I remember soï 11 in early 2000, the opening of Q Bar, the Bed Supper Club, the sea food restaurant close to the Bed. I can't imagine when borders will reopen : it will be the big rush.
2:02 I can't imagine thinking that I'd look good wearing child-sized pants, backwards. He can barely walk, only throw his legs forward. Imagine if he got into a fight or was being chased. LOL
I come for the video but the comments are a great bonus. Keep up the excellent work Red, I feel like I'm there. Pls do another live stream so I can support you (Maybe just with Jon 555 😌)

It actually gets me (mildly) annoyed that so many western tourists don't realise that dressing like you are at a beach resort when you aren't at a beach resort isn't considered 'normal' in SE Asia. I recall chatting to one guy in Vietnam and he said one guy turned up for a job interview at the school he works at wearing a Beer Lao t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops, and was really surprised to be told it wasn't really appropriate attire for a formal job interview.
Yeah - I lived in Bangkok in the 80's and never wore shorts once in the 2 years I lived there - pants, shirt and shoes - and never had a problem but saw lots of idiots who did in their wifebeaters...fortunately I had a good Thai friend who told me the way things worked when I arrived - Vietnam is the same ( maybe more so since they have a stronger work ethic ) but people just don't seem to get it - like they would do the same at home ( ie. go to a job interview in shorts ) when you travel you unfortunately find out that most of the population of N. America and a lot of Europe are just plain dumb...which explains the world we have to live in...
@@MrKikoboy Backpackers only talk to other backpackers, and don't see that their little culture bubble is completely divorced from reality. The funny thing is that they also probably believe that eating street food in tourist spots means they are 'living like the locals' and blending in.
People aren't observant and should realize different countries work different, but there is plenty of reason to come in expecting that in a hot as hell climate the attire would be different. You don't wear at all similar clothing to a job interview in Austin and lots of California that you absolute MUST wear in New York, Chicago whatever. If you showed up dressed so overly formally ... you might not get the job because "poor culture fit". I've seriously heard of that happening.
@@parasitius You only have to observe the locals though to see that beachwear in cities, even hot ones, looks rather weird. In fact in many SE Asian countries there is a real pride in appearance. It's not just about job interviews. The Thais apparently have a phrase that translates to something like "birdshit westerners" to describe what to them is the puzzling habit of comparatively rich western tourists (which includes the backpackers) looking terrible and scruffy.
@@RevStickleback maybe coz westerners don't feel the need to show off their wealth like Asians. They dress down. Asians like to be seen with the latest phone, bag, car. Of course they live at home with 10 people, can hardly speak English and know nothing of the world outside of their country. Sorry, can't buy class 🤣
These are seriously fun and well crafted videos. Wow! The woman at 03:04 in the blue jeans and cropped blazer style top has one of the most intensely sensual struts I have ever seen.
I love seeing them do what they were born to do...stand there, look pretty and wait for a man!😎 2:46 They are all crazy SOME are just HOT enough to get away with it lol
This is a wonderful video. And simple. I will pitch in for Red to do a May update if you-all will. Doesn't have to be Soi 11. Is there much foot traffic on Soi 4 with Nana Plaza closed?
@@viajesseguros Summer time is low season, rainy season, and hot. I'd try to go September - February instead. San Diego weather and don't have to worry about monsoons.
@@j.umajor9292 The prevalence of pretty petite English speakers in the Philippines is very convenient but the level of grooming, even in Manila, is more like Pattaya than BKK. I'm not sure about "more beautiful" but then beauty is a matter of taste.
@@kennethpaige7036 yeah the level of how they say "beautiful" to a woman, depends on the individual - Filipino women in the UK, they're gorgeous inside and out
They must have got shut down, was up earlier this evening as well. Very entertaining to say the least! lol. Now all the vids are gone too from the live streams they were doing
yes, dark skinned ones are the ones aren't they, not a lot of people realise, but we do though, the word is EXOTIC!, truly beautiful innit!, especially if they have that long jet black silk hair flowing down.
@@bangkoktimes-ls7kf in a sense some people may be offended by the word exotic. But I get what you mean. They are probably looked down on in their country as poorer due to ppl assuming they work on farms.
