Assalamualaikum brother hijab, I'm living in Bangladesh and would love to give an update what's happening as of 1st August 2024. 1. As of death toll, the number exceeds 250. Unofficial we are thinking more then 300-400. 2. Kids as young as 4 years old died at their home from gun shot. And the number is at least 6. 3. They used ak47 . Yes you heard me right, Ak47 in full automatic rifle at the unarmed protesters. 4. They used helicopters to shoot from the air and UN marked vehicles. 5. After all of these, the government didn't stop. They targeted specifc areas of where majority of the students live and did raids to arrest and assault them at mid night which is still going on. 6. They are capturing the youngs even the younger 14,16years old from roads to homes and sending them to jail. Calling them killers even they did not do anything. 6. Police are checking phones on the road and from the raid to see if we have any proof of what had happened and done by the government. If they find anything related to this, they'll simply delete them , assault the person and send him to jail. Even to girls they are doing the same. 7. After all of this, the government is denying everything that happened and trying pin it on extremists and terrorists. 8. They shot mir mugdho who was not even protesting. He was there to give water to the protesters as it was really hot and humid day. They shot abu sayed who was unarmed.( You can watch the videos just by searching their name in social platforms. 9. After all these teachers , lawyers and even reporters have also joined in the protest. All I said here is true and can be verified. On 31st july one of my teachers from my uni was attacked by the police while she was trying to save her student from illegal police arrest. Currently, things are horrifying in Bangladesh.
A child was playing in the roof,bullet of fascist government killed her.Many children were killed .Students are murdered, prisoned,injured.Even our teachers are prisoned. We,the Bangladeshis, now,live in a country, where the military, police protect the fascist, corrupt government by killing the civilians. They attack us only because we want our right.Their bullets do not know anything about Justice. The thing that hurt more is,any foreign country do not aim at bullet to us, we are being attacked by the armed forces of our own country.The bullets which were brought by the tax of the civilians. You are absolutely right. One of my friends from Bangladesh also said that number is more than 1000. The ruling Govt. corrupted hands and hearts went so far that they are not thinking of anything other than their power. Their power started with the killing of Pilkhana tragedy, and then the mass killing of Islamic scholars. Now they are thinking the same way......I'm also scared of how long our brilliant, smart, talented, and future generation stands still in front of that heartless government, who wants to keep their position secure by any means.

One main thing that Bangladesh did was, they blocked off all telecommunications. They weren't even allowed to use the Internet as a whole. That is absolutely crazy. Especially in times of communication & information era we are living in. The government must get overthrown. For decades foreign investment & our fathers, family's sending money has helped the people of Bangladesh. But the country, the government all this time has still not found a way to help it's people grow. It's just sad for students, poor people that are stuck in the country with no growth. This is why Bangladeshis are everywhere around the world trying to find a better life elsewhere.

This is misleading information, the Government haven’t accepted the student protests yet. The government haven’t passed a bill in the parliament to set the quota system. Thus the students wouldn’t accept a) the unjust killings b) PM to publicly announce an apology to the nation c) proper justice for those who became shaheed d) politics free university etc etc

The current prime minister: Sheikh Hasina is like a spinoff version of Israeli prime minister: Netanyahu, doing the same think as Palestine 🇵🇸 in Bangladesh 🇧🇩 Stand with Bangladeshi students. 200+killed, 2000+ highly injured, 3000+ are in police custody illegally and many more are missing.
The protests were peaceful and logical. However, the Prime minister resorted to reply to the valid demands by students by calling them, "Rajakars". Although that word means "helpers", it's a term used to describe the Bangladeshi helpers of Pakistani Army during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. Its highly frowned upon term in the country and that is what riled up the movement. The general secretary of the current governmening political party also resorted to say that if the students continued their protest the governing party's student wing will give them an "Appropriate response". This student wing consists of grown men armed by the government that have full immunity as well as complete support of the police force. This is what led to the high number of martyrs. They had disconnected the internet for 5 whole days. There was a complete national blackout. Deployed the army, declared curfew and the police were given kill on soght orders. Children as small as 4 years old have died. This is not just a movement for quota reform anymore, it has turned into a movement to reform the system. A system that is only greedy and power hungry. A system that voilated all human rights in its 1.5 decades of regime.
