I went to be a vassal of Vlandia and got assigned lots of fiefs, and then couldn’t defend any of them. I keep losing all my troops no matter what and can’t afford to defend my fiefdoms.
oh another tip k likr is catipults gave a limited amml supply so you could always pull back troops out of effective range and then send looters in loose formation till they exhaust there rock supply
@@wf1675 I mean they do have limited ammo supply in the siege battles but you're probably referring to world map ammo supply and sending troops via world map
Started my first playthrough a few days ago. Didn’t know how to increase army cap so had 5 T5 imperial archers and 15 veteran legionaries, a good sword, a good companion and some good gear and money. Fought some mountain bandits but their friends came to help and I still initiated combat. 45 vs 20 and I got it down to 7 vs 3 but then I was knocked out. Everyone died and I was captured. I lost my remaining money on a board game and now I’m destitute and wandering as a vagrant looking to gain back my glory. Gun game but I have lots to learn.
This sounds like how my first playthrough will probably go lol. I bought the game a couple days ago and haven't even really played much, just watching videos. I feel like there's so much to learn lmao
Serve as a Soldier is one of my favorite mods, turns you into just one of the rabble in any lords army. You get outfitted with state-issued weapons and gear, and follow the lord around in their warparty. You can even earn enough honor to have fiefs deemed to you.
SoonTM. Love your channel btw. Hands down most informative and well-researched Bannerlord videos on youtube and it's good to see that people can appreciate how much work you put into those.
Aside from my tip about area practice the next most important thing I would say to a new player is to avoid looking into exploits, I was glad to see this video deliberately avoided them. If you don't know about them most won't be things you stumble into during the first several hours of playing. But a lot of them once you learn about it can be hard not to use them and they will trivialize the game. Honestly unless you're struggling with a mechanic I would say don't even look into any of the background things that go into it or you'll quickly begin to exploit the game without explicitly being shown how. The scope of this game meant the team had to choose between robust systems or functional systems and they did a really good job if you're just looking to have a fun RP experiance.
It's alot more enjoyable now and not as frustrating but it's missing lots of things .no camp no downtime activities. No feasts .lots of stuff thts missing .they could add hunting In during camp screen
I mean, you can go sit in any city that is close by with your spouse and make heirs instead of building a camp for no good reason. Also, sending your companions on missions is a downtime activity
@@kylelinder5353 there is many reasons u would want a camp .to just check out your army talk to them in downtime to talk to your followers,to make a defencive structure like a wagon fort, etc and go on a hunt for deer etc .there was many reasons why camp was good.sspecially the mods tht came out with warband
@@robertstevens7682 feasts and camp were main thing I liked. There was so many mods tht added so much more like adding defensive structure for camp adding hunting
I have 100 hours in the game this is the best video tips i’ve seen for the game. Good job! Could you do more ? Even for settings. For ex what is the correct camera distance from the character
Great tips! Just started on Ps4 a couple days ago and I am in love with this game!! Definitely struggled to get my bearings in the game but I am moving along nicely now! Thanks for the tips!!
Few comments about the Archers Unit Micro section. 1. If you have a big group of archers (100+) often times loose formation would be too big for all your archers to fit, especially in a foresty/bumpy terrain. 2. If you're archers have the highground, putting them behind your infantry could work. Think about the line of sight. If the archers are firing above and behind your infantry, your good. Also, that line of sight could also apply to what formation you have for archers as well. You can make line-formation with archers work as long as they have adequate spacing between.
My first play through is rough. I didn’t realize everyone would declare war on my in the first week of my new kingdom (spent a lot of time cutting off heads from a kingdom that imprisoned me a lot.) and so I made a giant army with my companions (700+ units) and that took some figuring out, but when I go to take my first city I only had 100 troops on the field. It was really upsetting and idk how to fix my troop deployment. That’s how I ended up on this video.
I think its wild, how auto resolve will have you barely surviving a fight you would stomp the enemy in by giving the engage command. Like what the heck? Oh yea, you outnumber and outpower that army? Still lose 30 to 40 soldiers somehow.
I haven't played it for more than year, and I must admit it is great, much better than I expected. Like when you issuing command time slow down. Thats insane. Currently I am trying to join kingdom and after I have good town I will start rebelion.
1 huge tip I would give to new players or returning players is to do practice arena fights. They have 0 risk, will let you use a wide variety of weapons, get you some gold, and will let you level up several early combat skills. Just about any time I take a break from the game I'll run a few just to get the handle on combat again. Solo or small skirmishes is definitely better for xp and loot but you can lose if you're new or rusty. Practice arena battles don't even take in game time so you don't have to worry if you keep dying. Just click the go again option and you're right back into it.
I like going to empire towns and practice fighting in the arena. Theres a place to hide in the arena and you can just kill one guy, get his shield, hide away and kill the last guy. Boom, easy 250 denars. Very nice if just starting out.
First playthrough is going great! Joined the Battanians, married Caladog's daughter (with only 1 save scum lol) and was awarded the first castle I helped siege! Only thing is, the available wanderers are not very skilled (only 1 with 60 medicine, for example) Do more wanderers become available as time goes on? Or am I stuck with 1 scout and 1 medic the whole playthrough?
