Garbage Trucks... that's what this channel revolves around. Most may not find this subject fascinating, however, there are a lot of people who take an interest in these machines. The size of the trucks, the roar of the engines, the power of the hydraulics and the different aspects of engineering are the key factors which grab my attention. The technology used and the trucks themselves are utilised to transport hundreds of millions of tonnes of garbage produced around the world each year, and this fact is often taken for granted... what would the world be like without garbage trucks? This is one place where these sophisticated machines are appreciated. If you are interested to see how things are done in Australia, you've dropped by the right RU-vid channel. I'm regularly hunting the trucks tackling residential collections and the heavy duty equipment used for the C&I sector, such as the speedy side loaders and monster front lifts. Be sure to look out for my regular posts!

Mitch! Top notch video here my mate! What a nice surprise to hear that this was filmed on your phone - definitely the better way to go! Even though the transitions are abrupt, it still works! Here's a suggestion: going forward, if you want a smoother transition, you could keep the camera rolling until the truck is long gone, then get a super long approach in the next clip, and so on. I know that might be tricky since you have to keep up with the trucks, but just an idea for you to think about! This truck sounds real good for being a newer truck, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the audio was on this one! I noticed the audio from your old video camera doesn't bring out the bass that much, especially with a Euro 3/Euro 4 ACCO, so I actually prefer the audio from your phone much better. Would've been awesome if you could've caught all those Euro 3 and 4 ACCO's with your phone - then I'd be able to hear those busy thundering Cummins ISC engines and their bassy sounds! But hey, better late than never, right? Hopefully if you do go hunting for trucks, you can film one of the remaining Euro 4 ACCO's with your phone, if there are any left, that is. Again, top notch work here mate, and looking forward to the next one!

A sign of the times, you know times are changing when Mitch gets out again and captures a new video of a truck on a phone! 😮. Seriously top effort mate for the first time trying something different out, this has come out a real treat, took us all by surprise for sure haha but equally as great in a totally different way for all that we’ve known since 2008. I’m glad you got back out to Fairfield again, definitely chose the right bloke to get on film for all the right reasons shown throughout. Favourite clip would have to be those units starting at 2:32, just the slick motion of up down, up down all the way along, no excessive reaching out either. Spotted a sulo 2 in the pile at 3:04, stands out alright, cool to see a few Ottos noted also at 8:54 and 10:58. Chose the perfect clip to conclude with as well from 12:07, equally as satisfying in ways as the units, single sulo 2 pickup and round the corner. Just an idea given it seems you can’t use your favourite transition anymore, for phone clips, try pointing it at the ground, then slowly panning up as the truck is rolling in from the distance. Even though it might feel initially strange next time you try it out, when you come to edit and mesh two back to back it should fit in well hopefully and I think you’ll see what I mean, learnt that technique a little while ago as a “natural” way of transitioning as a different option. One other thing as well, and I apologise if you’ve already answered this question publicly to someone somewhere else, but you never got sent any photos of the Fairfield JJ Richards split trucks emptying the split sulo 2’s all that time ago? Always interested to see what they would have looked like. Anyhow great video again, it’s been long enough myself since I wrote a proper decent comment on here instead of helping others out with useful info or replying to nonsense stuff to set the record straight 🙄. Cheers mate 😄😎

Awesome video I love the sound of this truck. And I do agree with what you have said about filming with a phone it is a great option! And it depends on the editing software, the one I use is iMovie (if you are using an apple phone) and it has the translation effect you used to use I am pretty sure.

Awesome video Mitch! I noticed the new phone camera filming, gotta say it looks really neat! It perfectly captures the truck and brings out all the colours really nicely. While there is something cool about the filming on the old camera, giving it an old times feeling, this new phone camera looks really neat! Just wondering, what phone did you use to film this? Again, great video and I can’t wait for your next one :)

Are yes bucher mj reving! Aussiegarbo I like to ask and know about your opinion of current bucher mj hoppers! Personally i think there too small and breakable from what I've seen even sp and Richards ones now are larger and unbreakable! I personally think mjs hoppers should be like what the mkiii hopper design was! Unbreakable and larger with more room and space for banging organics! Oh so the Fairfield fogo is fortnightly instead of weekly hmmm interesting! Parramatta this November with veolia is weekly fogo,weekly garbage and fortnightly recycling! Trucks will be Dennis superior paks both side and rear loader! With a few of the current merc buchers as spares! Parramatta gets new recycling and organic bins from late this month have to see if the organic bins will have air vents! I know they'll be black instead of dark green from my understanding!

