Bankstown Recycling (#R9)

This video is the next instalment of my Bankstown series, showing another of the recycling trucks previously run by the council works and services. If I recall correctly, it was in 2013 when the current six recycling trucks were purchased to upgrade the fleet. The six trucks used prior were the ones I captured four videos of, including the two 2007 GenV ACCOs and two of four 2005 MkIV ACCOs. After work one night most likely back in 2012, I headed out west and caught the featured recycler R9 working between Regents Park and Birrong on a Tuesday morning. I appreciate this driver's good quality work, particularly his persistence ensuring that bin stands upright in the last clip... I say this due to the lower quality of other council operators in the area. I hope you enjoy watching this truck in action, especially with that old MkIV elevated floor hopper. Much later down the track I’ll upload another of these MkIVs, which will be R8, already seen years ago in my earlier work.

Awesome vid mate always love seeing an oldie doing the job nothing better than a banging MKIV ! You're right too about this blokes service quality, he makes sure everything is back nice and neat, big difference to the rest of the council workers over there for sure :P

Great video Mitch! this truck isn't as fast as the ones in your previous videos, this ones a bit slower like the garbage truck GC1, still though nice truck, GC1 is now a part of the Warringah fleet, its been there for almost two years now, its been given a new number #014, it still has the GC1 on the tailgate, so if you saw it about in Pittwater or Warringah, you'll know its from Bankstown. Do you still have footage of those original garbage trucks? or are they off elsewhere now?

I think they slowed some of these lifters down since my original Bankstown videos... probably too much wear and tear. I remember seeing GC1 when URM first got it, started off in Mosman for a bit, but haven't known of its latest whereabouts. Still have a few videos of the old Bankstown trucks to come, they'll be posted every so often ;)
