I just taped a bags anthem into the back of my Banjo and it sounds fantastic. Has anyone else ever tried this? I stuck the mic on to the head with some Blu-Tack...lol
Hm, ever thought of running both pickups at once and adding sound effects to one of the pickups? I was looking at goldstones smp+ when I found this. I gave up on pickups because I was struggling to get rid of the feedback. I think that was a “Me” issue. 😮💨
I played at a festival a few years ago and the band after us had a banjo setup that sounded really good. I went to go talk to him after his set and he was apparently using a condenser mic as well as a piezo pickup and mixing the two together.
The first one (Gold Tone) sounds better considering there is a mic and a piezo pick-up under the bridge & since the LRBAGGS is of a different design, its sound could be improved by lowering the volume as you did, increasing the treble on the amp to about somewhere 5 to 6, increase the mid to about 4 to 5, and lower the bass to about 3 to 4, depending on the wattage of your amp. adjust it to the vol. level pleasing to your desire. It can equally sound brighter and maybe better. There is nothing to impede your right hand with the LRBAGGS as it is underneath. The gold tone with the mic & piezo it sounds better but the might mic might be disturbing to the right hand and in handling and packing But it sounds better.
