The cargo ships birth at Klong Toey port which was the main sea port in Thailand for several decades before Laen Chabang deep sea port, Chonburi, took over the role about 30 years ago. However, smaller cargo ships still birth at Klong Toey port even now.
Very nice area on the water, surprisingly I’ve never been there…..always showing me so many places that I need to visit when I can return, thanks for another interesting video Jeroen……and…..see you in your next video!
Awesome video.... really nice sunset by the water and easy acess by BTS.... these mini trips around Bangkok plus surrounding areas are fun for everyone to explore
I was watching on google maps for food markets which are not so famous and where not so much tourists are but with easy access with BTS and found this one. Then I asked GTM if he knows it and if it is worth to go there. And finally he made this video.
At the river, in front of this area, was New Amsterdam during the Ayudhaya’s period, around 350 years ago. The settlement of Dutch trading community-probably VOC’s warehouse and the Dutch’s village, were located around. Now is the area near Wat Phra Samut Jedee.
When searching Google maps to see where you were on this trip to Samut Prakan, I noticed a nearby place called Ancient City. It looked very interesting, and I thought it might make a good video to ride through it, should you get the chance. Thanks for this video. I.will visit the Black Market and the river walk area when in Bangkok!
Great video of my home province :) At the 7:35 mark, the blue building on the right is the Samut Prakan Immigration Office if anyone ever needs to handle 90-day checkins or visas. Funny thing is, I try to get in and out of that area as soon as possible because, well, who wants to be at immigration all day. But you just showed me a whole side to the area I never knew about. Will be making a trip there soon.
As you pass by people taking pictures near the river I hear them speaking Myanmar. My hometown Mahachai Samutsakhon has so many Myanmar workers that I've heard of it before.
Black market is on my list for the next time we are in bkk in combination with the river. Is there also a restaurant on the river where you can sit, have a drink and watching the sunset?
Wow, thanks for another great video, GTM! Paknam is quite a gem of a city isn’t it. Not that far from BKK. What a nice little river walk. How far does it go? I’d definitely go hangout there in most evenings ☺️. What a catchy name, huh Black Market😂😂 that looks like a very cool place to visit too. I’ve got to make plans to visit Paknam in my future visit. 👍
"black market" has another meaning...I wonder if that's why they chose it. The confederate flag was a little disconcerting. This was a nice trip though.
I’ve gone from watching beautiful islands in Indonesia to here for some reason,,lol the world is a beautiful place,it’s a shame it’s run by hell bent fuckers who want to screw it up this is just my opinion,,,,always a pleasure watching Jeroen peace and happiness as always
