I’m going to make a bold statement by writing that this is my all time favorite Global Travel Mate episode! Although, the dinner episode on the plane/restaurant L-1011 was a close 2nd. Enjoyed for a second time from Chicago a year after I first watched this!
Vry cool....very modern, like a bicycle stadium with tracks for different speedwork, a hangar and lights everywhere...👍And IF you're lucky you get a free shower afterwards..🌧 Can't beat that.😄👏Thanx again Jeroen,Mirela & the friend companion🙏 Khub khun mak mak loey🙏
When you ride in this 23 km. long bike track, you might be in trouble if it start raining. Because it’s one way ride with no return. You need to complete the loop or find any rest area every 5 km. as fast as you can which sometimes is too late. But it’ll be fun to ride in the rain. It happened to me several times.
The way Bangkok is developing it seems that in ten to 15 years it will be a more desirable place than Singapore ,I just hope the prices would not skyrocket too much .
Just found your site, the cycling track pulled me over. It's one of my favorite pastimes and It sold me on BKK which helped to close the deal as the place I'm going to settle on in Asia. Thanks for the ride.
That looks really fun! 😊 and it looks like a pretty flat terrain considering it being around the airport. A good workout in a safe and fun environment. 😎😎
The motto "healthy mind in healthy body" already says it. The idea of the lane for Bicy is extraordinary. The facilities and the road safety environment is excellent. However, I do not see entry or exit of airplanes, which could very well be another attraction.💖
Edwin, during the whole ride I only saw 2 planes coming in and 2 flying out. When all is back to normal, I think that will be quite different and it will be great for plane spotting.
Great video and very informative of the services provided and what to expect at Sky Lane. I like the recent additions of the skateboard area as well as the running area. Both are separate of the cycling track which is good.
The bicycle circuit is was established by His majesty the king Mahavajiralongkorn (king Rama 10), also he change the racecourse (Nangleng) in the middle of bangkok to be Public park in the town for the people. And as you show many time Benjakitti park is was by his organisation.
@@thasspongthapsang6769If anyone its Rama IX krub since the project sponsor by SCB and SA during his reign and one of his company but Rama X loves biking so that place will be in good hand.
Last Saturday, the bikers were vastly less than normal because of lock down news and very cloudy weather. Many ppl including me who drove nearly 50 km from western Bangkok to ride there, wouldn't take risk with a big rain. Not only bike and running lane, AOT also opened surfskate zone last month too.
This is so cool. I can't wait for COVID to end so I can come over and do this. Just a question-- everyone seems to be wearing cliche bike shorts and tight bike shirts as if they are some sort of professional bicyclists. Is that a requirement? Or can a standard tourist come and ride wearing regular cargo shorts and a t-shirt?
A couple of questions, if I may, Jeroen. Are rollerbladers given anywhere to skate near there at all? I got into it in Chicago, and the blue lane looks perfect. And you answered another question as well. Is it possible to take a bike on the airport express?…and I see the same Thai sense of the road applies on the bike path!
Yes, there is a good sized free car park. I haven't been on a weekend so don't know what it's like then but during the week it wasn't crowded with cars.
Awesome!! Thanks for doing this. I knew you'd like it! What good honest Dutchman wouldn't? 😉 Maybe this will be the first thing I do when I arrive. Is there a place to store luggage? Then I will go for a ride, hail a cab and have a vacay! What a way to start! Dependent upon arrival time of course. 😉 Thanks again! C ya when I c ya! 👍🏼🍻🇳🇱
There is another bicycle track near by called "Nong Bon reservoir" at "cha-lerm-pra-kiert Rd. (Udomsuk)". It's smaller but you might want to check it out. It closed to "Suan-Luang Rama IX".