When I saw the title said “Fretus” I was expecting to see an ACCO JP5 as the thumbnail, disappointed mate. You forgot to mention how good the lifter teeth are on the Garwoods, you don’t need to be real precise with your bin placement, the way they’re shaped means they just slide on when you raise the lifer. With an UrBin or SPAK you gotta be wacking those bins on with precision! I’m currently driving a newer version of this body at the moment on clean ups, newest truck in our fleet. I quite like the compacts, the newer version features an upgraded control panel, means you don’t need to use your full wing span to hold the bins onto the lifter while one hand is on the buttons lol. I’m sure you’ve already figured it out but in case you haven’t, you can just fit x3 240s on the lifter, deforms the bin on one side on mine cause we got the runner grab handles in the way. How good are the Hinos too, I love how the hazard toggle switch is on the steering stalks, better then leaning across the dash to flick em on like in an ACCO lol. Just wish they had a bit more go to them, great on a smaller body like the compacts but a with a fully loaded maxipact body it’ll take you about 3 business days to get to 60km/h. Another quality video mate 👌🏻
@AussieGarbo
@AussieGarbo 9 дней назад
Sorry to disappoint mate, my last RL uploads were of JP5s, so I couldn't go and do the same again, just imagine the insanity on my part! Who knows when I'll put the Fretus JP5 footage up now but, could be in 6 months, could be in 6 years 😅 Yes good point about the lifter teeth, now that you say that I recall 157 at URM and remember being able to drop the bin however and it'd sit by itself. Guess I didn't realise with the truck in the video coz I've just been so damn accurate placing them in the perfect spot 😝 Funnily enough I never even thought to put 3x 240s on this lifter, so used to only being able to do 2x on the regular truck that it didn't even cross my mind! Don't have a great deal of pick-ups where it's necessary but, mostly singles or pairs, that job at 8:40 is where the most multiple 240s is found. I've wondered about the modern day 6x4 Hinos and moving power, even found the older single axles I drove at Watts all went hard, but that Auburn side arm was the newest big one I've driven and it wasn't too mighty. Would think 10 years later they made some beef up advancements, but perhaps not 🤔 Just as I stated my curiosity at the end of this video's description about using a Maxipact Hino on my run, well it turns out I'll find out in about 6 months, last Monday got informed there's a brand new truck on order for me 🤯 The old ACCO is getting up there in age and costly to keep on the road 💔 However, exciting times ahead with a fresh start 💘

Aussiegarbo you don't suppose this is the company that does the Easy care gardening rubbish collection! I was also told that the sub contractor who collects them also brings a ute with a trailer and they collect the bagged and bundled green waste in that, it would definitely be a small garwood rear like this if they do use are garbage truck! Veolia in Ryde and Kur ring gai, Urm in hunters hill and Cleanaway Hornsby only collects them as part of a booked council cleanup thought!

At the time I was hoping to get one of the Dennis Raptor Series III trucks with the yellow arm. I know which Dennis you're talking about with the Series II lifter, there was a picture floating around on Google images. Not exactly sure where that one was based originally, never seen one like it in person either, might've been one of a kind.
@Aussie_Garbo5371

@@AussieGarbo Yes, 724 went to Sydney and from memory was working for parramatta & Blacktown, now scrapped. 726 went to Moreton bay and is now apparently a spare in port Pirie. The Series II Dennis wasn’t a one off, one is in Perth. The one that worked in Adelaide (699) has since been sold off and is now a tipper truck in Queensland.

Once again you've blown me away Mitch another time capsule of Central Coast history. And I know exactly where this section is you filmed in. The last section of Kincumber before you end up in Kincumber South where it starts going rural towards Bensville etc. Funnily enough, this entire section you filmed in was cancelled and put onto the difficult access run for Gosford in 2020, which is operated by one of those mini axle 4x2 Accos. Permanent drivers got the shits with the section said residents ended up abusing cul de sac parking, full timer went around and wrote letters and left them in many letterboxes in many of those dead ends and no avail so he went on a tirade and got it taken off not only his run but the other 2 streams as well, rendering it only done from now on by the same bloke in the mini axle, twice a day (one load for rcy or veg, and return later for the garbage). I did this section in the mini axle in my time there at Cleanaway, and I can see why the big trucks ended up handing it in any saying NO F**KING MORE! Lmao. Who doesnt love a Series 2 with a great arm slam on a Euro 4 setup. Best chassis and body combination made imo. Shame nowadays we will never see such a classy yet simple set up in a fleet ever again. Central Coast just nailed it at what they did, trucks that never looked untidy and the livery, both the Thiess blue and Remondis black variants were always appealing. I miss these days. I was actually about to score the Gosford difficult access full time not long after I decided to hand in the towel there after 3 painful and dark years working for Clownaway. Won't name names or specifics but all I can say is thank fuck I'm out of that place... Feel sorry for all the boys who have been there since Thiess and Sita/SMS even few BFI and PWM originals who just are treated so poor by the current contract holders. It is a shame. The industry just isn't the same that it used to be. Great video mate, thanks for the upload. And I know who's behind the wheel he just not long left Fuckaway from similar shoddy treatment.. Typically these would operate around 900RPM. Not sure if Bucher still makes this bigger grab and as far as I know SPAK has always used the same size. I believe Aussie designed 360L bins are able to be gripped effectively by the Aussie made grab lifters, so upgrades are not necessary now.
