This video lecture entitled as, “Bank Reconciliation Simple Illustration” broaden my capacity to answer problem solving regarding bank reconciliation. Additionally, step-by-step explanation made so much easy to identify whether each items should be considered as either under bank statement or book record. And with this video, I’m looking forward to bank reconciliation problem solving after the preceding videos and listening to prof. A’s precise discussion of the topic and I realized that as long as we have a firm grasp of the reconciling items and conduct a thorough analysis of the problem, we can solve it and go through it easier. Thank you for the learnings, prof A!

I think for me, having discussions like this is a great solution while we are still having online classes. Someone like me who’s a slow learner, these videos help me to visualize and to see step-by-step how to solve items. Problem Solving has always been intimidating for me, giving me anxiety every time I encounter it. But thank you for this video Sir A that I can pause and I can always go back to, whenever I forgot some points and need to understand all about it again. Teaching me requires a lot of patience and so this video is a great remedy for my anxiety as I learn about Bank Reconciliation. Thanks, Sir A! God bless you.

When the video started, from the get-go, you immediately told us that it would be easy, and it truly is. I find it very easy and got the correct answer on my first try. It is thanks to your effective teaching during the previous video discussions because when I was reading the problem, I was able to recall every key point that you pointed out during your discussion about bank reconciliation. Especially your tip about not memorizing the different reconciling items in which side they must belong, but rather, understanding their nature and it truly helps. When I was solving the problem, I used a different approach to get the deposit in transit item. First, I make two tables as you did, one for book records and the other one for bank records. Second, I was able to identify the reconciling items and easily put them in their corresponding column. Then, I solve for the adjusted book record and bank record at the same time, however, it still won’t match since the deposit in transit is still missing. After solving, the bank record is P1,500,000 which is less than the book record P1,650,000 and since we knew that deposit in transit item is an addition to the bank record, we need to identify how much more we need to add to the balance of the bank in order to equalize it with the book record. Therefore, I subtracted the book record from the bank record to arrive at the final answer which is P150,000. However, even though it was the same answer, I think I will also use the solution that you showed to us since I think it would be easier to use. Regardless, I was thankful that I have learned a new solution. Thank you, Sir A, for the practice problem, it helped a lot!

This video showed an effective way of answering a problem about bank reconciliations, specifically, computing for the deposit-in-transit. First, we identify and list all the important given and figures. Then we identify whether they are under Balance per book or Balance per bank. Since we know that these two should be balance, we’ll proceed to identify where deposit-in-transit belongs (which is balance per bank) and do the necessary computation to balance them, which will also give us the value of deposit-in-transit. This is actually similar to my initial computation of the problem and I’m quite happy with that because it means I learned something from the previous video lectures. AGAIN, this further shows that knowing and understanding the reconciling items is essential and is the key to having a smooth bank reconciliations. Thank you for this simple but really helpful illustration, Sir A! ♡

In this video, I learned how to find and analyze if the one missing is a reconciling item. First, adjust the available adjustments, then identify the adjusted cash balances of the two (ledger and bank). Lastly, find the difference between the adjusted cash balance and amounts recorded to determine the balance of that particular reconciling item that is required to identify. Thank you, sir A!

Thank you for this, Sir ir! Honestly, I'm having a hard time analyzing the problem in the books. It took me days to understand about the bank reconciliation, but teaching us with this simple problem really helped me understand how to solve it, especially, when one of the reconciling items is missing. In addition, showing how this problem is solved through this video makes the problem easier for the students to understand in more concise manner.

The previous lessons about bank reconciliation helped me to easily solve and identify the reconciling items in this problem, Its easier to solve tis problem by plotting the bank recon illustration and identifying what missing and whats given.

Wow, I got the answer in less than a minute by just looking up the reconciling items' figures and the unadjusted balance of both the book and bank statement. Knowing about and understanding the previous videos tackling reconciling items really help in making the problem solving easy.

Thank you, Sir A, for this simple bank reconciliation illustration. I remember you mentioned that when we are making the bank reconciliation satatement regardless of the method if its adjusted bank to book or book to bank we have to make two columns balance per book and balance per bank. Since this is the second time I've watched it, I tried to solve it on my own. Though I was a little confused, I was able to answer it this time.

Before actually reading the problem, I thought it would be confusing. But luckily, I was able to compute the deposit-in-transit quickly and got the correct answer. The video showed a technique of how to properly analyze the problem by only focusing on significant information and I realized that it’s similar to what I always do so I’m very happy with that discovery. Thank you for another fun and educational explanation, Sir A!

Before the video starts, I try to solve it on my own and fortunately got it right thanks to the clear discussions we have previously. However, I use a different way of solving it and learned here in the video that we have the right way to do it. This problem made me realize that with the right understanding of the lessons we can actually answer a problem and apply it, and also learn the proper way of solving it. Thank you so much Sir A for the effort of teaching this knowledge to us!

I grabbed my pen and notebook the moment I noticed the problem written on the white board. I made an effort to analyze and solve it, and then I watched the video to see whether my answer was correct. I'm glad I got the right answer! Here is when familiarity usually works over memorization. God bless you, sir A, and thank you!

After watching the first video about the theoretical bank reconciliation exercises, I was excited to try problem solving. And I was happy to apply what I learned in the previous lesson, so I answered the problem correctly. Thank you again, Sir A! for giving this kind of problem. I hope there are more problems like this for us to master the topic.

There is no better way to test what you have learned than applying it. With this video, I was able to put into test what I have learned from the past videos. Guess what? I got the right answer, yey! It feels so great knowing that I know how to apply what I have learned, thank you for another great video, Sir A!

I was able to correctly solve it since it was quite beneficial to concentrate on examining and finding the reconciling things available in the offered picture. I got it correctly since the previous video lecture made it much easier to understand and determine the reconciling item for this problem. Thank you, sir A!

This example simply demonstrated the need of first analyzing a problem before attempting to solve it. Being asked about the deposit in transit rather than the usual cash balance caught me off guard. Furthermore, it provides an outline of how problems will be encountered and solved in the future. I'm excited to learn more, and I appreciate your clear explanation, Sir A!
