane
@@TD-ht8dz you clearly haven’t read comics. Also where is croc ever shown to be stronger then Bane in the Arkham verse? Croc hating Bane is a pretty big aspect of his character in almost every iteration, and it’s because Bane always ends up Bitching Croc and one point or another.
This bane guy overlaps too much as a villain with the joker... we already saw this "my plan is chaos" thing... he is a muscle Joker, no fun but all the... chaos. Having his origin explained doesnt do much for the situation. The mystery in the Joker s origin is part of his charm.
3:13 can you tell me which comic is this? Lately I've been trying to remember which comic i read decades ago but i couldn't even remember what it was about, but this is one of the comics I've read it's incredible how those pictures are so familiar now, i would love to read this again so can you tell me which comic is?
Personally i think they should of used tom hardys voice, but the guy that played "the mountain " in game of thrones body. He would be a more believable Bane
if bane really wanted to he would just break peoples necks to kill them... he is stronger than all of the heroes and villains and would only require a hold on the hero and a twist of their neck at any time to kill any of them, thus making bane the strongest villain of them all, he could even kill all the villains and THEN kill all the heroes just to prove a point, so basically... making bane NOT kill anyone he fights basically makes him the hero of any story he is in as he does not want to kill his enemies, he just wants them to suffer the humiliation of him defeating them....
Batman did beat bane in the second fight in the Dark Knight risers by the time Tanya stabbed in the actual fight was already over Batman clearly won the fight 🦇🦇
@@K4yhkoThe third movie felt rushed. Like, there was some cool build up, but then everyone started dying in dumb ways. To your point, it almost felt like it was supposed to be a 2 parter.
Nope. He is a man of plan, schemes and purpose. The Joker is simply chaos that feeds on the Batman's need to right the wrong. The Joker is the definitive nemesis of Batman
You forgot to mention he was also part of the Secret Six, where Bane is shown to have a father-daughter relationship with Scandal Savage. What makes this run important for Bane is the fact that we had the opportunity to see him act as a human being and not the ruthless monster (as he is usually portrayed) and his interaction with the team was pretty interesting.
Oh yeah. I think Bane deserves his own film like Joker. Film with his backstory, parallels with Bruce's childhood, rise to glory, his master plan and breaking Batman's back. Both brain and brawn. Deadly combo 💪🧠
Yea, I think a batman series from the perspective of the criminals and their interactions with Batman could be fun. Really make Batman a boogie man, the opps fleeing him like Jason Voorhees or something.
Batman: Knightfall Saga is one my most favourite of all time, both graphic novels by Dough Moench and Chuck Dixon, and the prose novel version by Dennis O'Neil are great examples to re-read the best Batman stories of all time.
I think the script writer confused the time that Tom Hardy was originally cast to play Rick Flag in the Suicide Squad movie but later dropped out of the role. Since Bane was portrayed by Tom Hardy in Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy and Joel Kinnaman played Rick Flag in the Suicide Squad films. Though he was right about Bane actor Tom Hardy playing Venom in the Marvel Universe film albeit that it wasn't necessarily a true Marvel Cinematic Verse film at the time as it was made by SONY. It was interesting though to hear the comparison between Bane's Steroid like use of Venom in the DC verse to the Marvel Verse's Venom symbiote. I guess the takeaway here is that Tom Hardy really does love all things Venom. lol
The mask is a pointless aesthetic. The Nolan movie was a fine adaptation. Not everything has to hit tit for tat and Nolan made the few changes to make you think Talia wasn't the child in the story. Smart move.
They should make this backstory into a film. They missing a trick and don't even need batman in it as he has fought killer croc and others in the past but the whole story of him and what happened to his mom and the prison and the testing is a dark story that would make a great film
I still have that comic book series Knightfall it was freaking awesome seeing Bane break the back of Batman and then Azriel taking over in that weird robotic Batman suit those were the days.
Bane being a B-class bad guy is understandable. He's an addict to a drug that makes him a hulking super-human. He's a reverse Lex Luthor... Lex Luthor going the injected drug route as a last resort instead of a primary contact point. DC Comics has no shortage of genius-level bad guys, no shortage at all. Bane is just the anti-Batman reverse Lex Luthor guy who has a Mexican pro-wrestler persona. He's a great bad guy... an awesome one. However, he, by his very nature, is permanently a B-class bad guy. To alter that is to destroy everything that makes him great.