@@interherbasse6902 im sorry i gave you a wrong information The button says "disable battle death" so we cant stop the aging on our character But it will take a really long time before death by old age will become a problem for your character
@@interherbasse6902 you cannot disable character aging on consoles. "because of technical reasons" according to taleworlds, which makes no sense. But it's really not a big problem. Takes a long time to age and die, usually have conquered the whole map. And if not, if you play campaign you have siblings, if not you can get wife and children. You can level their skills up before you play them, so when you do they will be as good as your own character.
I freaking LOVE this game ! It is literally like they made it specifically for me down to the smallest things. I love history, warfare, diplomacy, government, etc. Even the fact that the markets in the game actually matter & are useful. In so many games today the markets are redundant & serve really no purpose.
Mine is going excellent. I am beginning to get much better. My plan is to increase relation with the Vlandian leader as much as possible, and then influence the vote for the new one.
I still remember the first time I tried Mount and Blade 1, I was like, what a piece of sh...! Until I pass the learning curve. Now, for me, Mount and Blade series is one of the greatest ever created.
1st playthrough is going ok, except a few things I think I've missed out on marriage and creating heirs character is 48 now, I'm not always happy about the time limit involved in quests especially the main quest, but I don't like time limits in general in games
I finally worked my way up to a meager 40k denars and a band of 78 fighters. Won a siege i decided to help and was granted the castle and two lands as my first fief after becoming a vassal for southern empire. All of a sudden my daily upkeep fee went to 1,800 denars and i got caught joining a Rhaegas siege on the next castle by the enemy troops. Their 2000 against my 80 so i surrendered, and got carted around the bottom of the map until i had 0 denars left😂😭😭
One easy tip ive noticed for leveling up tactics without much risk. Find very full bandit hideouts of any kind. Bring skirmishers with your crew , set them in a line get them to follow and set them to open fire. No idea why but like every 2nd bandit killed by the skirmishers throwing weapons increases your tactics. Unintentionally discovered it in my newest game where i got my tactics skill up to like 40 in the first weeks from just clearing hideouts.
You can hide trebuchets? Wow. I mean it was obvious there’s something wrong about this entire mechanic. But I didn’t actually expect it works properly if you know how it works 😂 They should probably hide by default, having to press pause to get these few sec to hide is nuts
got about 26 hours in. I knew about the food variety bonus for party morale but I didn't know it increased steward stat. Haven't got far enough in the game for siege battles yet so it's good to know that tip when I do.
I need a guide that holds my hand man, I'm right at the beginning after your sibling bails. No clue what to do. Looks like fun game but got so frustrated, didn't pick it back up
With mods does anyone know if it works if you don’t buy the game from steam? I’ve got bannerlord from game pass so just wondering if the mods from steam will work?
Khan's guard is not only the best horse archer, it is THE best troop in the game. I completely gave up on archers, as they are so much harder to manage.
just got into my first playthrough, despite knowing zero about how to do things my king has gifted me 3 fiefs for some reason and I have been warring with the desert kingdom for a week now. made 150k and have enough influence to do whatever I want. the game really is easy.
Same here, just become a mercenary for a bit and then ask the king if u can become a lord of that empire and when the kingdom goes to war just start beating up other lords and soon you'll have a couple of fiefs and then boom you'll have 100k gold easily. Only problem I have is keeping my fiefs in high loyalty, any suggestions?
If only this game could merge with chivalry 2. The combat in bannerlord is total dogshit. I'm playing on xbox and it also has to be one of the buggiest games I've ever played when it comes to combat.
Only 1 thing you need to know: 1. Player is immortal. If you marry, you can switch characters through main character death. If you don't marry, you don't die. Boring.
PROBABLY UNPOPULAR OPINION: I'm not going to lie I feel like warband is better and I could go on a whole rant about why and it's not that there's anything bad about bannerlord it's just so hard and I don't know a word for it exhausting once you start a kingdom it can get to a point to where it's just annoying and not even fun it took me days in warband to really get good but I did and it was fun and I was able to take over the whole back and I'm not going to lie bannerlord is awesome if you have the patience but I wish I knew it was coming to game pass before I bought it
I’d love to know how to actually make a success out of a workshop business! For some reason I still can’t figure out why my breweries make no product or money!
It depends on the products that are made in nearby towns. U should lookup the best workshop per city on google and they will tell you which workshops make the best money.
My sturgian character hasn't won a single victory not even against looters. With 20 sturgian recruits I can't take on 5-10 looters. They steam roll over them. Idk if I got a broken version of the game
Loving the game so far, but honestly mods do make the quality of life for the game a lot better. The vanilla diplomacy is kinda poorly designed and the combat AI definitely leaves a bit to be desired.
My first play through died quickly. 2nd one too. 3rd one is going strong, I'm serving the Battanians currently and I might pledge the dragon banner to them. I have 1 city and 4 castles, Caladog won't let me have anything else though.
under a minute in and you got a sub - the player balances this game, it's just a matter of working with or against the various systems and mechanics. What I wouldn't give for a JSawyer-style mod that didn't slant the game so much towards what the devs think we want and gave us a straight sandbox that didn't treat us like the chosen one or give us 6 consecutive towns as the new kid on the block. Getting virtually everything handed to us makes for little relative sense of achievement albeit the hacky, slashy, pokey parts are incredibly fun still.. The Ai is, quite literally, the complete opposite of what it implies - it's really, *really* dumb. In a variety of places too; the battlefield, the minds of the rulers and Nobles alike.. 'One more turn' - it is highly likely that anyone playing this game with lose track of time, It's bloody good fun, if imperfect.
