Deicide is a one theme based band. Till Death Do Us Part album is as far away from usual lyrics as it can be, I think.

@@LeoM-zt3pl When Leigon came out no one liked it, then it grew and is now considered one of the best death metal releases of all time. This album as i have indicated has some Leigon style riffs and they translate pretty good in todays production format. Another thing to is a lot of time has gone by and in that time a lot of things have changed. Bands that stick with their formula and don't go outside those boundaries will always be criticized for song writing

First deicide album that really captured my attention was once upon the cross due to the production, riffs and catchy song writing. Self titled was also mind blowing lunatic of gods creation

@@LeoM-zt3pl I heard Leigon around 1998 or 99. The actual first album i heard was their live album When Satan Lives. I didn't know it was going to sound that good and thought it was a album recording but it was a concert. I couldn't believe what i was hearing so i explored and downloaded their discography and listened to it. I later on bought as many Cd's as i could afford. Leigons riffs were mind blowing. Still are. If you caught them on the Leigon tour the delivery of the material is insane.

what do you mean suddenly pretend care about it? AI "art" as we now know it fairly new thing and has been criticised from the beginning. It's lazy and even the more realistic ones still look weird. The Deicide art looks particularly shitty and uninspired. As a fairly succesful band they should have the budget to have an actual artist do the job.

Umm people do care about ai "art", it isn't art. It's formulated trash. Fun to make, sure, but it isn't human expression. It's just a computer stealing from art and spitting out the results. Enjoy the music sure, but the music is art. Their cover sadly is not, and that detracts from the album-no, the band as a whole.

More notorious than Carcass? People fucking worship the ground Carcass walks on constantly. You can’t go anywhere in the extreme metal community without somebody worshipping Carcass like they are the sun. Deicide is popular, but not as popular as Carcass.

Yeah Carcass DEFINITELY bigger and more influential than Deicide, its honestly not even close.

deicide is probably the worst of the more iconic osdm bands from the 80s/90s. Once Upon The Cross was amazing but i never got the hype for their first two albums and everything else is kinda forgettable

So many way better albums especially in Death Metal that are way better from this year

I actually really like this album. I think Robert and Melanie LD have underrated it but I also think Thralls have overrated it. But best of the year? Not even close to being the best Death metal album, never mind best metal album. I agree with Robert on most stuff but this is one of the times I think he's wrong but I agree with a lot of his points. I also think his takes are usually great and has awesome taste in music. When you say this guy isn't an expert, then also say this is album of the year, then you're in a world of delusion, my friend. This review is WAY closer to what the album actually is than your take.

Best album of the year? Compared to all the killer death metal albums that came out this year, this falls pretty short. Not to mention other metal releases besides DM; Judas Priest, Exhorder, My Dying Bride, etc.

Secondly, I don't judge the OG bands on the same standards others that are new to their music may. I am looking for those bands to check off the boxes in which their band typically does with their music. These guys are pioneers. Have some respect. People whine about the lyrical content. They are Deicide. Get over it. They know what they are and what sets them apart from other bands. This is why their band lasts over 30 years. I don't think Job for a Cowboy is going to be around quite that long. Time will tell. When people say if this was some other band they would not care that is false. They may care less because they are not the band who pioneered this style of death metal. Who are the big 4 of death metal??? Deicide, Cannibal, Obituary, and Death. End of story. We all know it. People just go in with low expectations because they don't like Deicide to begin with. Music is subjective. If you are going to have a review you need to see it from multiple angles, not just your own. Not to mention I am not hearing any music coming from anyone complaining.

I like a bit muffled Suffocation and I love The Zenith Passage's clean as fuck and razor sharp sound. Style is one thing, but the quality of sound is another. All those bands have distinct style, but they also have the quality of the sounds. Don't tell me a fucking cardboard drums recorced thought shitty microphone sound better...casue they don't.

Can you please explain what True Death Metal actually Is without Meat Riding Glen Benton or Deicide? Because unlike Deicide most Bands form the same time period have more Originality than they do, yet this Is their 11th Full Length.

A True Death Metal Band wouldn't use A.I. Art, neither would a Black Metal Band.
