Nice Daytrip inside the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. Koh Kret is an Island that is formed in a bend in the Chao Phraya River.
We did the whole trip for around 340 THB per person, which is about 9 euro or just over 10 usd p.p. including lunch drinks and transport. It's just a great day out in the weekend for expats who live in Bangkok or future travelers.

Nice to see your transportation with the New MRT line, and take a Taxi to Pak Kret/ Koh Kret. Before I always go there by boat on Chao Praya River. 🙏

what i love about thailand is, it's a pro-pedestrian country. mass transport systems like bts, mrt, safe bicycle lanes, river transport system, bus, train/airport terminals are all interconnected. can't wait to experience them next year❤️

That area has a strong Mon vibe in it. Mon are ancient people and one of the ancestries of today's Thailand. Nontaburi is another province apart from Bangkok. It's quite strange that today all the adjacent provinces around Bangkok seem being merged to it due to the extended metropolitan. For me Nontaburi is still another province as it was decades ago when I lived there.

been there last time in 2014, and the good thing there, it is not changing so much. Space is finite there, you can't build more there on this tiny island.

The more scenic way to get there is to take the Chao Phraya express boat to Nonthaburi, the last stop. Take a short taxi ride from there. Take the boat back at sunset.

I’ve been to Koh Kret twice. I took Chao Phraya express boat and took a taxi to the pier, then took a ferry to Koh Kret. Now I’m missing that place. Thank you for sharing how to get there. See you again in your next… err…video. :)

Such great memories this brings back to one of my first visits with my brother! Such a cool place! What is the place like this closer to home (Sukhumvit) that you mentioned? I need to go there. I remember the episode but not the name of the park. 🤔🤔 I had a much longer river journey from Nonthaburi Pier (Pibul 3) to Ko Kret when we went. Maybe I'll try your way next time! Thank you again!
