I'm Thai. I can confirm that Gary is a real deal when it comes to Thai food. He knows the ingredients better than many Thais. He studies from the root. This gives him such a strong foundation.

I can say this guy knows exactly where to eat authentic Thai food. Like he said, this Pa Tong Go is much better than the one in China town. This one is the real Pa Tong Go which is hard to find to eat these days. Fluffy, airy, and crispy with unique smell…mmm yum 😊
Watched a few videos of Gary and enjoyed them. Thai food is amazing, far better than Cambodian cuisine. I'm a pesterian and love mushrooms. The soy bean ice cream is yummy. I drink tons of black bean soy and love the taste. I can actually make my own coconut oil which takes sometime to make. Have you noticed the ''dope shops'' situated around Bangkok? Legal smoking will attract many tourists 💨

As a Thai as well. You can't really consider Gary to be "like a local" at this point HE IS THE LOCAL😂. He's nationally English but spiritually Thai 🤣. He literally introduced you guys to not only delicious Thai dishes, but the dishes that was made by the best of the best. A lot of foreigners are hyped up about restaurants with Michelin star/guides which don't get me wrong, those are GOLD! .... Gary just took you to Diamond and Platinum 😂. It's always the inconspicuous places that really served the best of the best dishes. They just haven't been discovered by all the food critics. You guys definitely hit the Jackpot with this food tour! 😊

Garry is definitely the go to guy when it comes to local eatery, i mean, Im thai and spent 30 years of my life in BKK and i think he knows more restaurants than i do.
The restaurant that you go to is a restaurant that I used to eat regularly when I was in school, that area is called "Sam Phraeng". There are many Thai restaurants, snacks and traditional food shops, I hope you can taste many types of Thai food as well, Explore more deeply because there is much more Thai food that tourists have never tasted and known about, enjoy all the flavors of Thai food😋❤️
With Gary, you basically each the finest version of food at reasonable cheap price in Bangkok. he knows Thai food similar to how Thai do and even check almost if not all the best one in Bangkok.
Strictly speaking " I-tim gati sod" or Thai coconut ice cream isn't ice cream it's more accurately a sorbet. The genuine article contains no dairy and has lovely coconut perfume. Sadly all too often it is actually coconut dairy ice cream which isn't any where near as nice as authentic i tim gati sod.
hahaha no no we couldn't do that to Caolan🤭 He loved the dished he tried!! Gary knows all the best spots, so it was great for Caolan to be able to try some lovely veggie dishes. Thanks for watching ❤
I thank you very much for taking a peak in my home country, Thailand, and I'm one of those who followed Rome cook too, and if there's a next time, I want you to do 4 more EPs, 1 each EP, local food? Thai food in 4 regions and I want to know What can foreigners eat and not eat? And it's good to have non-meat eaters too. If you go to other trays of Thailand, what local food will you be able to eat? That is, as far as I know, I am from the northeastern region. So I think that every Isthon food has almost everything meat. It's very hard to have only vegetables. I haven't lived in Thailand for 18 years and will move back to Thailand by the end of this year. Hope you will get a chance to try cooking videos of each region or local cuisine. Thank you very much everyone, have fun and enjoy eating.

The taste was delicious and we have been completely fine after eating, no issues at all 😊 I think your right that some tourist may be afraid. But it’s worth it to try, especially if you know someone like Gary who can direct you the right way.
"Mun" does mean oil or fat, but the word also means moreish or morish, as in if a food is so good you want to eat more of it, or an activity is such fun you want to do more of it.
14:01 Patongo is not Thai food. Everyone in Thailand knows that it is Chinese food. But dipping in custard sauce (Sangkaya) .It is Thai people who invent and build on the balance. That “ PA TONG GO” (deep-fried dumplings) shop is very old recipe, you can see from that big chopstick and the way they attach The dough Together. And the original one is crispy from outside and lots of airspace inside

Mate my advice if you looking for Authentic Thai food you can get in the Middle of Siam district, Goto MBK Food court most of the store in MBK Food court they been opening more than 60 they the first food court in Thailand, I was eating they since I was a kid is open before I even born in 39 now.
Thailand is a kingdom of food Because I've never eat "ba mee kua moo dang" even though I'm Thai and I think in my life I'll probably only eat 20% of all Thai food😢😂
