Best version of this song! Your interpretation evokes I think exactly the mix of feelings one may have after the death of father who served in combat as a pilot or crew. It calls out to all of us who flew in combat and to those who loved and cared for us. This old pilot thanks you.

Ich hab sofort deinen Kanal abonniert,um noch mehr von euch zu hören. In deiner version bekomme ich nicht immer nasse Augen, wie bei Emmylou. :) Mich rührt dieser song, nun auch in deiner Version, immer wieder an,vorallendingen, wenn man die Bilder dazu sieht, die einen Teil dieses ganzen Leids zeigen. Seit 80 Jahren halten amerikanische Soldaten ihren kopf für andere hin, weil die Politik es nicht hinkriegt, und das Leid für die Angehörigen nimmt kein Ende! Wieder mussten Soldaten, gerade erst vor 3 Tagen, sterben in Afghanistan. Also,herzlichen Glückwunsch nochmal zu diesem tollen cover,es ist mindestens genauso gut wie das original und ich werde in Zukunft immer beide hören!!!

My daughter is dating a Marine who did three tours of Afghanistan and the atrocities of war that he told us about will remain in my mind forever. He was on the front lines as a Gunnery Sergeant. The horrific events of the past few days are beyond atrocious and once again, my future son in law, as does the rest of the United States, mourns his fallen comrades.