Bane is one of those guys that Batman knows he can call in if he needs backup. Like, Batman has two superhumans from his own roster who are good enough people to tag in as Batman. Bane and Azrael.
When done right in the animated films or series or for sure the comics Bane is the best villain for Batman NOT named Joker. He is that layered a character and can have endless stories adding him in them.
I'm sorry about what happened to Bane's parents! I'm glad his father's still alive! I'm also sorry that Bane witnessed what happened to his mother! I can't believe Bane was born where he shouldn't be and the strange law! They're outrageous! The warden got what he deserved. I've seen Bane in "Batman and Robin" and "Batman: The Brave and the Bold"! I didn't even know who he was at the time. I've seen him in a book, too. I felt sorry for Batman when Bane defeated him.😔 I didn't know all these facts about Bane or the knowledge he has. I like geology!
Bane has had two good appearances. His initial comic book one and Nolan's induction. Gotham's "bane" is laughable and we all know about Batman and Robin. Bane IS an A list villain he's had limited roles and stories that matter. Flipping back and forth is and was a terrible idea. His depiction the Injustice storyline makes him almost dumber than in Batman and Robin, if you can believe that.
17:00 only Blake knew Gordon didn't find out until the last 5 minutes of the movie.... Batman: A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat on a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended. Gordon: Bruce Wayne?
One of my favorite villains along mad hatter. Bane is extremely interesting and smart, I actually think arkham origins Bane is spot on the best version of him.
My personal favorite portrayal of Bane would be his appearance in the animated movie "Batman Vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", in which he was one of the villains at Arkham Asylum that was mutated by the mutagen ooze, and he was transformed into a mutant jaguar (though in the comics, he was actually turned into a mutant elephant). During his fight with Donatello and Batgirl, he tried to finish off Donnie with the same back-breaking move that he used on Batman in the past...but it didn't work too well on Donatello because of his hard shell, which resulted in Bane just injuring himself instead. XD
Bane is not a B level villain, the man can easily be the main antagonist of a full movie just like joker Honestly one of the main batman villains I think can warrant being a main antagonist
@@alfonsopina3976 it's not like your choice is any different, Javier Bardem is British, Kane would be a better fit for the role of Bane because he's 7ft tall like the Bane from *Batman:Arkham Origins,* he weighs up to 323 lb of pure muscle, the right amount needed to snap Batman's spine like a twig, and he's had experience playing the villain before if you remember the *See No Evil* movies
If I remember right, Bane was also created at least partially to cash in on the hype of "The Death of Superman" with an idea of, essentially, "Batman's Doomsday"
I never did like the non comic iterations of bane. They focus on making him a bit too muscular and immobile. The thing about the comic book version of bane was yeah he was built like a brick shithouse but it didn’t come at the cost of his agility. He was a peak physical specimen not some humongous mogaloid. I think the worst version was the one from Batman and Robin. He was lumbering and was dumb as a box of rocks. As far as his status among the rogues gallery… I do agree his story over time along with the flip flopping has tarnished what I think in the beginning was one of the best Batman villains. He basically the flip side of Bruce. Bruce and him both lost their parents, Bruce had money while bane had nothing, Bruce trained his body and mind but so did bane. It was the fact that even before venom Bane was a man in peak physical shape and had a genius intellect. So basically as good as Batman. Then ya put the venom into play… well you got a superhuman version of Batman but only evil.
To be fair, can you blame Bane for turning out the way he did? Another reason he's one of my favorite antagonists. Man, we lost both Henry Silva and Kevin Conroy in 2022. Respect to these guys for making our childhoods awesome 😎.
Security Guy: Ahh! Who are you? Cartman: [in Bane voice] It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan. You should have respected my authoritah
Rick and Morty did some New to Honor this Great Super Soldier with a Luchador Style and a Intelligent Mind,When Someone is Breaking Backs, that's What it Calls "The Bane".
