Thanks Jerome! You took me back in time. I went to Koh Tao 20 years ago! We took the train the Chumpon then the Ferry to Samui and then the Lampraya to Koh Tao.
Very interesting video. Yes, is a good idea after Songkran to go to holiday. We stayed 10 Days in Samui. Very good holiday, Rain started yesterday, we are lucky, always sunshine
Thanks for the great videos, as a past resident of Koh Tao, I just want to point out a few extra ways of getting there. 1. Night Train to Chumpon and then the morning Lomprayha to the Island, that boat is arriving at 9am. 2. You can also take the Night Boat from Chumpon to Koh Tao, leaving 10pm and arriving about 5am. 3. If you fly to Surat Thani (the transfer from the airport to the city is slightly shorter than Chumpon), then there is a Night Boat leaving Surat Thani at 9am and arriving Koh Tao around 6am.
Been there 10 years ago same Hotel. Very good location. We ll be back in November after a few days in Bangkok and Laos. Hope you show bit more of Ao Nang 👍
Hello! First time coming across your channel, fantastic video explaining the journey to Koh Tao! How do you go about about buying the ticket to sit in the exclusive area? If you already have the ticket can you buy it at the desk in Chumphon? Or does it need to be purchased online in advance? Did you buy your boat tickets online direct?
Or you can take the night train from Bangkok to Chumphon which was actually very enjoyable. I'd recommend figuring in at least 2 hours extra past their estimated arrival time. Bangkok trains are notorious for being very late. Mine was 2 1/2 hours late but I made sure to give myself at least 3 hours to get to the Lomprayah pier.
In March me and friends took a big trip by car from Phuket to Chiang Rai and back. Stayed overnight in Chumphon both ways. Our stopovers were Chumphon - Hua Hin - Ayutthaya - Khao Kho (Phetchabun province) - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Tak - Bangkok - Chumphon. It was really big fun and more than 3000 km. 5555
Short flights? There was a flight from Don Muang to Hua Hin. ( with a Sky Van) Suspended. Chiang Mai - Mae Hong Dong or Mae Sot was also about 45 m with an ATR. Crazy flight? Nakhon Ratchasima - Bangkok with Air Asia for … 60 baht. Yep, 2€. Didn’t last long… In the start up of Airasia we flew to Phuket for 300 baht one way.
hello jeroen thanks for all the great videos i have a question i want go to koh tao because my gf life there but how is it with the flying ticket because i have more as 7kg baggage
